I read quite often that downforced cars could theoretically be driven on the ceiling, once they've reached a certain speed.
I was just wondering if the devs have tried this out with e.g. the FO8 on a special track or so
Could be great fun too in Multiplayer. It wouldn't even be unrealistic
A redneck is being pulled over by the police. The police officer walks up to his car and asks: "We're searching for a rapist. Do you think you can help us?"
"Nope, sorry." the redneck answers. The police men let him drive off and take a coffee break in their car. Five minutes later the redneck comes back, knocks on the window and says: "Ok, I'll do it!"
I am not but if I recall corretly there's a tool called dxtweak or so, that lets you adjust axis on your controller in many ways.
With this tool you should be able to make LFS think that you are pressing the clutch fully, when you are actually only pressing it 60% or so.
Don't know if that brings up others problems, but it might be worth a shot.
I've had my license for 3 1/2 years now (wow, didn't seem that long ago)
Didn't get any minor either. But when the windscreen was dirty when I got off the highway the examiner said: "You know in America, they have these people that clean the windscreen for you at traffic lights."
*hint hint*
That's because the road car's engines don't become damaged as easily. In most of the road cars you can usually just floor the throttle, even when shifting up.
Yep, you do get engine damage wenn the rpms get too hight.
At the start, try to floor the throttle right before the light turns green. Then you will get a good start but no damage.
You don't need to have throttle cut on upshift enabled. It's enough to quickly lift off the throttle. You don't need to lift off completly, just enough so that the rpms don't get too high. You gain valueable tenths of a second and top speed when keeping some throttle applied while shifting up.
Hope this helps.
[edit] Top speed also depends a lot on how fast you exit the last corner before the straight. If the others have higher corner exit speeds than you, they are likely to have higher top speeds as well.
