Since long time RTFRi will feature car choise - the whole NGT class is up for racing in next race. Will it be the rollhappy and very light UFR or the tamer and more powerful XFR,it's drivers own choice as they are quite balanced out in Fern Bay Gold Reversed configuration. UFR might be slightly faster and easier on tyres, but it's a big risk to roll the car as it's outside tyres sticks to road so good, that any bump can throw the tiny car for some rolling action.
There are no car usage limitations in this race, every driver car drive whichever car he wants in any session! And there will be an extra bonus point in rating for the best finisher of the car which didn't won the race.

Since 59th/60th RTFRi there were no back-to-back winners, but this streak is now over - A.Laipnieks is the 6th driver, who has won at least 2 races in row. It was his 3rd win overall and he also got his 4th fastest lap and 6th top5 finish. Despite leading most laps in this race,K.Jaunzemis made a costly mistake late in race and gave up his chances for victory,at the end he had to settle for 2nd place finish, which still is a big improvement over his previous best finish - 8th. Also the 3rd place finisher Fullers improved his best result - his best performance was 6th. The only non-latvian finisher was Falcon, who repeated his best result again - 4th,9th top5 finish for him, just 1 hundreth of a second behind him was the best UFR today and the last finisher - Rony with his 27th top5 finish. Another driver needs to be mentioned - Litro scored his 9th pole position, but retired early from race.

Obviously this challenging and roll-happy combo had too much grip as attendance and amount of finishers proved,so in 2 weeks less grip with some of the street cars!
Start was perfect and i tried safe race...but pc @race showed tricks-2nd lap t1 was first fps freeze for moment, but it was enough to go out of racing line and loose much speed...then again and again until got first hit from others and left race for safety.

Let's keep racing with front wheel drive cars - if last time we had choise between 2 quickest ones in LFS,this time we have the most powerful FWD car in LFS - the turbocharged FXO. Due to weight and road tyres it's much slower on track, but it's still a hell of a challenge to be top level fast with this car! The track for this race is very fast, but without real straights - all the fast parts of 4.5km Aston Central custom configuration features slight turns and bends,so no relaxing between slower turns and the tricky downhill chicane!
Tyres as always are the issue with FXO - if you go too fast, you will lose pace soon due overheating, can you hit the right pace on your way to victory?

5 drivers qualified and 4 drivers finished were the negative records of RTFRi attendance, today they were smashed as only 2 racing fanatics took part in this event. The best of them - M,Velikov, who won everything available today. It was his 2nd win,2nd pole position and 1st fastest lap in 10 races,7 of them he has finished in top5. The other driver scored his 28th top5 finish.

In 2 weeks the racing will still continue - this time with cars using slick tyres.

The 3rd fastest LFS car returns in RTFRi in a very short sprint track - we will race the 490HP rear engined rear wheel drive FZR in 2km South City Sprint 1 configuration. Despite track layout being quite simple,it still features few challenging sections - 42 times around this track will be a good workout for both body and mind!

Activity in this fun event is starting to drop, only few true racing fanatics left - and still,it was quite intense racing, even if it wasn't direct fight for positions, but 2nd place driver never allowed the leader to relax for whole race, but he managed to hold the pressure and score the 3rd win for himself,in final laps taking also his 3rd fastest lap,29th top5 finish for the organizer. The runner up had never finished higher then 4th before, today he was one of 2 drivers, who drove full distance without destoying a tyre,10th top5 finish for the canadian driver Falcon. Lately very casual driver, but previously one of the most active participants here,Carbon, today upgraded his best ever qualifying result from 4th to 3rd,also finished 3rd in race, despite cruising half of it on 3 healthy tyres,7th top5 for him, another tyre killer M.Velikov finished 4th,which is his 8th top5 finish.

In 2 weeks the fanatics will return in same place, same time (well, kinda, considering the time change to summer time here in Europe),but with different cars on different tyres in different track.

April the first is know as the fools day,so let's take the finnish mid-engined roadster and fool around the Blackwood Rallycross track! Funny, that this car, being created anything else then a rallycross car,is still second fastest car around this track (if we count out the unapproprate FXR) with world record just over the magic 1 minute mark! But this will be a 31 laps race and no hotlapping challenge - everyone has to be ready to take care of their tyres.

There were 3 3-time winners attending the race today, but none of them were able to join the very special club of 4 or more time winners,as M.Velikov joined the 3-time winners club with strong performance through out the race,it was also his 9th top5 finish. Falcon was the leader for most qualifying time, but was pushed down to 4th later, which still is his new best ever qualifying result,in race he repeated his best result achieved in last race - 2nd,11th top5 for him already,Rony made the all-Race-Green podium by taking 3rd,which is 30th top5 finish. Gutholz also improved his best performance records here - in qualifying he took 6th position (+4 to previous best),but in race he reached top5 for first time improving his previous best 6th to 4th,Litro finished 5th,again focusing on achieving best lap due unsuccessful race - he already had scored his 10th pole position in qualifying,he took also his 6th fastest lap of the race and finished in top5 for 19th time.

This is no april fool - we will return for racing after 2 weeks with some slick tyre car!

After dusty action last time around,we're back in city - we might have a car with pretty average daily car power, but with little weight and big amount of grip this race will be far away from relaxing city cruise. The Formula BMW FB02 offers good laptimes around this 4km urban racetrack without having much engine power, who will be the one,who can take the most of it?

