Dirt-Drop Driftin'

DOWNLOAD LAYOUT

a pretty simple layout from a first-time layout maker like myself. this one is a drifting layout that is built around emphasising the use of the "dirt-drop" technique, which is dropping your rear tyres into the dirt as you continue a drift.

in most cases this is rarely used in any drifting, but i found it quite fun to try and push the limits of your car and drift through a corner on the tarmac, slightly into the dirt, and then back on the tarmac in one smooth motion. its a fair challenge, so hopefully you'll find yourself trying to do it every corner. don't get discouraged though -- even if you can't do the dirt-drop every time, you can still get around this layout quite nicely by just drifting normally.

enjoy!

p.s. special thanks to the guys who tested and provided feedback for this layout.

All Greboth's creations, I did not make these.

you're missing one file in your pack (two actually, if you count the readme). i'll PM you the missing file if you like, or you can just download the original pack from here with anyone else that wants it:

you missed my point entirely. but i'm not going to go on and on about it. i'll just ask this:

what is so "smart" about asking where you got your decals from? and why you didn't, and won't, credit who made them?

so putting "Decals and Graphics by Daniel597" on it means what, exactly? that you DIDN'T make the decals? i see.

and i wasn't being smart about it, i just don't like to see good work like this go uncredited to the rightful owner. if you took the time to create a pack, why not take another few seconds and tell us where you got the decals from? i would have assumed that is common sense.

please don't take credit for things you did not make.

Quote from [RF]-art555 :I press load laylout and nothing happends, all other laylouts work finely

i had this problem with Takumi's layout, as well as a few from other people. i have no idea what causes it, or why it happens with only some layouts and not others, but the way i ended up fixing it was to simply download it again. try that and see what happens.

Quote from falkentaka :I tried to make the K.Tsuchiya suit and gloves but i couldn't find all sponsors for the suit.

the only sponsor from the suit is Bridgestone logo that goes across the back. also, the stripe that goes along the front goes all the way around. i've attached a photo of what i mean.

if you can figure out how to add those things, the suit would most definately be complete.

i make a lot of replica skins, so i usually have to put every decal on the car no matter what my preference is.

but when i make skins for myself, i too tend to stay away from decals of companies, and companies directly related to, real car & part manufacturers (ie. Nissan & Nismo, Honda & Mugen, etc.) and some of the time, tire manufacturers (ie. Bridgestone etc.).

i personally feel that before you make a skin, you should decide that you want to it be completely fictional (using things from the LFS world only or things you've made yourself) or completely "realistic" (using whatever brands you like, but staying with a "main manufacturer" feel). i'm not a big fan of crossing over both.

i think you're capable of doing those two things yourself. you've got a decal that is more than twice the size of 1024x to play around with, and i'm sure you can use the eraser tool correctly in whatever program you use. don't be afraid to have a go with messing with what you've already got -- it'll just make you more open to ideas for your skins!

i hope i'm not going to have to deal with people telling me they've been banned in servers for using my publc RF skin again...

yeah, as the skins have been out for quite awhile, people have uploaded them to their own accounts at LFSW. unfortunately a few skins have been uploaded using the incorrect versions, but thats something i have nothing control over.

its ok, that pretty much explains it. thanks guys.
new skin version?

long story short, i have updated a bunch of my own public skins that have been around for quite awhile (better quality, higher resolution, etc.). the original version of these skins have been around for quite awhile now, and people have been using them, even uploading them to LFSW.

now, considering the newer versions are superior in virtually every way to their originals, is there any way that i can update the version on LFSW by uploading the newer version with the same name? i've read somewhere that if LFSW recognises a newer skin being uploaded, it changes the skin already on LFSW to the newer one, but i havent figured out how to do it.

just a note, changing the skin name is not an option for me. if worse comes to worse, i'll just let them be downloaded via the internet and keep the old version in the game...
