Quote from cargame.nl :Well, I think it should work. Also with version 0.99.

'It wont work' is pretty vague.

Unix based systems generally come up with an error message.

yeah, well when i use screen i just get [screen is terminating]
Quote from Roed :yeah, well when i use screen i just get [screen is terminating]

In setup.cfg:
/dedicated=invisible

Command to run
screen -AmdS screen_name_for_this_server wine LFS.exe /cfg=setup.cfg

Quote from Roed :yeah, well when i use screen i just get [screen is terminating]

Hhmm OK, weird... First start testing without screen then.
I tryed this now. It doesnt say anything.
and i cant see it in ps tryed ps-av
screen -AmdS lfs wine LFS.exe /cfg=setup.cfg

Without screen i got this error
wine LFS.exe /cfg=setup.cfg
semget: No space left on device
wine: Can't open display: (none specified)

and i got the /dedicated=invisible in config.
and...

Quote :wine LFS.exe /cfg=setup.cfg >/dev/null ?

Quote from Roed :
semget: No space left on device

Try to clean up;

for i in `ipcs -s | awk '/nobody/ {print $2}'`; do (ipcrm -s $i); done

I did run it with no output

for i in `ipcs -s | awk '/nobody/ {print $2}'`; do (ipcrm -s $i); done

wine LFS.exe /cfg=setup.cfg >/dev/null
semget: No space left on device
wine: Can't open display: (none specified)

Do you have root privileges or do you try to start it as a 'normal' user?
I run the clean up as root but the game as a normal user.
I now try'ed running the game as root too. but i get the samme error
One little question without any link with the problem above (sorry guy ).

Which version of Wine do you recommend for an Ubuntu 8.04 server ?
Since I have wine-1.0, I see that my dedi LFS servers have big problem of lag.
Quote from Roed :but i get the samme error

Well... It seems that you have no semaphores left. How many are allocated?

Use;

Quote :ipcs -u |grep sema

Quote :I see that my dedi LFS servers have big problem of lag.

I doubt it has anything to do with Wine. I think it is your hosting provider, looks like we are in the same datacenter

Do you make heavy use of your server? Consider changing bandwidth plan. If you've made a lot of data traffic they limit your connection and give a low priority to your server.

I just found that out today
Yesterday, 3 servers was running with around 15-25 drivers on each one.
The processor rate was around of 50-60% and traffic data around of 5 Mb/s on a 100 Mb/s connection with unlimited traffic.
that didn't work.
ipcs -u |grep sema

So i used this
ipcs

Quote from Roed :So i used this

Looks good... I'm puzzled... Out of options

Unless its really limited to 10. Shutdown Apache, check semaphores again, less then 10? Try to run LFS... No go? I don't know any other solution then.

Yes and also with unlimited guarantees. Your connection quality is not guaranteed in 'unlimited traffic' mode.

I dont run apache :-) only psybnc and some eggdrops :-)
Ehhh wel OK, something uses those 10 semaphores.
Shutdown an other program temporarily to free up one and test again.

Its quite rare that it's limited to 10 but if things aren't working the first step is to rule some possibilities out.

If it ain't working with 9 or less then it must be a rights issue because it can't create a semaphore.

How can it be a rights issue if im running as root?
Ever since I have had patch Z, in the client trying to connect it says "did not receive track info" but on the server it says new guest timed out.

I have gone through all the port forward.com stuff but I still can't connect through the internet protocol, I can connect over LAN and it is visible on lfsworld.net

Can anyone help me?

Peter
Just have a question.

Is it legal to run an S2 server via hamachi? The problem is I don't have a public IP address so no one can join my server. But via Hamachi it works.

We are only trying some project with slicktyre mod and tweak on LFS Patch Z. But also, it requires to use the IP patch on LFS. I guess it's because it was somehow blocked by the devs due to demo crackers used it to drive on S2 cars?

So, is it legal to use the IP patch and run the server via Hamachi if all the people have S2 license and of course unlock the LFS Patch Z with it?
Help
Server is working but how I CAN accsess to my server as admin?
Set admin password and use it @LFS server join screen.
My friend tried to host a server in demo but the problem is 'DESTINATION PORT' we don't understand what is the meaning on it TCP/UDP are already fixed but our problem is destination port so we don't know what should put it there..

We tried to put port same as TCP/UDP to DEST. port but the dedi are still timing out
