Well, you don't know how many people just download it, install it, and uninstall it again do to issues, without any reports.
I have heard about such things already a couple of times, where people knew how to reproduce a bug, but didnt post it. (I told them to post that here, or I posted those report myself)

So, apparently none of the browsers is worth to be compared with LFS

Its the exensions that make firefox strong. Of course it doesnt look nice with the default theme, and it isnt fast aswell. Install FasterFox and Opera is just junk

Also, Opera is not really a good browser for web developers.

I'd say Opera is rFactor, FireFox is LFS and IE is NFS:U STFU!

Well unlocking is supposed to work in Vista now, though, so you should probably report this in the test patch thread so Scawen can take a look at it.

There was a thread exclusively for Vista unlocking aswell, but the Forum search gave so many sesults of equal threads that IM not sure which thread Scawen will actually read.

Actually I think the effect would be the opposite
With the video like its now, the eye is busy all the time to follow the wheel movement (in the direction the car is moving, not the suspension travel and tyre deformation), which is the thing you are looking at. Nobody will look at the background - the eye can only focus on points and the rest gets rather blurred out (less optically but more "attention-wise").

I love it but it would be even nicer if the camera would follow the interesting part. The way it is now, the tyres and wheels are mostly blurred or not really sharp. Also there were some situations where parts of the tyres were hidden by some track part that was closer to the camera.
Maybe the GTI setup could be a bit softer aswell (no ARBs).

The blackscreen bug doesnt seem to be an LFS bug, when it happends in windows after you exit LFS

The 2nd problem is weird aswell, have you tried to reinitialize controllers? Shift + C

Maybe it's a good idea to send an LFS email to all Users that have only an S1 account, so they will know that it makes sense to actually go online again

I'm sorry that I can't change our ZT server to S1 mode because it's also used for leagues (GTR cars mostly) and it would be annoying to change it all the time. (time, which I dont have anyways )

Most videos dont use the lfs sound anyway

Graphical doesnt obviously have to mean "zomg new eingine!!11".
New cockpits or improved tracks are gfx aswell

No, this is the test patch thread, and it has nothing to do with beta testing.
Test patches just contain new bugfixes, sometimes a few new compatible features.

But the beta testers get the new and interesting stuff - new content and physics.
Tose beta testers are just a couple of ppl, around 20, that are allowed to test also new features, like the new Fern Bay, the new Cockpits or the new RB4 and LX models.

I also had this blackscreen bug a few times, and I never use Alt-Tab.
But what I did was resizing the LFS window RIGHT after LFS switched to windowed mode (because the "my computer"-icon is hidden under it )
However, when I tried to reproduce that, it didn't work

Are you using some extremely large custom menu background, or a certain jpg that is not ok?
I remember this weird bug that a few racers had on my website, which was caused by IE6 destroying the cache files when using a gif created by Picture Publisher 8...

I tried your description a couple of times now, and can't reproduce that...
Are you clicking very fast or is there anything else that could matter?

But as game developer you should be able to get msdn access easily, so you can download most MS programs for free

If you are not planning to sell the notebook (or warranty?), you can of course get a Windows XP pro CD from someone and use the CD key from the installation of the old notebook. It's mostly written down on a sticker at the bottom of the laptop, and on the manual / CD case whtever.
