I'm all for the 6-hour Race NOT being in Aston, to be honest. Fern Bay Black could make a really good season finale, specially if we're heading to it with the same situation that decided this year's championship.
I see the bad side of this track, though - FZ3 and the BUS go pretty well here, and the XR3 is the car that loses out, so any championship contenders in this car could have a tougher time than the other cars...all this in theory, though, because I could be wrong.

Quote from Emyn :And about the combos, I hope there will be some other combos than in GT1WS/GT2WS.

+1. Some combos like AS5 or KY3 start to get a bit stale because so many leagues use them. Time to start using some combos that aren't used too often like AS6 or AS3 (which wouldn't be that much of a bad fit for a GT3 league). Using shorter combos doesn't sound too bad after looking at the specs of the GT3 cars. Maybe leave a big combo for the 6-hour race (AS5, KY3, FE4, etc), and use tracks like AS3, FE2/3, SO5/6 and BL1 for the other 3-hour races (with potentially one 2-hour race).

For those who haven't been reading the rules, it's worth reminding that YOU WILL NEED A SKIN FROM ROUND 1 ONWARDS. You will have to post it here and use the templates (use any font you want for the number as long as it's readable) made available on the first post. There are no rules on the numberplate colour (they were axed before the test race) so you can use whichever colour you want.

Appearing on the race meeting with no or an invalid skin will automatically exclude you from qualifying and send you to the back of the grid for both races (even if you finish Race 1 on the top 10).

Remember that you also have to put your team tag followed by your number as the driver's license plate (if you have no team, just put your first name).

Orientation Notes:
Drivers who have confirmed for this race will have their names in BOLD.
Drivers who don't have a valid skin posted will have their names in RED.
Drivers who have confirmed their absence for this Round will have their names in SILVER.
And yes, drivers who have confirmed but still have no valid skin will have their names in BOLD RED.
Invalid signups are NOT included in this list.

The layout has been revised - A tyre stack has been taken off the exit of Lind chicane. Even though cornering speeds on the exit will be faster, it is still a 3rd gear section and requires the same braking force when approaching it.

This layout isn't 100% complete as there are still 10 grid spots to be drawn, but most important parts of the layout are finished as the main problems have been addressed.

That exit is supposed to be there, that's the purpose of the damn chicane.

EDIT: I see the point now - I'll do the final touches on the layout and then I'll see if it's worth taking a tyre stack off the chicane exit.

Quote from Dennis93 :Well Rui make it in ****ing time then.

Noted. This exactly is what caused so many screwups from the admin team on the test round. People doing my job because they think I'm too slow at it when I'm actually just about to do it. So thanks but no thanks, just be patient and I'll ****ing get to it.

Quote from Dennis93 :If there's going to be a layout in the chicane, the NDR one is useless, keep some of the speed the original chicane, make something that we can use as curbs because no one think it's fun to drive through a corner so slow....

Well...if you want to keep the speed then we can't really do much about making that chicane tighter like NDR did. It's times like these that I wish it was possible to take the closest tyre stacks off the chicane's apex. Might as well keep it original then.

Quote from Dennis93 :
and we learned from NDR. TBOC that obstacles in the final chicane/corner, was more dangerous than without. originally you already have to cut quite a lot to be in danger from anything there.

True, and that also applied to GT2 this year if I'm not wrong.

Quote from Dennis93 :
and also Rui, before you start ranting about this 'new thread' thing again. 10 days till the race, some racers might put useful info up which the less experienced could you once in a while, so I think that you should just thank other people for taking the initiative to make the thread, no one means it with hate...

And what part did I mean that you were doing this with hate? You and Jake were really nice for doing that for us, but creating threads should be really done by the admins. Once again, be patient and I'll get to it.

Quote from Dennis93 :
...and because you don't simply don't do you job good enough, no. I did it because I had no where else to ask, and making a layout less than 10 days before the race is something which I call poor preparation, and somewhat bad organizing, and possibly worse priorities.
for one, start caring about your own before you start thinking about if everyone has their skins working etc. this is 1/5th of the problem usually.

1. We're not perfect, we still have that racers' mindset of thinking about the next race right after the current one is over, and it's not like I'm already a master at this when it's only the first ever series I work as an admin. Yes, I'm going to **** up and I'm going to learn with it, that's how I've learned things my entire life.
2. The skins' thing is probably my fault, yes I'm too obsessed with attention to detail (how did this discussion begin again?).

Quote from Dennis93 :Another thing, don't you dare edit the message out, let it be a lesson.

Who do you think I am? Matt Kingsbury?

Quote from BlueFlame :+1.

Scumbag series admin.

Whines about too much interest.

HEHehehhe

No comment. So tempted to say something else but I'll just stay quiet.

Sorry but do you mind leaving the thread opening bit to the admins next time? Once is nice enough, twice is pushing it, three times is too much.

Not trying to sound pompous but simple stuff like this is really up to the admins, not the racers (even though it shows your interest in the series, which is good).

Quote from Dennis93 :
is there going to be any kind of layouts for this??

Definitely. We've got to draw the grid spots for the standing start + pace lap. A Diaz chicane? I don't really know, but with the slicks and everything...maybe.

EDIT: Edited thread title.

Portugal may just be starting to wake up to motorsports now that there is someone starting to make an impact on the lower formulae and being backed by a major company, but so far nowadays all he gets is 30 seconds of news coverage on a sunday after winning a race (that's football for ya), but he's definitely destined for great things in the future

Quote from xtraction :
A suggestion i will make, is since Mr. Palmer is helping you out, maybe it wouldnt be such a problem to ask if you can use his general sporting code, and use his rule books as guide lines for yours, as his are near perfection.

We do have our own sporting code - it's just that the rulebook wasn't developed in detail to address situations like the ones we're dealing with now. Although I wouldn't mind taking a page or two off Deko's book, so +1

I'll end this shit once and for all - check the attached image.

We'll give the skinners a bit of breathing room now for their numberplates not to obstruct anything in the skin, so the area in red is where the numberplate can be placed around.

Gotta love how people who didn't even show up for yesterday's race just jump in here to slag people off.

Anyway, nice of Nathan to confess to doing it at least. It won't stop him from getting a team warning and a Revolutionary Racing ban (or shorten it for that matter), but if more people confessed to ****ing up in the heat of the moment...that's worth some respect because it really takes guts to admit that.

Ramon, before you leave, can you leave a post talking about what made you withdraw on the Suggestions thread? Would be pretty cool to have some feedback on what went wrong.

Quote from ChristijaNL :Anyways no hard feelings, i should have known this was gonna happen. Lessons learned and good luck with the rest of the league.

Seems like the standard of behaviour from Round 1 wasn't kept yesterday...I'll have a look at the replays and discuss some things with the guys, since the last thing we need is people withdrawing from this series because of stuff like this. I'll be honest though, we have been considering putting people on season-long probation but it seems like that's definitely not going to be enough. Sorry to see you and Oscar go, though.

Time to check the replay and the code of conduct.

Quote from Bmxtwins :Please note that the numberplate layer is always left unchanged (apart from the number, of course).

Keep this in mind for Round 3 - skins that have a modified numberplate layer will be considered invalid. It doesn't matter if it gets in the way of the team name, it's supposed to stay unchanged at all times.
