rather comical how most of the criticism in this thread is based on the ridiculous notion that somehow all cars on the road will immediately switch over to electric and the problems that might cause
and on the notion that projects and ideas like iter or desertec are completely nonexistant

for a similarly stupid problem scenario envision a world where suddenly all 7 billion people in the world would drive cars as much as the west does

heh its always fun to see people who dont have any understanding of physics and get their oppinions from top gear discussing a subject like this

Quote from tristancliffe :Oh, you meant Coulombs. I assumed you just didn't know how to do the degrees symbol.

no he didnt its not coulomb
maybe you shouldnt spout your complete lack of knowledge on batteries if youre trying to make a point about them being bad

Quote from E.Reiljans :Also, for 30 kWh battery (just a example), 15 minute charge would need just 2 kVA, which is mere 9 amps at 230V. Some electric heaters, ovens etc use like twice that much.

you might wanna check your math there
to charge a 30kWh battery in 15 minutes you need 120kW of power

Jobs also has a daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs (born 1978), from his relationship with Bay Area painter Chrisann Brennan.[89] She briefly raised their daughter on welfare when Jobs denied paternity by claiming he was sterile

the simple fact is that soldiers are ultimately stupid enough to give up on their free will in favour of "just following orders" for a complex that is ultimately designed to kill people who by some quirk of nature were born outside of a line thats been arbitrarily drawn in the sand

used it daily for about a week now
problems thus far:
- some drivers refuse to install... managed to get one fo the to install properly using windows 7 compatibility mode but i still havent managed to get ogl compatible drivers to install for my intel hd 2000 (the windows drivers work just fine with d3d though)
- for whatever reason it seems to ignore the turn off mintor after x minutes settings and turn it off after about a minute... annoying
- i cant find the advanced look and feel options so im currently unable to change the system font to tahoma... segoe ui is just so damn ugly bleah
- i managed to crash it completely by trying to open cpu z

otherwise its been working perfectly fine

Quote from Hyperactive :Positives like knowing for sure at certain times there is a race, there is a race for every car in the service and the racing is not very likely to be bad when the race eventually happens.

well when a sim is actually alive and kicking its more or less the same with actual proper pickup racing

also its not just that youre only allowed to race at certain times in the day its also that youre forced to drive races of a certain (and rather too long) length on only one track a week

the whole idea of paying through the nose to get my freedom of choice restricted heavily just doesnt make any sense to me

presumably you mean students and unemployed people
ironically the exact kind of peopme who probably have a hard time affording the most ridiculously overpriced sim in the history of sim racing... well with the exception of rc racing sims

Quote from The Moose :I just wish the rFacors and nKPro's of this world could afford to run a structured racing environment like iRacings. That currently is the only thing going for it.

the best thing about iracing is that they only allow you to play it once a fortnight when the moon and the sun align and under no circumstances when it fits your own schedule?

no surprises there

and while nuse certainly is a plonker being a posseur is still a whole bunch better than being stupid enough to drive a car that the rozzers already tagged as being illegal with wrong licence plates
i just hope that when you and your idiot friends inevitably embed yourself in a tree you dont take anyone thats using the same road not belonging to you group of twats with you

a sensible choice would have been the s/f straight or between 3 and 5 to get the cars to bunch up and produce semi exciting overtakes into 7
