Probably the most basic car of LFS in a very wide and fast track - there is no other options as close racing,as you can't win much over opponents, but you can rather lose,so concentration for whole race is very important. 15 laps around the 5.1km Kyoto National Reversed should be done in few minutes past half an hour in this 115HP relatively light hatchback. Drafting and calculation when to pass oponent for your own good is not optional!

He was the only driver, who was able to break 2:15 mark today and he did it in both sessions securing himself pole position, fastest lap of the race and also what's the most important - his fast pace was the key on the way to victory in this race. It was Nilex's first win and he joins the winners club as 28th member. Unbelievably Croatia is just the 3rd country (besides Latvia and Finland),which has more than 1 driver in winners club! Despite the hard 30 minutes long chase,Litro had to concede by less then 2 seconds in finish to score his 16th top5 finish,Storm achieved his best ever finish by taking the last step on podium,3rd top5 for him already. M.Velikov also finished for the 3rd time in top5 by taking 4th place in today's race, but wild card starter Ant fought his way up from back of the grid to 5th,which is his 2nd top5 in 2 races he participated.

In 2 weeks we will have the final RTFRi of this year (no event on X-mas),which will be held with some faster car using sticky slick tyres!
Nilex XFG master
Event rating and other statistics updated! There are just 2 changes in top5 of rating - 3 leaders keep their positions (Rony,Litro,HonzaNB) while 4th place is newcomer M.Velikov, who pushed Agent to 5th and Kars out of top5. 37 is the total count of drivers, who have scored any points in this rating,4 less then 2 weeks before.

Nilex scored the first pole position for Croatia and also 2nd win and 2nd fastest lap for his country, putting it in 9th place in best country chart here. This race clocked the 12th closest finish of all time with 1.76s time, repeating margin of victory of 26th RTFRi,it was also the closest ever finish in a race with XFG. Nilex is the 41st driver to lead a lap in RTFRi races.

One of the most challenging LFS tracks is set for the last RTFRi of 2013 - Fern Bay Black,a 6.6km long piece of bumpy tarmac located on virtual Jamaican island, offering dangerous chicanes, fast curves with practically no run-off areas, tight hairpins and if you search - also some short straights, which will not give much of rest. The car for this race is a proof, that you don't need much of power here,as low weight, agility and good handling makes the 190HP FOX to be just 3 seconds off from pace of 490HP GTR cars in a over 2 minutes track!
Staying sharp and making no mistakes is the right way to be on top, being fast too makes you unbeatable here!

If last time Croatia became the 3rd country to have more than 1 winner, just 2 weeks later Germany becomes 4th country to have more than 1 winner - driver named PSC took lead in 1st lap of his 2nd race here and held it until finish line to score 2nd win for the 3rd most represented country in RTFRi,PSC also took fastest lap of the race. Keeping himself out of trouble,M.Velikov was the highest finisher of all previous winners with 2nd place finish,4th top5 finish for him, last step of the podium was taken by polesitter Lacko, who could not conver best starting position (first ever for Hungary) to win in his first race here. The italian first time participant Piedone finished 4th,Litro closed top5 with his 17th top5 finish.

So this was the last RTFRi event of 2013,we will be back in first tuesday of january! Meanwhile I would like to invite everyone to 3rd annual This is Crashmaaas !!! in 26th december (info to be posted this week).

The new year brought us a new entry in RTFRi Winners club - after taking his 2nd pole position,he led every single meter of the race to become 30th member of Winners club,on the way setting also his 2nd fastest lap. After original 2nd place holder run out of energy juice in final sector of the race,M.Velikov came home in 2nd place, which is his 5th top5 finish,M.Zandmanis took the last step on podium with his 6th top5 finish. The driver with most wins under his belt between today's competitors,Kars, finished 4th,which is his 17th top5,Falcon finished in top5 for the 6th time,as he rounded up today's top5.

Holidays are over, which means that we have the usual 2 weeks break now, next race will feature some of the grippy slick tyre cars!

This is how similar and different can races be - we will be using same car make and track configuration named "North" for the second race in row,but this time the XR is fitted with powerful turbocharger, aero bodykit and slick tyres, while the track is the northern part of Kyoto instead of Aston. So to sum up - the next race will be XRR at Kyoto North Hairpins - an open configuration track, that had already one appearance in RTFRi,that time used with slower LX6.
Track is quite wide and flowing except for 2 tight 180° hairpins, where you have to turn your car quickly to oposite direction, doing it so too close to curbs could end your race very quickly!

Interessting track. Start will be from normal grid?
Yes,default KY2 start, layout leads track to right direction, first braking is the same as in every lap, just the straight is much longer in first lap. With this I just realized, that we will have to brake from ~250km/h to speed that allows go through to very tight hairpin,I hope everyone will be very careful for 1st turn...
dam, there was already pw set when I was home. Now I can only watch on lfsremote

The Kyoto North track with extra hairpins turned out to be quite uninteresting layout again as only 9 drivers were ready to attack this track. Most successful in it was Genuine Racing finnish driver A.Valta, who won everything what's possible today - qualifying, race and set the fastest lap. He is the 31st driver, who has a victory in at least one RTFRi race,it was also hist first pole position, but already his 2nd fastest lap and 3rd top5 finish. It was also 9th win for Finland, which is still 3rd most successful country here. Because of 2 drivers ahead ended their races too early (with roll or lost connection),Invecs came in finish in 2nd place, which is his 16th top5 finish,3rd place was taken by J.Lappalainen,it's his first top5 finish in 2 appearances. His 26th top5 finish scored Rony with 4th place, but top5 for the 7th time was achieved by Falcon with 5th place today.

In 2 weeks we deffinitely take some of the road cars for a spin, hopefully in a more interesting track!
It was fun even though I didn't even manage to complete a lap. My internet decided to fail upon me so I specced to avoid mass carnage in t1. Hopefully I'll be there next tuesday!

It's been a long time since we visited South City for the last time. So why don't we take our only 4 wheel drive road car and take it for a spin around it? A pretty quick 2.9km track awaits us - Chicane route reversed has straights with fast turns, few slow turns and a narrow chicane - everything we need to get the tyres glowing for this traction rich car!
As usually in urban racetrack - keeping the car healthy will be the key to keep your pace consistent for whole race!

2nd win,3rd Pole position,3rd fastest lap and 5th top5 finish - these are today's achievements of A.Laipnieks, who wasn't challenged today on his way to dominating victory. But further down there was plenty of head to head racing - M.Velikov managed to slip by Litro to take 2nd place, which was his 6th top5 finish,Litro chaced hard for his position, but had to settle for 3rd,18th time between best 5 in race for him. The only driver from todays top7 finishers without wins,Falcon, managed to beat few previous winners to take his 8th top5 finish with 4th place today, another Race Green driver Invecs followed him closely to take 5th place today,17th top5 for him.

More grip will be the feature of next race in 2 weeks as we will race some of the slick tyres wearing cars!
Quote from Eclipsed :M.Velikov managed to slip by Litro to take 2nd place, which was his 6th top5 finish,Litro chaced hard for his position, but had to settle for 3rd

Not true. I just tried to save my tyres all the race.
