JGR will win it again
Sorry for the doublt post, but this just in:

Entry list for next Sunday's 55th Annual Daytona 500

http://www.nascar.com/en_us/ne ... entry-list-announced.html

45 entries is about what I'd expected. The Gen-6 car will keep the entry lists short here at least for the first part of the 2013 season. Those who make the 500 however will be in good financial shape for a while though with (about) $260,000 just to start the race . Crashing in the Duels (evne if you make it in on a provisional) may send you home with the severe shortage of cars in the garage since they are actually made at the factory now rather than at the shop

1st and 2nd in qualifying will be on front row. Daytona 500 starting grid positions 3rd - 36th will be determined directly by the duels. 37th - 42nd will be set on those remaining's qualifying time. 43rd will be for any past champions left out of the grid already, and if there are none it will go to the 7th best time not in after the duels

You know, if there were more drivers and Danica wasn't in one of Tony's cars.. I'd say that she'll go home . I still hope she does, and one big name might go home (or at least be close) just due to poor luck now that the top 35 rule is gone
The Sprint Unlimited kicks off the season unofficially tonight in 7 hours.

In Daytona 500 qualifying practice Joey Logono is currently fastest with a speed of 195.410 MPH

Leaderboard: http://www.nascar.com/en_us/sp ... leaderboard-practice.html

Also, there was a 5 car crash in yesterday's first Unlimited Practice: http://www.nascar.com/en_us/ne ... ytona-practice-crash.html

FOX is also bringing some pretty cool coverage innovations as well

Boring ARCA race.

The Gen6 car certainly looks better than the CotF, but I find all the media attention to it pretty hilariously stupid. Similarly stupid: the fan voting for the shootout.

Anyway, hopefully it's a good race.
Stewart fail and Hamlin got scared.
Hamlin caused the entire thing, he got scared and ran into johnson
That in-car banking cam was pretty cool.

I hate it personally because it doesnt react quick enough

That's because someone is controlling it and isn't automatic like what Jack posted.

Anyways, hope the finish is good.

Yea I know
Hey Cornys. When are you gonna make the Fantasy league public? We only need like 1 or 2 more people to be eligible for prizes.
Quote from S3ANPukekoh3 :Tony Stewart what the hell

That so reminded me of Talladega last year when Tony took out almost the entire field on the last lap.
Quote from PMD9409 :That's because someone is controlling it and isn't automatic like what Jack posted.

I also thought it would be an automatic gyro-cam, with a gyroscope, not a man acting as one and tilting the cam himself
I'll make the fantasy league public very soon I made one public a week ago and it filled in under 2 days . I still know of one person who wants to join, and once that's finished I'll make it public

Tony in the last 2 plate races Talledega 2012 fall race anybody? . Busch ran into the back of Hamlin who checked up when seeing Tony spin it looked like to me. That's what spun Hamlin really it looked to me.

75 laps, and only one true caution. Of course, when you run a race with 12 cars that should be expected
Danica is on pole.

Oh god, the media hype.
Reported by Jayski.com:

Quote :"Chevrolet may have pulled out of NASCAR had the governing body not developed the new "Gen 6" car that returns brand identity to the sport. "It would have been a good chance," team owner Rick Hendrick said on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway. "As a matter of fact, I'm sure they might have." Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports and one of the top owners of automobile dealerships in the United States, made the comment during the unveiling of the 2014 Chevrolet SS production car that will debut in NASCAR this season."

Quote from Rappa Z :Danica is on pole.

Quick recap of her racing in National Series at Daytona

First Start - 2010 Drive4CPD 300 (Nationwide Series)

Final Lap of Daytona 500 Duel #2 Last Year (LOL at the NASCAR spotter )

Spring Nationwide Race Last Year (after starting on the pole)

Lap 2 of the 2012 Daytona 500

She's not crashed every time, but only once was she involved in a big crash. All the others were little or even just her. . She's not going to be a factor in the race, and I'll be surprized if she makes it out of the Duel races Thursday with the same car (unless she hides like pole winners typically do)

Also, NASCAR won't provide attendance estimates anymore: http://www.usatoday.com/story/ ... racks-attendance/1925205/

ESPN is sweet. "Top speed" rather than average speed :sigh:
