Quote from The Very End :Scawen said that it would be fixed before S2 goes final, so don't worry.

Somehow that doesn't reassure me at all

I agree with dougie here. These "right" break-in procedures are highly overrated. Just use your common sense - ie. don't redline it when it's cold, don't redline it in neutral, obvious stuff like that - and you won't notice the slightest difference as opposed to when you follow "the rules". Besides, there's so many different break-in "tutorials" that contradict each other, each with their own plausible arguments and mechanics to support them and whatnot, who even knows which way is the "right" way anyway

Now, I'll agree that there is a very noticeable difference between a car owned by a 70 year old grandma who only uses to go to the supermarket around the block and never goes above 2000rpm, and a car that's been driven by a younger person, properly going through the revs and the gears. But I don't think that applies here, seeing as it's a pretty sporty car and you're no grandma

It would be quite laughable if that bug (still) wasn't fixed in S3. Somehow I doubt it will be, though

Why is this thread still open? Seriously. It seems to me that it's served its purpose, there's nothing more to say. I say close it, sticky it and be done with it.

EDIT:
Quote from kingcars :I was just looking at the latest patch threads and seeing all the "Thanks for [such and such] feature!" posts was just great as opposed to some other boards where fans are highly displeased with the developers' shenanigans. Props to the LFS dev team...can't wait to see what you guys have cookin'!

Have you read this forum lately? Or even this thread?

Quote from rockclan :What happens if a Demo user changes the training car to for example the XRR?
Does he haz teh XRR then?

Quote from dougie-lampkin :I also made sure that if I put in an S1/S2 car, a demo LFS couldn't drive the lesson, so I see no problem doing this

Quote from G!NhO :Rigs of rods? From trucks to racing toilets, anything is possible.

Quote from 5haz :Or hopefully not Rigs of Rods style physics, where everything is made out of jelly.

All the stuff I've seen from that looked pretty crappy. If I'm not mistaken it's open for modding and most (if not all) of the mods are community made, right? So like rFactor 95% of the mods are probably pure shite, with a handful of quality mods. However, while some mods may have decent physics I doubt there is anything else, like an environment with businesses with which you can interact, deliver cargos for, maintaining your truck etc etc? Not quite what I'm looking for

Quote from LFSn00b :He meant that you can replace the lesson layouts with your own layout on the lesson folder, and it would work on demo.

No, that's not what he meant, and it's not what he wrote either

This will be exactly the same as all the other 18WoS series. In other words: crap. I'll admit I enjoyed the first two games in the series well enough - a long time ago now - but seriously, they keep putting out "new" games every year but they're virtually all the same! They all have the same awful awful awful awful physics, the same boring boring boring boring environments, the same bugs,...

There isn't a trucking game out yet that has proper physics. Rig 'n' Roll - due out later this year in Russia and early next year in the rest of the world - looked interesting for a long time, but the more details are revealed of the game the more it looks to be just another arcade style truck racing game instead of a more sim-like trucking game. They claim that the physics are realistic but I don't know... I have my doubts. I'll probably download it once it comes out to see if it's any good, but I really wish someone would make a proper trucking sim. Yes, most people would find it boring as hell, but there's definitely a market for it, albeit a small one.

There's another trucking game in development - also in Russia, I believe -, called Headlight, and that looks to be a decent sim, but it's hard to find much info about it (unless maybe you speak Russian) and there's no way of telling how long it will be before it's released, if it even gets finished. Rig 'n' Roll has been in development for what, 7 years now?

I've been waiting for a proper trucking game like... forever! Scawen, get your ass in gear! Forget about the Scirocco, we want 18-wheelers!

Quote from Flame CZE :What's the point of all this? You can manually copy all the layouts of the lessons to your layout folder and drive it single player mode.

I thought demo users couldn't use Layouts?

Quote from Gekkibi :Ah, remembered what my IRL friend once said: "Why buy a license when you can get the XRT for free using older patch?"

