Quote from Tukko :+10000 to that. Thats the main reason why I don't race there that much anymore.. there's always some no-lifer, who have got enough points for teh XRT he/she can't handle, ruining other peoples races

Never seen that happen

Quote from Arsenic_Fox :...I miss CTRA... i even went and redownloaded LFS expecting to be able to race on CTRA again, but now on my 23" screen. ._. i also miss the bump and jump.

Any chance for at least a CTRA sanctioned server? Not necessarily with all the bells and whistles, but something that at least gives the feeling of a CTRA server?

o.o And of course i didn't read all the other posts. I'm too busy crying over the fact that i just spent 3 hours getting something all ready that I can't enjoy now. XD

Oh wait, so you're saying you miss CTRA? I didn't quite get that from your other posts in other threads

Could you please define "the feeling of a CTRA" server, as I'm not sure what you mean by that? Try the LR server, that's probably your best shot. Usually packed to the brim during the European peak hours and the racing is very decent.

Quote from teedot :LFS without CTRA is much better in my opinion. CTRA was, and apparently still is, overrated.

Agreed.

Quote from Dajmin :My only problem with the CTRA system was that it was a major grind for us middle-pack finishers. I was forced to level up on cars I didn't really like and I don't think I ever actually qualified for the second server. I don't mind having to prove I'm not a wrecker, but a bit more of a reward for racing cleanly would've been nice.

Agreed.

Quote from teedot :
The racing on the LR servers is very similar to the CTRA system, but it does seem to have some extra features that reward individual performance as well as that of the group (if what I've been told is true). So you might get loads more points for actually winning, but you're also rewarded for beating your previous bests.

I think the LR server is great and actually a better place to race than the CTRA servers ever were because at peak hours it is really really packed; the server allows more people to race than the CTRA servers did. The bigger the grid the better, IMO.

However, from the few times I've been on it seemed to me that it would take me forever to increase my ranking enough to drive the TBO's (I'm also a middle-pack finisher). But there's great racing to be had in the XFG/XRG as well, so...

Quote from Intermediate07 :LR Race Center is only good for TBO lovers

How did you get to that conclusion? I've only ever seen one (1) guy drive a TBO car on there, on a full server.

I for one hope the CTRA doesn't come back

Quote from navigator98 :Use Imgburn to burn your iso files....
Select the iso file with imgburn and done .
Insert the disk into your laptop (CD boot might be not even needed) and install Win7 :P its sooo easy.

He already said he got it working in post #8, but now has other problems. Please read a thread before replying.

All you guys reciting stats are aware that they're not real, right?

Hmm, that does seem like a proper solution. Indeed a tad bit expensive. Besides, I can't really see myself playing Forza 2 with my G25 using anything else than cockpitview... which isn't available in FM2 Using a steering wheel with a chase view is just way too awkward IMO.

Quote from Nathan D. :PS: Please no unofficial comments until an official statement has been made by someone that works for LFS that knows that reason.

If you don't want people replying to your topic you shouldn't start one on a forum. If you're only interested in hearing an "official" statement you could just send an email to one of the developers

Cool, I didn't know that That's handy. Not that I'll ever be likely to use it as I pretty much race on one server exclusively but still

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Well I like to race online, because no matter what car I have I always win against the AI. They are just too slow and clumsy to even bother with.

I call bullshit on that statement. Sure you'll always win if you pick a car that's way faster than the cars the AI are driving. Try choosing a car with a P.I. that's not the highest of the grid, and without upgrades. Or simply do the Factory Spec series. Oh, and you may want to look at what strength you have the AI set at.

Hmm, all scoreboards appear to be empty as well. Maybe they're making changes to the system in preparation of FM3 or something

Is there a problem with the Forzamotorsport service? I logged in to see what pictures I had online and it shows nothing. No stats, either. It's been ages since I uploaded a pic or even visited the site, though, I don't know if that has something to do with it? Maybe they delete "inactive" members or something?

Quote from batteryy :i liked making cars to the max, U class lancia delta integrale:lovies3d:
also i had a U class fairlady

The Delta is the one I'm driving the most now in the carreer I started from scratch. I haven't done anything to it yet, though. It's a joy to drive, that one.

I've also got the Fairlady but haven't tried that one yet. Both cars I got as a prize.

Quote from BlueFlame :Damage means loss of prizemoney!

Boohoo Unless they crash into you full speed (which they normally don't do unless you spin out and strand on the racing line) the amount of money you miss out on will be negligible IMO. Besides, you'll end up with more money than you know what to do with anyway. At least I did Then again, I didn't upgrade each and every car I own to the max. Only the ones that needed upgrading.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Oh and I don't agree with trying to race the AI, they dive bomb and ram you off the road, it's never a fair fight and they are always dirty, so I just upgrade the tits off my car and make sure I have a clean race with no damage penalties.

You must be playing a completely different game than I am then, because I find the AI to be very competent, changing their lines when you get alongside them, braking earlier when you brake earlier etc etc. There's some very good fights to be had with them, I must say. Of course, in the end they are still only artificial, but I find them to be the best AI of any racing game I've played. LFS' AI are a complete joke compared to them.

It is unfair that you get a penalty when an AI bumps into you but really... who the **** cares about a time penalty of a couple tenths of a second? It's about the racing. If you want to hotlap go do time trials.

I just started the carreer mode again from scratch with a different account. I like to keep my cars as "standard" as possible for as long as possible. Ie. I only upgrade them when I really can't win races anymore, and usually then I'll only upgrade stuff to improve the handling and not the power, eg. tyres, suspension, anti-rollbars and brakes. It's more fun to win in a car that is underpowered but has more grip in corners. Makes the racing much more intense

Are you sharing specific folders? You won't see any shared files/folders unless you specify which folders should be shared. Rightclick -> sharing.

Also, how are you trying to see the shared files? By typing in an ip somewhere or what? I always just open Windows Explorer and type "\\Computername" in the addressbar, with "Computername" being the name of the computer that you want to access, obviously. Works like a charm
