Quote from Dajmin :You don't get to check a lobby name - you have to just keep re-searching until you get the right one. Would make life much easier if you added at least one of the potential racers to your friends list so they can just hop straight in. Then their friends do the same, and their friends, and their friends... oh right, pesky 8 car limit

Alright then, I've added Luke S. and Greboth, and have accepted a request from CupricTunder, I suppose it's also one of you guys here

Quote from Deutschland2007 :I haven´t yet raced on the DMR server, but I think they got some canalboat racing at FE3 currently and their server only has 18 spots.

Haha, nice description of the FZ50 there

Yes, the server has "only" 18 slots but IMO that really is more than enough. Of course, compared to the 47 (?) slots of the LR server it may not seem much, but it's enough to provide good racing. Besides, it rarely gets full except on popular combo's So if you're looking for the numbers the LR server has then dMr might not be for you

Also, we have Forced Cockpit View enabled. Just to keep Zeug away (j/k)

Alright, after a bit of testing I've decided to go with the B class cars; they're fast enough to provide a challenge but still easy enough to drive so you don't need to be über skilled to drive them So you can get testing and choose your cars

I honestly don't know if mine is fast but it just handles so lovely.

I think 5 laps on every track is enough, no?

As for adding people to my friends list... I was actually thinking of just starting a game tonight at the agreed time and call it LiveForSpeed and then anyone who wants to join can join it? I think that's easier than having to invite every player seperately, especially since I don't have anyone in my friends list The game should be easy to find if you just search for B class races.

Quote from brt900 :im up for it i prefer b class as then we can use some lotuses for good handling etc

B is what I would prefer as well

Quote from Greboth :Sounds like fun, If I can make it on ill come on for a bit. Tbh the ebst racingI have had on forza is where it is forced to one car. However I prefer the A class cars as they are quick and provide some challenge due to the power of them.

I've thought about making it only one car - maybe even just factory spec - but then you'll almost always have people that don't like that particular car and driving a car you don't like just isn't fun. So for now I think I'll give people some choice of car and upgrades so they can set their car up to their own liking.

Quote from beefyman666 :A, B or C class racing is all good.

I've been thinking about sorting out some cars that are slightly tuned that will be made fixed. I've tested out 3 cars so far, but need some more people to test them out. If you're interested, drop me a PM and i'll send the details of the cars.

If anyone is good at making setups, i'd be grateful with some help at making at setup that everyone could use to make it more even racing.

Is it possible to send setups to other players then? Or how would you get everyone to have the same setup?

How about we have a little get together tonight? The other day I spent 15 minutes trying to find and join a multiplayer race without succes so I gave up in frustration. I've actually only ever had 1 multiplayer race in Forza 2 and it wasn't really that fun, but maybe with some fellow LFS'ers we can get some good racing in?

I was thinking of creating a game tonight say between 7 - 8pm GMT. Car class would be B or C as I think they offer the best racing; I don't like the R class cars and especially dislike S and U class cars.

As for the tracks I was thinking of a US theme with:
  • Laguna Seca
  • Maple Valley
  • Sebring
  • Road Atlanta
Open for suggestions, of course.

The only assist allowed would be ABS, everything else disabled.

Whaddaya say?

Quote from BlueFlame :Who wants to race with the standard rFactor cars? Not me thats for sure, and I hazard a guess to say more than 70% of the community don't either.

You're right, the default rF cars are crap, but the fact remains that pickup racing in rFactor is almost non-existant, except maybe if you're running a very popular mod. I love the HistorX mod but there's virtually no online racing to be found outside of organized leagues/events, and that's a damn shame.

Rfactor has good mods too, enduracers one is damn good, just stay away from the home-made crap and you will be ok.

I find it funny that you list Enduracers as "a damn good one" while an experienced and acknowledged rFactor modder says its physics are nowhere realistic

How you guys manage to do those paintjobs is beyond me. I so totally suck at doing paintjobs that I've given up on it I just leave my cars in one color

I've been having the same problem with my G25 shifter for quite some time now. I've been wanting to get a Lightning SST shifter but I don't have that kind of money at the moment

As for trying to fix the shifter myself, I don't know the first thing about that kind of stuff so I think it's best to keep my hands off of it. It sure frustrates the hell out of me, though, and has cost me quite a few positions and races.

