Quote from Feffe85 :I think what ChiliFan meant was that rFactor is crap, physics wise..

Except that it's really not It's just that most mods are made by people who don't have a clue as to what they're doing

Quote from MadCatX :(...) what would be the point of driving it if you knew that the handling is just wrong?

Well, we've been driving all the other cars in LFS for all these years while their handling was wrong as well, obviously

****in' A, that's awesome The drummer really carries that show, without him it'd just be an average band doing a cover.

All that perfectly good oil gone to waste, while we're running low as it is. Depressing, indeed

The way I see the whole Hammilton - Button deal is as follows:

McLaren: Lewis, you need to save fuel, both cars are doing the same (this is very important to note).

Lewis: Jenson is closing in on me, you guys. Ie. how can he be doing the same if he's closing in on me?

Lewis: If I back off, will Jenson pass me? Ie. have you told Jenson to save fuel as well like you said or not?

McLaren: No, Lewis, no (call me crazy but just from the way the guys says it I think you can tell he's lying).

It was a legitimate question from Lewis and his reaction after the race was very understandable. He didn't expect the team to give him an easy victory, but if the team says to him to save fuel and that Jenson is doing the same, but Jenson gains rapidly on him when he backs off it's very understandable that he's confused and wants to know what the **** is going on. Ie. am I racing Button or is he on fuel saving mode as well.

5haz, I have to agree with the other guys on this one. Yes, it's a race but team orders have existed for a long long time now and as a racing driver it's only logical that you expect your team to give you accurate information. If they'd said "Yeah, there's a chance Button will make a move" then he would have been more defensive and Button would likely not have been able to get so close to him. But the team assured him he was on fuel saving mode as well and would not make a move so obviously he was surprised when Button did what he did.

I mean... it's totally understandable, I don't see what you don't get or find so strange or whatever

Quote from arco :Dunno why they removed it for ALL the cars. Could at least have left that option for some of the cars, like the GTR's.

Why is that? Do real GTR cars have auto-blip? Genuine question, not being sarcastic.

Nope, like pretty much all mp3 players the car stereo probably reads the info from the ID3 tags. If they're not filled in (correctly) it will obviously not show up (correctly). I guess that's what you get if you download mp3's from torrents that haven't been properly ripped from the CD I ****ing hate it when I download an album and the tags aren't filled in.

Anyway, I use Tag & Rename to manage my tags. If you have at least named your mp3's in a consistent manner (like artistname - songname.mp3) you can set it up to automatically write the correct tags based on the filename for all your songs, shouldn't take more than a few clicks.

Try iRacing

Or if you want to stick with LFS, try some other servers. There's a few good ones, I should think.

Quote from Tomtheman70 :I too would like to get an update on what's been going on with the developers. It's been too long since we've heard from you guys.

Oh, I can do that for you.

I'm still working on the new tyre model and it still isn't finished.

Seriously, what else would you expect to hear that Scawen hasn't already said (multiple times) before? Until he finishes work on the new tyre model and whatnot, there simply isn't much to report

Quote from JazzOn :You are right, I am just saying he should not have faith in Webber which cost him his own race.

Can you agree on that?

If you mean he shouldn't trust Webber to just roll over and let him pass easily then yes, I agree. He shouldn't trust any driver to do that, by the way.

Quote from JazzOn :But Pringels, he was overtaken already.

No. He. Wasn't. Vettel was like half a car length ahead of Webber when he swerved right. He wasn't past Webber, ie. he hadn't overtaken Webber. He was in the process of overtaking him but steered to the right too early and into Webber. As has been said many times before, they were still quite a way removed from the braking zone so really... there was no reason for Vettel to move to the right like he did.

Webber held his line, as was his every right. Vettel steered into him.

Quote from Danny LFS :Q: Is LFS Dying?
A: You think so? Go play rFactor then! Oh wait, that's dying too...

You make it sound as if rFactor is the only alternative, which isn't the case I would think the sim that is currently drawing the most people away from LFS is iRacing

Quote from rich_hobo94 :How about a thread titled "Thanks Devs for all the hard work and keep it up!"????

Quote from stefan_70 :Ok first off, I have not read the entire thread for obvious reasons so this issue has probably been addressed before. Secondly I am a big fan of Papyrus and Dave Kaemmer all the way back to Indy500 and have been following the development of the iRacing-sim since it was first announced.

But, MY problem with iRacing is that you first have to buy all the content for a ridiculous amount of money but still don't own it. Because then you MUST pay a subscription to even have a private practice session. That's a 100% rip-off in my book.

Paying a subscription to race in their leagues is an ok deal, but having to pay extra money, if my league-subscription's run out, just to have a few private laps; FORGET IT! It's never gonna happen!

But, allow private practice sessions without having to subscribe and I would join iRacing at once!

Just my view. Anybody else feel this way?

Yeah, that's come up and been discussed before. Ad nauseum. On pretty much every single sim racing forum I think it's safe to say any possible arguments both for and against the subscription system have been stated hundreds of times already There's tons of people who feel the same way and tons of people who disagree.

In the end what it comes down to is: it is what it is and you either love it or leave it. Plain and simple.

EDIT: just thought I'd point out you don't have to buy all the content to get started. I'm sure you know this but just thought I'd mention it as in your post you say "you first have to buy all the content", which isn't the case. The initial investment to get started can be as little as $5 if you use on of their many promotions. After that you just pay your subscription every month if you want to keep racing, and any additional content you want, that's up to you. If you want a break from racing then simply stop renewing your subscription.
