Quote from BlueFlame :Mustafur, I'm starting to wonder if you know ANYTHING about F1 at all.

I have good knowledge of F1 starting from the 90s ill agree i know jack shit before that.
Apart from this post?

Quote from Mustafur :Williams in 06 was probably the most unrealible car i have seen do a season in the past 10 years.

It did have some pace on it though which was suprising since they were using the no frills Cosworth engines.

But yeah with McLaren and Williams it was all about who was funding them on how good they were, Ferrari are lucky in that sence as they made there own engines and have a huge financal backing from Fiat.

I have no doubt in my mind that if Mercedes withdrawed from Mclaren, Mclaren would go to shit, but if these new cost cutting rules come to play that could be stopped.

Quote from 5haz :I'm sure there are other manufactureres who could provide the same, BMW for example, although at the moment they have Sauber in a similar position to how Mercedes has Mclaren.

You have no idea what your talking about. The name Sauber is only there becuase BMW choose to keep it, BMW 100% owns the team.

Mercedes has like a 40% share in Mclaren I believe.

Both teams have their respective fronts in F1 under some sort of control, however I think you'll find the the Sauber F1 'team' is still very much in place and under control of Willi Rampf, who was running the team for Peter Suber before BMW got involved.

The team are still running the cars, they just happen to be owned by BMW, they haven't been completely replaced with BMW staff.

There all BMW staff now though.

Like I said, the only real thing thats Sauber about them is the name.

(btw im going to work now, so argue later:razz

Nah, they're still based at Hinwil, Willi Rampf still runs the team the only difference being that he answers to Mario Thiessen of BMW now instead of Peter Sauber.

What i ment was they are all BMW staff now Sauber doesn't exist.

Oh and Hinwill is now there second base there Main base is in Munich.

You're just not listening are you?

Just don't worry, I'm not going to repeat myself.

Well it looks like they have been doing their homework since we last saw them.

the only thing wich is manufactured in the motorsports center of BMW in Munich is the engine for the BMW Formula One project... The car is still manufactured in Switzerland... additionally BMW only bought the majority of Sauber and not 100% of the team...

so it is something between McLaren Mercedes and Benneton Renault... McLaren is quiet independent though they are recieving money of Mercedes, and Engines... Benneton was bought completely by Renault, inclusivlely moving the factory to France as far as I know.
I believe the Renault team runs from two seperate locations. Read it in a RaceCar technologies magazine. Engines in one factory (france) and the chassis in the UK.

But alas, more pictures.....

Apart from the general "formula car" shape, no, it looks nothing like it.

The nose design is interesting though. Most teams have gone for a high nose, but not Brawn.
Quote from Mustafur :They failed becuase they thought of it in the first place, and 5 year old parts never work in F1.

Not even 2 year old parts do.

lol sorry to go back on this point regarding the Williams nose but I just found this and made me laff

Live timing here - http://www.f1today.nl/live-upd ... /09/circuit-de-catalunya/

Interesting, if I remember correctly Honda started working on their 2009 car before anyone else, and so the design is probrably fairly well thought out already.
The front wing is like 500m wide, how you're gonna overtake those now?
