The online racing simulator
nope; most likely (hopefully) never, especially mine, with me being such an ameteur at modeling.. my models are so messy compared to many people's, plus i dont really know how to make a low poly 'game' model

but i say no, because that would just turn LFS into a mess like rfactor.. now unless it turned out to be only diehard people that made the addons, that would be different.. but how could the devs possibly simplify the physics modeling enough to where people could just put a car in and drive it around?
Looking good
dont hurt me please!!

anyways.. hell with the beemer, not enough resources for the parts that i needed, im sure i will go back to it when someone comes up with something.. might have to go to a bmw dealership and get some pictures of an M3 or something cause brake lights are so.. weird..

so my temporary solution right now is a ferrari FXX, never been modeled before so i figured i would have a whack at it (hence my signature quote .. thankyou winston )

here are some preview pictures
they went through some post production in PSP8, so thats why the shadows look so akward so dont worry about them to much, and as for the rear about that wierd hump where the top-inner outlet is.. just got fixed so dont mind that

think i found a car thats worth making, it has just the right amount of detail that i want, not obsurdely to much, but not to little either, and doesnt have so many akward bends like the cars i've been doing.. if enough people encourage me i might finish this one lol
control mesh wires plz :P
everything here looking nice!
Damn I wish I had to time to continue modeling

ORION, don't worry, you are not alone with that problem
heres an update:

.. a big update lol lots of pictures

wires from yesterday, clay from this morning, little camera effect i did this morning .. well i did it last night but rendered this morning, and then where i am right now before i leave.. got a date
impressive stuff!

just wondering how long those renders with the nice smooth shadows would have taken in scanline default.... maybe 45 hours instead of seconds.... LOL
well.. with a skylight it would take much longer depending on the subdivisions.. so ya.. it would take much longer lol
Just commenting on the Bimmer here:
Looking at your wireframe shot, you're relying too much on the meshsmooth. Some parts should be made by hand completely.
Also, you have (had?) too much "flaps" on the hood vents. There are 7.
doesnt surprise me, i just put them in there without paying much attention

and yes i do rely on meshsmooth to much.. trying to get away with that, thats why i havent really finished anything also.. not only because of lack of resources... but having no idea what to do in some situations

(BurnOut69) DELETED by BurnOut69
well i havent posted here in a while; here.. i'll show you guys some of the stuff that ive been up to for the past like.. several months lol

havent been doing much, been doing some mods for some HL2 mod called gangwars.. and some other private stuff with tweak, but while i've been messing around i've started 2 other cars; an F50 and the 2002 WRC subaru wrx; the f50 is on hold since there is alot to do on it, and i want to work on it when i actually have the time lol, and hte wrx is more of a .. time to waste project

some F50 pictures:

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/XCNuse/5730c76e.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/XCNuse/cf524a3c.jpg

as for the WRX

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a392/XCNuse/4bade905.jpg

think i have most of the bugs out of the wrx right now.. tried going into a true scene setup, rather than just a plain above the car, so ... theres the wrx sitting in a globe like area with just but 3 lights in the scene, 2 directionals to light up the walls on the 'globe' for reflections for the car, and an omni to light up the whole thing
Nuse how would you rate Brazil against VRay? I hear VRay is quick and has very nice results.
as said by roadhog (basically .. but in my terms) brazil is a poor (yet wealthy :S) mans vray; which when i say that, brazil is supposedly fairly easy to use (i've only tried using it once though..) and is 'user friendly' but vray has a whole lot more options and things that brazil cant even imagine.. i dont have the newest vray (because it has many problems that.. i dont like at all) but vray is also extremely more confusing and you really have to 'learn' before you ever try it.. i think i still have a basic tutorial on the setup of vray
http://www.aversis.be/extra_tu ... basic_render_settings.htm

thats a pretty good render setup, although its not completely fast it is quite good .. so if you just look that over i think that will help; i havent really come across comparisons between vray and brazil, i just have been told that brazil is more user friendly than vray, but the con is that it doesnt have all the options vray has
havent posted here in a while; anyways i've started on a celica, havent come to any problems just yet with this

----------Painted version----------

----------Painted version----------

this one should be completed, i mean to be honest lol this is as far as i normally get for most cars.. and quite honestly.. im not bored yet, i have a good idea for this car
XCNuse, really nice!
*edit* lmao if i directly paste the link you have for painted version here, it shows up :
The requested URL / was not found on this server.
got a little bored..

and looky here

i really want to finish this project now lol obviosly it wont be 100% correct, but.. enough to complete my first car.. why not
oh thats nice...keep it up
i dont know if anyone wanted to know this or not, but i attempted making a whole car .. in 1 day

anyways, this is roughly 12 hours work from all of today taking.. almost no breaks until recently, anyways... here are the results, still have lots to do internally, but .. check it out, from 11 this morning, until midnight

final results:

Quote from XCNuse :i dont know if anyone wanted to know this or not, but i attempted making a whole car .. in 1 day

You need to see doctor...illepall

But well, car itself looks fantastic
lol

well hey.. i got as far as i thought i would have (without staying up all night... that wouldnt really be what i consider a day.. i meant like.. a reasonable working day)

anways.. lol went to bed at 3 watching tv all night... gonna be working on the car probably a fair amount of time today.. obviously much more leisure paced lol yesterday was tough
niiiiice
cmon finish this one!
it looks neat!

btw.. u made the car out of different parts? its not one whole body?
maybe thats the problem with my models, i cant get them to smooth as i want them to, even though i set smoothing groups.. :S
no its all made by one plain, just seperate, i started working on some of the seams, but got other 'bumps' to fix, here is what i mean/where i was at with materials yesterday

but there is so much wrong with the trunk of that last picture that i had to redo alot of it after that render, getting rid of the BMW logo and fixing the area that goes inward, because it doesnt really go in and drop off like a slope, but rather its ..straight
i'll keep you updated, this one is looking good so far
