Umm can they get GT5 finished before going on about 6

He meant there's no need for this GT6 talk, it downplays GT5 and it really does sound stupid..

Ah thought he meant before passing 6 years in development.

In other news, I bought a PS3 for GT5!

I did that too, only I bought mine a few years ago...
Quote from jibber :There's something seriously wrong with the physics (or it's really the wheel lag). That doesn't look right, nor fun.

Maybe FFB is set too high, looks like it's oscillating

Looked similar in another video about the karting tho. And what's that when he hits the curbs, those special karting physics we've been hearing about? I mean, come on!

I know i'm trolling a little here, but i'm just disappointed with many of the videos we see about GT5's gameplay. I simply have a bad feeling about it, i expect lots of car porn and weird physics from this game to be honest.

Driving cars on a track should be fun. That's why i take my car to trackdays whenever i can afford it. Because it's mad fun (this inludes driving over the limit, taking corners sideways, etc). If cars would be such a pain in the ass to drive like it looks in GT5 videos, then i wouldn't go to trackdays...

Considering that is the staple for the whole GT series, it would be unfair to expect anything other than that.

What was wrong with that? Karts are low, and have no suspension.
You don't think a kart hitting a high curb like that won't launch into the air?

Even my street car with nice comfy suspension and big wheels will launch into the air hitting a low speed bump traveling at 30+ kph and it feels quite jarring.
Its not the fact it launched, it was how it launched, it was almost like the gravity had been turned down, it looked very strange.
They do, but not all "floaty, floaty" like they do in that GT5 video.
Is there one game that does not look floaty floaty when there are launches and flips?
I haven't seen one yet - iRacing, RFactor, LFS, GTR series, Forza etc they all look floaty too some extent.

Burnout Paradise maybe not so much

That's what i meant.
Karting in GT5 is more of a gimmick at the moment than a proper modelled physics engine. Karts are quite unique regarding how they behave and it's a black art just to build a good one, let alone simulating it. You have chassis flexing, seat flexing, solid rear axle flexing, ever evolving engine dynamics, and an actual human body moving about. The way you sit can change how the thing behaves, in that sense it's more like a bike than a car. So for the guys at GT5 to get it anywhere near right they'd have to invest a considerable amount of resources that they just wouldn't see a return on. It's a bit of fun in GT5, and it's nice to see in there.
It probably would of helped if he set the wheel up properly.
On that karting vid it seems like the wheel is not calibrated well, it happens with DFGT on LFS too, like, you only have a 100 degrees or something. It should be turned all the way left, all the way right, in the game.. i'm positive that was the case.

What about how they are the purest form of racing and how they are the ONLY WAY TO GET TO F!!!!!!!!? JUST ASK MSCHUMACHER OR SENNA.. IT IS HARDER THAN F1, BECAUSE KARTORS HAVE A MASSIVE BALL COLLECTION!

AND KARTING IS GREAT, BECAUSE THE BBC HATES IT.. RIGHT RIGHT ALAN? AM I RITE?!

Your right there. Unless theres a button to make the driver lean back and forward, with flex all over the kart, its pointless to have a kart on a sim until then..

I wouldn't quite say pointless because it generates a good load of publicity and some extra sales. With the amount of money put into the GT5 project they'll want to see some of it back. I think looking forward to GT6, where karting was originally planned for, will be more exciting.

On a brighter note, I now know of two fully dedicated kart sims being developed so it'll be interesting to see how they turn out.
Little kid doing a Time Attack against the Datalogger ghost, with a Lexus IS-F on the "new" tweaked version pf Fuji Speedway and doing rather well!!!

You can just barely make out the new improved V8 sound of the IS-F
