its hard to get one set for all tracks because some are totally different. it could be put down to like 5 sets or so that would perform ok i guess.

Quote from amv :hi guys, I'm new to LFS and I'm frustrated at my 1.38.xx hotlap at Blackwood using XFG and I was hoping someone can tell me what's wrong with my driving and how to improve.

I use a logitech momo racing wheel (270 degrees, autoclutch)

I watch the WR's and compare it with hotlap analyzer, analyze for speed and lfs replay analyzer, also I download the wr's as spr to see them drive.. it looks so easy by looking and analyzing, but I just can't seem to improve.

I just try to maintain the curve speed I see in WR, but I simply fail, I end up turning to much and sliping tires to avoid getting out of track.

here's my hotlap SPR:
http://www.lfsworld.net/get_spr.php?file=70004

any hits/tips would be very welcome, not by just telling what's wrong, but also how to gradually improve it.

It'd really help to see my own (or other) cars in ghost mode in LFS, is that possible? I've seen a ghost car mod but it no longer works in current version of LFS. is there any alternatives to that mod?

thanks guys!!

im at work, so i cant see replay, but im gonna ask one obvious question. what set are you using?

Quote from MadCatX :Well, this tread won't die easily, will it? Anyway, I can't help myself, but these points you made here are just invalid.

What kind of syndrome would that be? Yes, there is some tension between racers and "other-stuff-on-the-track-performers", but really, can you blame racers for being somewhat annoyed when there is a lot of cruisers crying for some cruising specific stuff? Not to mention that 90% of these suggestions are years old and have been discussed to the death.

It's an achievement as anything else it. The fact that you personally don't value it much doesn't change that.

So you're implying that there IS something that gives you the right to be an arrogant egoist?

I don't think that's true. Moreover, why do you think that these "fastest guys" should be setting some sort of example on the forums? I don't think much of us care how good you are at playing LFS because it doesn't matter. Anyone around here has the right to offer help, express his/her opinion or be a dick. It's up to you which way you choose, but just the fact you have few WR's does not predestine you to anything.

This is the only part of your post I agree with. This argument has been stupid from the get go and so am I right now for letting it continue...

well as i agree that its stupid argument ill keep it short, just to answer the questions.

1. What kind of syndrome would that be? --> if you see people in lfs acting like dicks there's 50% they are top of the crop in terms of speed. Now i might be wrong, but thats what i experienced so far. And not only vs. cruisers, but also vs. new guys that came to game recently etc.

2. Well you're right here, nothing is worth of being arrogant egoist, that still doesnt go against my statement that being fast in lfs isnt worth of that too.

3. Why do i think that fastest guys should be setting an example? Well, do we want good and healthy community or no? Putting slower drivers (or in this case, drivers that prefer other styles of driving) down is not really a way to go i believe.

ps : anyhow, my post was directed at core guy, and how stupid is for someone to go on forum of a game that he doesnt play anymore and argue about it with people that actually do play.

try f08 with oval set. that will not start straight when on full throttle!

just saw this and i gotta jump in and say that if you think that cruisers dont need lfs physics and compare them as you did then you suffer of a syndromme that some other "top" LFS racers got too.

Yes, you guys are fast. in a computer game. hat off. But being fast in a computer game is not somewhat of an achievement, and doesnt give you right to be ignorant egoist.

What sucks is that it always come from the fastest guys, you guys should be strongest links in LFS community, helping others, being sensible and not trying to put everyone down basking in your own -self perceived glory-.

Some of cruise people are really fast, and some of fast racers go and cruise sometimes. So anyone that cruise basically cant drift nor race? Sorry to break your dreams, but they can.

im finding rac more and more unsuitable for racing on cargame, because it is too light, easy to crash out by other cars.

i often have problems with xfr's that just bump a bit, but a bit of bump hurts alot in rac. also had funny situation yesterday, was driving for a first time on fe4r with rac, and kinda obviously, my lap was quite slow, i wasnt really pushing, just trying to get an idea of what gear to use for some corners etc., and a guy with fxo just crashes me out from behind because he was sick of driving behind me

im racing it when ever i go on cargame, i find tbo, gti and gtrs rather boring so i always go with lxs or rac.

had a nice fight with lx6 guys yesterday, it kinda awesome when you are fighting in a car that is just waiting to go off track, same with lx6 guy, but we had nice races :o

basically, i use rac to improve my fox driving skill, since i started handling foxhas become a child play, when it starts to go away from me, i can catch it with ease

didnt he drove it on pre-Silverstone test?

i dont know where is the problem actually.

as said above, if you like tbo's, there are 3 or 4 servers that are tbo only.
if you like gti's, there's shitload of demo servers.
if you like open wheels you got fox junkies
if you like gtr you got amg server
only cars that dont have server on its own that is of any use are rac, lx's and fz5. But for that u can use multiclass servers.

I was quite sceptic about IHR when it first popped up, but found it insane fun, cargame also, even though i stick more to the fox server. People there are usually vary of other races, some contacts may appear (but in how many F1 races there are contacts? almost all?), but there's no wreckers there. Ones that are there can be removed with a single forum post.

and as for the exp and stuff. You gotta understand that in multiclass servers you cant really allow everyone to have every car. So if you need 1000 points for something like lx6 (dont know how much u need really, didnt bother to check at any time) that means that you can drive gti and tbo until then, so when you get 1000 points, we can all be sure you got enough experience to handle that little mother***** of lx

same with gtr. i dont think i would be too happy to drive round in lx4 and have someone new to lfs crashing around me in gtr. guys that have acess to gtr on multiclass, usually can drive it quite well (excluding me )

so after all the jibberish i wrote, i still dont understand where's the problem.

i play it when my work allows me to, online on weekends, quite less on weekdays.

as much as im concerned, i dont need patch, racing is whats important, give me a bicycle and ill race it with you. SO im more than happy to go and race fox over and over and over again.

Actually, if you spend 2 hours in junkies fox server, you would see more people than they posted here, at evenings there are full races, 32 grid lately. Its been quite empty for few months, but things went for better lately. Cargame is also full and insane fun.

And we had over 100 racers to qualify for UFB league. UFB is not even a regular car! Lfs dieing, lol wat?

ps. my number of forum posts might deceive you, but do check numbertwo on lfsw to see that i play quite enough.

lag can be a problem sometimes, but you can always just give a little bit of space infront

IMO, best server i ever played on LFS. had some great races around, some battles at so4 and bl1 were ridiculously great, had one race on bl1 where we had 3 wide on every lap at the backstraight and no one ever touched or crashed
