Apologies about the links not working. I have now updated the domain name to point to a new server so the links should start working again in the next 48 hours.
Sorry again that I haven't replied sooner but I haven't logged in for a long long time
All insim add-ons talk to the server via the /insim xxxxx port. LFS then talks back to the server on a different port (often hard coded to your insim port +1). Other add-ons will allow you to configure the "listen" port manually. Every add-on must use a different return/listen port but the same insim port.
Well I think the show get's less and less support from traders because it is meant to be a trade show, not a "Let's sell everything cheap so that all the dealers don't get so many sales throughout the year" show.
I do agree with you there 100% ... I am guilty of this myself as usually I do at least 300+ laps to get to know the track for a league race but only managed <100 for this race so was off pace.
But the least you should do is get a set together and know how much fuel you need for the race!
Ok, I said in simple terms. If we are going to start throwing gearbox drive ratios rpm and god knows what into the equasion than you are not talking about simple torque / bhp figures anymore.
I can understand your points of view although I don't share the same experience. In any league race I tend to be extra careful to avoid collisions and as such I made sure I hit the brakes gentle and early, kept my distance from the cars ahead and despite the crash happening right in front of my nose (both lag lap and actual race) I manage to navigate through the cars. Yes I lost a few positions but I could make those up during the remainder of the race.
In the first 2-3 laps I again just stayed out of the way of some of the more aggressive driving which soon generated more off-track action enabling me to make up yet more positions through cautious driving.
The fact that some drivers were clearly not prepared and asking for sets is a little disappointing though I would agree.
Torque and BHP ... Simply put, The amount of Horsepower you have determines how fast you can go, the amount of Torque determines how quickly you get there.
Not sure what you mean. The REN is returned/decoded just like any other TINY packet and should read 11 on the fourth byte. Not tested this but unless there is a bug in the insim protocol that should be the case. It's only fired when /end returns you to the "home" screen though. I don't even know if it's fired after everyone has left the server.
