It might be due to something on your end, and not the LFS masterserver or the servers that you are connecting to.
Has anything changed between when it worked normally and when you started getting errors? Did you change internet service providers, modem/router, install a new anti-virus/firewall or started using some sort of mod for LFS?
Is the "lost connection to host" the only error message that you get? Do you see any or error message on chat before you get the above error? Maybe something like CPW or OOS - CAR?
If possible, run tests from both www.speedtest.net and www.pingtest.net and post the results here. Might be able to see if this is mainly down to internet connectivity issues... When you get the pingtest results - have a look here: http://www.pingtest.net/learn.php
i.e.
I'm not sure what's causing the error - but if you give more details and the post results from above two sites, maybe someone would be able to tell you how to sort it out. Good luck!
PS: If you do manage to sort it out, please post here stating what you did to sort it so someone in the future might be able to do the same if they get the same error.
Although the skin in 1024x1024, the edges if the Falken Tyres logo, the "#" in #64 and Monster logo bring down the quality. When ever possible search for high quality .png logos over maybe .jpg and cutting out the required bits; which will have the jagged edges if not carefully done.
You can make the skin 2048x2048 and it will look better (you'll have to use good quality logos or it will look worse).
If you haven't used logo stretching compensation, have a look at this thread the the required resizing of logos for XR cars to make it look better.
Do you have a specific tribal design in mind? Try googling and link one or two that you like. I'm not a fan of those; not quite sure which are good or bad... The rest of the skin is easy enough to do...
Edit: Although its more rewarding to do it yourself. Can give basic tips if you want to redo the one did. Upload the WIP skin and we'll go from there, if you like...
No, it wasn't; its LFS General Discussion, not anything else. Out of the two threads you pointed out the first is closed (yes, it can be moved to off-topic, but whats the point since its already closed?) and the second is about LFS - its about the user's hotlap/driving.
As stated this should be in Off Topic section. It wont be a at the bottom of the off topic page if it was active. And if you use "new posts" feature like others this'll show up on top as long as its active...

Credits? You might have connected to a cruise server where you have to drive to "earn" cash (credit) so you can afford to buy other cars. But those are only in cruise servers, and NOT race servers, as far as I am aware. When you update the hosts list these servers will be marked "cruise".
Certain race servers have put a restriction where you are not allowed to drive certain cars until you've gained a minimum ammount of LFS-experience points (LFSEI - LFS experience index). Not all servers use this restriction methods, and this is a thrid party server-side addition - which is used to filter out newer drivers with little or no LFS-online data.
The Rockingham and VWS have been done (afaik) for quite some time. You could drive the FOX at Rockingham at track-side Rockingham, UK, since September 2009.
The reason for the delay in releasing both, as those you actually do read Scawen's posts already know, is, I quote,
The downside is that for a while they've been expecting that the tyre would be "finished", so that they could release S3. Eric is supposedly working on more S3 content, as opposed to S1/S2 content updates. No one really knows how long it would take Scawen to re-do the tyre physics.
Hopefully that time would be mere months rather than years. And by the sound of thing, the devs are working full time on LFS. So we might be able to expect far more S3 content than announced so far...
If the devs do read these posts, please consider what was suggested here.
Sorry, I don't know whats wrong.
Howerver, do you have a stable internet connection? What sort of ping do you have to the servers that gives up the error? And out of the servers that you do manage to connect - do you time out or loose connection? I'm just grasping at straws; the error might be due to a completely different issue...
@LittleBandit - As Daniel said you've got to use the original vobs (car shapes), or the connection will be refused (OOS - CAR).
You might have to use all default car vobs. Having a modded one (even if you dont drive that) might throw up the error. Not quite sure how it works.
Is there absolutely no chance of bringing it back? Who ran the show? I joined in late - it folded when I was just starting out in the XFG/XRG servers...
Can we help in any way to help to bring it back/run (check replays etc.) if its gonna bring all you folk back?
I think this has always been the case. I've noticed it before, but until few hours ago I was under the impression that it could be turned of by changing the brake help setting (setting it to off).
@1303s_vortech you can try it yourself, it even happens when using kb (no help/stabilised).
Use auto clutch = no. When the car is about to stall (say you are slowing down but not pressing the clutch), automatically throttle is applied (the green bar increases).
Not quite sure why throttle is automatically applied here. So OP's "Why? Can this be turned off?" stands...
Happened to me a couple of times on Cargame.nl, but not because someone "stole" my driver name, but rather because I have quite a common one - "Silver".
SilverServerMarvel sometimes uses the name "Silver" too, so I get kicked upon connecting (or him, if I'm already connected). I think cargame's Airio is configured to reduce safety rating when that happens; maybe to punish the driver for trying to steal the name (not quite sure if its the case), so nowadays I just use a capital i instead of simple L and no one gets kicked...