It looked like S.Litmanen gonna join the RTFRi winners club,as he proved to be the fastest in today's race,he even scored his first pole position and fastest lap,but his connection decided his race with 6 laps to go. But we had a back-up dominating leader for this race and it was his 2nd win in row and 4th in total - M.Velikov is now one of 5 drivers who have more then 3 wins in RTFRi,it was also his 10th top5 finish. It was also the 4th win in row by Race Green Autosports, repeating best streak from already non-existing Ixion. 2nd place was taken by another RGA driver - Rony,31st top5 for him, last step on podium took first time participant Mux from MRc team. 20th top5 finish was taken by Litro, who finished 4th today, but Falke finished in top5 for the first time with his 5th place finish,he upgraded his previous best finishing position by 7 places.

The usual 2 weeks break, then RTFRi will be back with some of the street legal cars!
Was fun action in the middle of the field after my spin at first lap

Thanks Rony and everyone.
Quote from vitaly_m :Thanks Rony and everyone.

You're welcome and congratulations on being the 300th participant in RTFRi!

Other stats I didn't mention in previous post: M.Velikov became the 7th driver, who has managed to win back-to-back races and Finland has now tied Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2nd place in most fastest laps chart.

4.2km long circuit of Aston Cup configuration (which basically is fusion from AS Club and AS Cadet Rev tracks) is set to be next venue of RTFRi,a quite busy track with just one straight and even that is not straight - not much rest during a 2 minute lap with the tailhappy XRT. Not letting the 247HP turbocharged engine express itself too much in turns, while still using the most of it will be the key to be fast without destroying tyres - this is the challenge this time, ready to take it?

Yet another TBO class car at Aston open config track could not atract more then few drivers, but racing for win was tough until last laps - Falcon kept his lead from start to bring home his first win, after scoring his first pole position in qualifying, these were also first achievements for Canada. Falcon became the 32nd member of RTFRi winners club and it was his 12th top5 finish, this was also 5th win in row for Race Green Autosports with 3 different drivers, setting a new record in RTFRi. Late qualifying joiner Nilex chased hard the leader, setting fastest lap of the race (his 2nd already) on his way,but never could seriously attack for lead,so he had to settle for 2nd place, which is his 3rd top5,organizer never had the pace to follow leaders, but was faster then the rest, driving most of the race in loneliness to bring home 32nd top5 finish with 3rd place. First time participant Reinis Grinvalds finished 4th and unfortunatelly also last,as one driver never started, other one quit due tyres.

In 2 weeks we will switch to grippier slick tyres, which car will be the one to wear them will be decided later, stay tuned!

After a while we return to the parking lot of U.M.S.A. University of Kent, where our next challenge is layed out by LFS user Jimmy_Lemon - we gonna use his ES AutoX International racetrack with slight edit - one of the prebuilt, but not included into original track course, chicanes will be used to make the track a tick more challenging. For the car of this race the track seems very wide and pretty fast - the McGill Racing Team's small single seater has a 600cc turbocharged bikes engine, giving the car not much power, but still pretty good power-to-weight ratio,as it weights just 221 kilograms. With very grippy slick tyres this tiny thing takes the tight corners with ease,so don't underestimate it! Keeping the car off walls will be huge factor,as there are no pits in this track and neither the car has reverse gear!

The streak of home team of the event has been finished - the croatian driver Camoradi had a dominating race today, just losing fastest lap of the race. He becomes the 33rd winner of this event and 3rd croatian to join the winners club. His pole position was the 2nd for his country,it was just Camoradi's 2nd top5 finish. 2nd finished the driver, who spent the most of the race in 3rd position - Rony used his teammates mistake in final lap to take another 2nd place finish,33rd top5 for him,3rd on podium was Falcon, who got stuck after turn 2 in his reverse-gear-less car and lost final lap to be added to his result, still he managed to set the fastest lap of the race, already 2nd for him, also this was his 13th top5. 4th finished the (as he said himself) Czechistan driver Michal, who joined this event for the first time,5th in race results is Litro, who also completed 1 lap less then he could,as he got autospectated by LFS as he slowed down to standstill after race finish, still 21st top5 for him.

Another 2 weeks break until the next RTFRi meeting with some of the road legal cars!

I quite like those Openconfig/autocross tracks. (this one too)
But dislike how often they consist almost only of those red-white barriers.
Epilepsy danger in candy land!

With some edits the tracks are often much easier on the eyes (when driving) and one can actually recognize where one is on track and find some points to brake or turn.
For example like in:
https://www.lfsforum.net/showt ... php?p=1842827#post1842827
Or use some guardrails/advertisment banners/hay stacks instead of barriers etc.
Does not have to be excactly like in link, just idea

The round numbered 80th RTFRi was dominated by hosting team's newest sign up - Litro. The latvian driver beat everyone by almost a second in qualifying to take his 11th pole position and run away from the rest in race to take his 4th win to become the 6th driver, who has 4 or more wins. On the way to victory he took also his 7th fastest lap of the race. Interesting that his previous win was in 18th RTFRi,so this was the end of one of the longest dry streaks, who has finished in top 5 in 22 races now. 2nd finished another latvian driver R.Grinvalds, which was his best result in 2 races here,2nd top 5 finish too,in 3rd place finished the canadian driver Falcon,14th top 5 for him. 4th was last race winner Camoradi, visiting top 5 for 3rd time,5th was another RGA driver Rony,34th top 5 finish.

In 2 weeks there will be the next RTFRi with some of the slcik tyre cars, join us!
