Have to agree with Ray here: Westhill is a high speed track with a narrow raceline, especially in some specific corners. Patience is the key. I've seen many examples have been seen of those who were patient, there were only a few instances when er was some contact.

Again, each class has its own race. It's a matter of live and let live when it comes to allowing each class to race the best way possible.

Correct.

Quote from DaveWS :- Lap 42
- Cars #05 and #40
- 1:03.20 into the race

Car #05 attempts a passing manouver on the lapped GT2 car of #40. Car #40 refuses to give #05 the position despite being on the outside through the corner, and then proceeds to hold up #05 for the rest of the lap until the backstraight in the final sector.

It states in the rules:

A driver under a blue flag SHOULD keep to his line and give way when the
lapping car presents an overtaking maneuver
.

Cut replay: http://www.mediafire.com/?l2mznwlz0mz

The attempted of a passing maneuver is close to a divebomb for the #05 car as the attempted their pass from a long distance. #40 gave enough room (frankly the fact that they gave enough room resulted in little to no damage due to passing attempt) and kept its line clearly.

A GT2 car will always have a blue flag, but they drive in a different class. Passing a different class car should be done in a safe manner.

Protest denied.

Quote from PaulC2K :The question of whether these things are REALLY needed are never asked, it isnt relevent, you just decide you want them and thats the end of it

Asked to whom? You? I'm sure you don't try to imply here that we need to ask permission. If meant in a way that it was not internally discussed, keep reading.

From the pages of so-so argumentation I understand that you say we need to focus more on racing, and less on media.

From the way the way we see it racing is as much as we can get it from LFS as a game experience point of view (and hopefully with the new patch releases we can continue to development on that path, however we are as far as we can go with the current patch), we are fortunate that we have the fast majority top-notch of the LFS's driverbase participating in the several teams. The rules will be fine tuned a bit more, however in essence they're as clear as they need to be.

Now we try to maintain this level and ensure the media part is at the same level. The communicating/media team is very dedicated and have a lot of good ideas. The reasoning behind the skin requests has been explained (deko's qualification recaps). Yes, we will penalize people to ensure proper follow up on this request to ensure we have the visioned appearance.
Now you may disagree but an awful lot of people actually do enjoy and appreciate the quality of media from MoE.

Finally, I understand and appreciate that you voice your concerns. However this does not give you the right to continues repeat the same arguments (which unfortunately tent to turn into rants - from both parties for that matter) when you feel we don't share your opinion. If you don't share the logic behind a request, even after we explained it a few times, then its time to shut up and accept it. If you don't accept it, feel free to either stop commentating, and/or withdraw your team if it's a necessity.

Quote from PMD9409 :Anything on restrictions?

In discussion, obviously GT2 restrictions are needed to be determined. Potential restrictions for GT1 to balance the two main cars (FZR/XRR) are reviewed.
Any input from a team/driver point of view is appreciated. Any off topic posts will simply be removed.

Great post Paul, was great to read and very descriptive for a people's LFS experience, even beyond Mercury.

From a competitor, league administrator and personal point of view I want to thank Mercury for all those years of excitement and great competition you guys have provided. You guys definitely have established a name which will be long remembered within the LFS community.

Quote from rc10racer :First off well done on chris and rudy move, second of all i think that the only reason i could see them moving teams is to help a midpack team into challengeing (if that internet connection of chriskart holds up for once :razz for the win in big leagues like MoE and IGTC but i am only guessing here.

Based on the reasons provided they were looking for the challenge of getting a team up to that point. From my understanding SR was most promising in their opinion, and as so they requested SR (not the other way around) what they would think of the idea Rudy and Chris had.

I guess SR had a free beer party afterwards :P

Nice job getting them on the team guys (Tell me, who is paying for Chris' new internet connection to persuade him to join SR?!).

Be very happy with especially Chris, that's one great person to have on your team.

GT1
F1RST Racing GT1 managed to grasp the title of Masters of Endurance GT1 Champions for the 2008/2009 Season. After an unfortunate disconnect by #low-racing' driver J.Scheuerle early in the race, F1RST racing only had to made sure that they stayed out of trouble. Despite a Drive Through after to a controversial incident with the Spdo Racing GT1 car, they managed to finish second and claim the overall title. The race was won by Spdo Racing GT1 claiming their first Masters of Endurance victory allowing them to jump two positions in the overall championship: from 6th to 4th. #low-Racing on the other hand drove a very impressive race after their unfortunate disconnect and were able to claim the last spot on the podium. GT2
While the Masters of Endurance GT2 title was claimed by F1RST Racing GT2 in round 5, and second position was not really in danger for Spdo Racing GT2, the race for the final 3rd overall position was still a fierce battle: Infinity Skills GT2, AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team and Sonicrealms Racing all were competing to claim third place in the overall championship.
With Infinity Skills suffering from a disconnect and a penalty due to driving with the wrong skin after reconnect, the race was on between Sonicrealms Racing and AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team: Sonicrealms Racing had to make up 10 points to reclaim the position it lost to AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team last race.
With last season overall GT2 winners Core Racing GT2 winning the final race of the season, it was Sonicrealms Racing who managed to finish 2nd in class and setting the bar for AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team to not loose too much ground. This season champion F1RST Racing GT2 managed to grap 3rd place - their lowest finishing position for this season. AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team finished 4th in class ensuring they have 1 point overlap on Sonicrealms Racing and managed to overtake Infinity Skills GT2 for third place in the overall standings.
Finally Pro'drive strong performance in this final race allowed them to the hand over the last place in the overall standings to Xfushion GT2.
