I downloaded the files again to make sure I hadn't changed anything since yesterday, then changed it to UTF-8 - still produces HTML entities.

The problem is that viewing the selection source is that it doesn't show HTML entities (see attachment)

Might want to look at 16:10, I joined as Śmad to say hi but it removed the first letter

I did try that, but it still provides an HTML entity.

Hmm yeah, HTML entities are not what I'm looking for. I'm comparing something in a database (e.g. T.Nogie^Eæ or M.Mizio^E³ek) to a name I already have in UTF-8 to check if a driver has finished the race or not, so I just need the character. Those two work fine with the original code, but ^EŒ just returns nothing!

Would be nice to try it

For some reason the codepage converter doesn't work on this string " 55 M.^EŒmieszek^L finished 3rd" - in a MySQL db but doesn't work out of it either (should be M. Śmieszek). Am I doing something wrong?

Insim reports restrictions, tyre compound and whether they are symmetrical or not - if we could check setups with insim we definitely would be doing so! Not sure why myself or any of the other admins would do what you're suggesting if we wanted to actually have people do these races...

Should've posted earlier to ease the confusion

Pit work can be checked via insim to see if any changes have been made.

As for not allowing drivers to shift+p/s after each session, like you say it means no setup changes after they join for qualifying - when of course they can make them in real life. I suppose it's a decision between no setup changes versus the time taken to do the setup checking - I think it would be best to allow people to adjust their setup.

Will probably do a test a week or so before the first race.

Will be at the penultimate meeting of the year at Silverstone this weekend - anyone else going? I know Tommy Østgaard will be there doing Formula Renault BARC (32 car grid!), and quite a packed timetable so should be good.

Yeah it allows us to make it 175bhp/630kg with the driver to reflect the real life series, and it does tame the LX6 a bit. Other Caterham series use 125bhp or less, 610kg, 5 speed with an open diff and different technical regs so this one was easiest to do.

On 1366x768 it looks good, only complaint is the entry screen where the version text is white on blue and bkg_setup where the track name is yellow on a white highlight making it hard to read.

NDR LX Challenge

Based on the Caterham Superlight R300 championship, the NDR LX Challenge uses the LX6 but adapted with a semi-fixed seup to meet the technical regulations of the real life series.

Improvements behind the scenes have made it quicker for admins to check setups meet the regulations, meaning qualifying and race action is scheduled to take just over 90 mins. The format includes six different tracks over five 30 minute double headers events and a final 60 minute race for drivers to tackle.

Plans are being made for the series to commence in November with races on a Sunday evening.

For more information on setup restrictions and rules, please see the LX Challenge google doc. The Caterham Superlight R300 regulations are also available as a reference.

We are looking for suggestions or feedback regarding the format or semi-fixed setup - I have attached a DaveWS' BL1 setup with the fixed elements applied, so please have a try of the car and adjust the setup to your liking.

ELMS had a decent enough P2 grid, but was let down by the GTE entries really, especially at Donington.

Morgan, why couldn't they have it like Spa and Silverstone this year where the WEC run the event and the local entries join the WEC race? That's the sticking point, ALMS want to have it as their own race which means the WEC is playing second fiddle = https://twitter.com/specutainment/status/251923506701422592

Austin will have plenty of garage space, an FIA grade 1 track to stop the SC coming out umpteen times as you have at those two tracks under IMSA rules, and will allow those two races to host the new American series. Plus a more sensible season in terms of logistics.

I have the same laptop and have had no problems running LFS for a few years. Must be something in the Event Viewer if it needs a restart, does it just go black and you can't alt+tab or anything?

There is a WE weather bug, but it's to do with the pitlane being all dark when it's cloudy afternoon.

You would expect that difference in support for Ross County and Rangers given Glasgow has a population 116,000 times that of Dingwall.

As CSF has closed the R5 thread, I'll use this one re: yellow flags.

The rule hasn't changed for a while - " Yellow Flag: Unsafe condition ahead, such as an incident. Drivers are to reduce speed and/or prepare to quickly yet safely change direction. Overtaking is expressly forbidden."

I don't recall getting false yellows at SO4 pit exit (SO4R pit entry maybe), and it only disappeared for a second while #98 was close to the wall. Compared to real life we have a track map, so getting an early yellow flag gives you time to check it before deciding whether or not to go flat out into a blind corner.

Quote from IsaacPrice :... I'm pretty sure you can go through a lot of races to find people who havent backed off under yellow flags but its been a false alarm, but incar ingame...we have no way to know that.

Well yellows (almost) always appear for an actual incident, though you may catch the tail end of one and not need to do anything except be aware or check the map. It's up to you what you do, just don't complain if you cause an incident by ignoring them and get penalised

Quote from PMD9409 :Completely different series, but ALMS broadcast, it was just stated that GTE will not be changed for the merger.

It's a Grand-Am/NASCAR buyout, never forget.

Makes sense given GTE has the most amount of American teams at Le Mans of any of the classes.