Your friend is right if you're not interested in online racing. Which is what LFS - and any racing sim, for that matter - is all about. Who wants to race against artificial opponents, these days?

Quote from sil3ntwar :I am thinking of buying the below bike. Legally its a bit of a no no as im only allowed on a 250 but the price is good and i have always wanted the big brother to my GPX 250. Tough decision as the money could be put to other things such as another trip off to China

Personally I wouldn't spend money on a bike I'm not legally allowed to ride

Hmm, 1.9 GB isn't that much, but my 10GB HD is getting a little small. Especially if I want to install games on the drive to reduce loading times and noise. I'm planning on buying a larger one. Can I just buy any Xbox360 HD and stick on my 'box or are not all HD's compatible with every model?

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Last I checked there were very few servers for S1 licencees.

That's because there isn't a distinction anymore between S1 and S2 servers like there used to be. There's plenty of servers available for people with an S1 license to join. Like BreadC and manneF1 said, as long as the server is running S1 content you can join with an S1 license.

Quote from dougie-lampkin :Suit yourself, but a classic Mini will take a BMW MINI any day

Classic P:W = 65 bhp : 620 kg = 1:9.54 (1.3l 90's Sprite)
New P:W = 95 bhp : 1175 kg = 1:12.37 (1.6l '09 One)

No argument there, but I like to have a little luxury and comfort in my car I have to admit, though, that I've never driven a classic Mini.

Quote from PaulC2K :what a fulfilling life you must lead.

Still doesnt explain why you feel you need to make such a statement, when your surrounded by people who make the exact same statements about LFS. Its as if you expected something different... so why so suprised?
Its just a pointless statement about something because you want to moan, im not sure how thats better than a load of people expressing enthusiasm for something in a thread discussing that matter, it isnt in a thread discussing how to end world hunger, what exactly where you expecting, complaints? or is that just what you WANTED to find?

Jesus, the way you're taking this you'd think I offended you personally or something Did I struck a chord with you with the insecurity thing?

It was meant in jest. Pointless statement? Yeah, it probably was. But then so are 90% of all the posts on this forum. It was no more pointless than the post it was in response to, IMO. Why did I feel the need? I just read that comment and that was simply what popped into my mind Nothing more to it. Hell, if I knew it was gonna get your panties in such a twist I wouldn't have bothered.

Quote from PaulC2K :While LFS players are completely different?

No, they're exactly the same or even worse, and that annoys me to no end as well sometimes.

Quote from PaulC2K :
I bet if we went through your forum history there would be at least 1 example of you sucking LFS c*ck

You're free to search, but I don't think you'd come up with much.
Quote from PaulC2K :
...so if you want to bitch to a handful of people who express their excitement about something, theres plenty of threads on this forum to keep you busy for a lifetime, so go bother them instead of being an boring ass in here.

Yeah but see, then I wouldn't have annoyed you enough to make you write that post, so I chose to do it here just for you

Quote from Furiously-Fast :65% complete, and looks like this already, WOW! So much better looking than that Plastic Sim racer on the 360.

I find it funny that the GT players seem to need to continually convince themselves that "their" game is the better one, by stating it over and over and over and over Almost like they're insecure about it in some way

Quote from jibber :Since they live in a household together, and both make money (and split it)? Would be my guess...

I live in a household as well, and we have a little baby boy together. I still don't get it We each contribute equally to cover all the household expenses and the rest of our money is our own to spend whichever way we want. I seriously cannot imagine having to justify myself to my partner every time I want to buy something for my personal entertainment But hey, as long as you're happy, right?

Btw, sorry for the OT

Quote from Dajmin :Still trying to talk the other half into letting me pre-order so I can get the special cars

See, that's what I don't get. Why do you need to talk your missus into letting you pre-order the game? You have a job, you earn money, you put food on the table... why would you then need anyone's permission to pre-order a game with your money? Provided that you have the money to spare, of course, which I assume you do.
