cmon - if Lynce put so much effort in it I would like to know what do I miss if I dont notice some differences. In case of reflections it could be really awesome if you find that ie. windows in what buildings reflect surroundings - I usually dont notice it driving but in replay thats awesome (I wish that in all the buildings :tilt.
Oli, if you can find any design of the buggy (I know that where popular there are quite universal designs with many mounting places) - better use it. I had detailed manual for donor car, but many parts were still on car when designing - I had many parts that werent measured properly, some mountings werent shown in the manual, so improvisation was constant part If you get a bike as donor you should have all the wiring also.
I thought autograss middle-engined with light bike engine is quite well balanced (I got real rear-engined car, so now with no mass in-front, I put there battery, spare wheel and 30kg of concrete steel - it has COG about 85% weight on rear :tilt. So now I get it with whole front body (maybe even some mounting places can be used) from a car in higher classes
Previuosly I meant that suspension is designed for dedicated mass to fit frequencies - therefore in fact springs and dumpers wont get stiffer, but suspension - yes, it would have smaller frequencies with smaller mass. Well I wouldnt dare to make moving suspension parts (I wouldnt trust its durability) so I wish you good results with your desing and job done
Usually suspension is selfmade in such construction (double wishbones front and rear). Springs and dumpers have to be fit individually - if you are going to make really offroad machine remember that buggy would be half or more weight of donor car... thus suspension would be twice stiffer (but also with twice durability as calculated for heavier car).
I didnt know you have autograss class in UK (we have RX races here - not an oval - with modified roadgoing cars plus one small autograss type with 600ccm ca. 20bhp) - frankly I dont know why use body? It is added 150-200kg with no impact on strenght http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN-fZkGKhGM
You are not on road, you are on racetrack - overtaking in turn is allowed
My advice - do it with AIs, when you can race with (and overtake) AI1 PRO level (... let say AI2 :tilt it means you are ready to go online... to be 3s off the pack
rear bump in the corner is damn fecking irritating and is obvious fault by the overtaking. Although bump in front end usually means too late closing doors - of course at apex, not outside rumble strip
well, in corners due to lower speed, distances are smaller, they are braking much later, go thru turns much quicker... it is their responsibility to overtake safely but if you make room to overtake you must be consistent - stay outside to let them pass. Which is good way to obey blue flag also.
First what you have to answer is how many parts you could apply from donor, how many do you plan to make yourself or find specialized parts.
When you answer that, try to find ppl who made such layout and have design. I know the most popular buggies are from beettle (1600ccm) and there are many designs and parts especially in States. Here in Poland we have buggy design for small fiat 126p (600ccm veery small wheelbase), I created mine frame desing from scratch for Skoda120 (rear engined, water cooled, 1200ccm) using whole suspension (front double wishbones with frame, rear swingarm). I know there is one (!) guy in Poland making buggies with 150bhp bike engines... others just making prototypes from donors... no grown market for this here in Poland.
So here you come up to the frame - how do YOU want to make it. Cut, bend and weld? I can tell you - fitting tubes and box profiles for different angles is quite a pain in ass when you dont have simple tools to do it. But you know, it is possible, I managed to do it
I cant tell you anything about making a cart 250ccm+ I think many parts and designs for that with regullar racing. And specifications.
it's not that complicated. In fact it is not at all complicated - but installer will not help me what is the difference between version A and B
Nevertheless I spent a while watching SO at cloudy evening - a beauty. The buildings look really great when reflecting skies, I wish more of them would do it more noticeably. If they could reflect sun glares at sunset... yummy
well if it is not a hoax it is quite optimistic - this means that new physics is ready but Scawen perceives it is too much CPU-consuming at this stage of PC's market.
Frankly I am quite disappointed that meanwhile, waiting for the patch I was able to make a buggy, just on weekends.
I didnt
I rather watched hills in different lighting - sometimes they look strange, your inspirations Lynce, from Hawaii looked much more green
edit: notice - I recommend not using haze
In fact they look cartoonish from distance, even with mip bias and user LOD maxed.
Frankly I dont know why palm leafs dont move as trees and flags do on high winds.
Nevertheless, great addon - I found at SO reflections of other buildings only on one building (near Chicane) - is it possible to make it on other buildings?