Quote from wolfsbane3083 :Also if the lack of sequential shifter is a problem just use a g25 shifter with the g27 should work a treat.

Nope, apparently that doesn't work.

Man... I'd so hit that!

Oh right, uhm... about the G27 Yeah, I'll echo what has been said here; I don't see any reason to upgrade from a G25 to a G27. In fact I don't even see a reason to buy a G27 even if you don't already have a wheel, as it has no sequential shifter. You're still better off with a G25.

*sigh* Why did you feel the need to reply to a post that's nearly 2 years old with a reply that's totally off topic? Jesus, it really is impossible to have a thread about any Xbox game without ps3 guys coming in stating how they prefer ps3 over xbox. It gets so very very tiresome.

And it might just be me but I don't think I've seen it happen much the other way around; there are threads about ps3's and their games and the Xbox players leave those alone.

Quote from Niels Heusinkveld :Speed sensitivity is EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really it should NEVERNEVER be used in simracing. Its just a way to make people with analog gamepads stand a chance. Its not a matter of personal preference either, it is simply evil and wrong.

I'm not a fan of 'exaggerate yaw' either as that throws me off much more than it (tries to) help but let me say it again:

Speed sensitivity is EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, I never touched anything in that screen as I have no idea what any of that stuff does so yes, that's what I have it set at I'll turn the speed sensitivity off and see if I notice a difference.

EDIT: you're right, it does feel better

Quote from anttt69 :Thx for the info .
Ok i bought the upgrade but in my garage i have sesitivity @ 100% & digital something @ 63% i cant see the option for steering lock & nor can i find the page to set the g25 to 900deg?

aarghh this is messy to say the least, although i have it almost drivable. just need a bit more steering lock.

You set your G25 to 900° in Windows. Not in the game.

As for the steering lock and other setup options, when you're in a race weekend or track day or whatever and you're in the main screen (ie. you haven't exited the pits yet) there should be a tab Garage. You should go there. I'm guessing you went to the Settings tab. I'll try to add some screenshots of the screens to my post, to clarify.

EDIT: the settings in the last screenshot GRAB_027 are mostly down to personal preference. I don't think I have touched anything there.

Quote from anttt69 :ah ha im getting somewhere now (loving the engine sounds btw). I have some steering, but it is very unresponsive how do i adjust the steering rate or sensitivity?

You have to buy the "adjustable steering ratio" upgrade for your car. Then just go in the garage where you setup your car and set the steering lock to 24°-26°, that seems to work best for nearly every car. Also don't forget to set your G25 to 900°.

Also, if you want to make the in-game steering wheel's movement match your physical wheel's, do this:

Quote :To make the in-game wheel rotate the same amount as the wheel in front of you, go to UserData\"your username in rf"\ folder, open the Controller.ini find this line

Code:
Steering Wheel Range="xxx"
Change xxx for whatever the steering wheel rotation you are using.

Sounds to me like it's a load of bullcrap and that site won't be around for very long. My invite hasn't come through yet so I can only go by what I read here but... like BlakjeKaas said, nothing is free. A site that "gives" away stuff for points that you earn in a 2D arcade game can't work unless they get a considerable income, and the guys running that site will sure as hell not be paying that stuff out of their own pocket. So either it's a scam or there's a catch. Like "sign up for only $9.99 and get xxxxxxx ". You won't see that now, obviously. First they need to get the hype going - which they seem to be successful at - and get sufficient idiots erhm... I mean members signing up.

Quote from anttt69 :The game does not recognise the steering input. Everything is installed i was just asking about the order which to do the install.

I have a g25.

Does it recognize the pedal inputs? Have you made sure you've assigned the right axis to the controls in the controls screen by clicking eg. steering and then moving your steering wheel etc.?

Quote from anttt69 :Can anyone help with my broken steering? (historix with rf)

What exactly is the problem? And what steering wheel do you have? Have you got the HistorX mod installed then? I seem to remember you saying that you couldn't get it to install properly.

Realfeel is included with the HistorX mod complete with configuration guidelines and everything so there's no need to install it first.
