You would be right with Porsche, even though it is only in qualy mode, so that would probably mean just short bursts.

Rimac nevera, currently strongest production car, has cca 350 kw x 4 motors.

Considering this is racing sim and it should be future proof, i guess I'm going to contradict my first post and agree with OP that stronger electric engines should be allowed in LFS.

Is it realistic to have single motor over 500 kw though?

Quote from loopingz :Yes but LFS 0.7A is no longer online compatible with later versions (it was at the beginning).

But if all relevant racing servers stay 0.7A, then there is no need to upgrade LFS from 0.7A higher.

Quote from Roofus :Is this the death of lazy? Frown

Doesn't it still work on 0.7A?

I do agree its pointless rubbish and mostly refrain from posting. Good luck on development.

Quote from Scawen :1) Check the graph instead of making up information:
https://www.lfsworld.net/?win=hosts&whichTab=licensed_history&t=600
(Racers & Hosts online... History... 600 days)

2) Have you actually read what this thread is about? I don't get the idea of complaining "X isn't happening" on the thread which is all about "X is happening".

3) You have probably forgotten that, due to piracy, this business was no longer earning us enough to live on by the end of last year. The new mod system (offering something that pirates don't have) in conjunction with the new anti-piracy measures has meant that more people buy a license instead of taking the piracy route and now we earn enough to live on. So that's helpful, unless you would prefer us to stop working on LFS.

Gabor talked about racing in LFS.

And no graph can show what logging into lfs and joining a server to race will show. Ypu will race alone or in demo.

Quote from Flame CZE :1000 Hz is better to track lap times up to 3 decimal places without having to interpolate between two updates.

No need for laptimes in carmeet cruise.

Replays are already saved on lfs hosting?
Gotta say i never bothered to check how big airio folder is Smile

well I've got a solution to problem.

Airio installs are the same, demo, full and pro. Only difference is license file.

Victor could enable a dialog box to upload license file, and then also between multiple servers of same users allow picking what airio one uses. As far as i know, for now, multiple servers hosted on lfs use multiple instances of airio.

They dont? I didn't get any notification about it from them.

We just host lfs 0.6 version and insim with it.

It costs us 10 euro every 6 months but thats the price of mods (that we dont use).

Other than that - alternative could be making a deal with Deko or TC to host insim.

or you can always show semaforo on a cruise server and two guys with "private mods" doing a launch in a cars that cant really take a turn because they are not optimized.

If you do a video, do something no one does... Show that LFS still has life in it.

Dont show a race versus bots, or a demo race. Show how a real LFS race looks like, join MRc FBM Saturday, RTFR or two of FM's showcases, to show that LFS, after all these years, can still provide racing on a high. It is that where LFS excells after all, even though many seem to forget that. But racing versus another person deletes all tracks, mods, graphics, sounds, UI, garage screens shit.... its just you vs that one guy, and its where LFS delivers the best.

Quote from MrWave :okay, I'm really bad at this, how do you apply a DT penalty? Is there an admin chat command for that, or do you have to send a specific inSim packet? if the latter, then which packet, because I can't find the right one?

If you use Airio, you can set it up that every reset gives a DT penalty.

We used built in sign up feature for fox endurance..worked great to get people signed up but there is no connectivity with insim (so we still needed to keep track of times manually for prequalify of each round). And there is no "send message to all" option, so message recipients were still entered manually. I found a way to help myself with excell and some filters alongside find replace, but it wasn't automatic.

Quote from Scawen :And one more question, I think TeamSpeak or Discord was required in an event I saw once. Is this common and if so, should there be an indication about that? Maybe on this new events display or at least on the website if you click the link? It could put some people off certain events.

And should there be an indication like beginner / intermediate / expert? That could help people choose an event.

I still have on the my list the live broadcast link. Not sure how to display it yet.

I think we are only team forcing people to use discord...but we make that very clear everywhere on server and plenty of times before races so I'm not sure its needed. Having less info on main will be better imo.

As for beginner, intermediate, expert - let me tell you, this is the beauty of LFS
No matter how fast you are, if you can keep it on the road, there will be someone with similar pace to you, helping you to a great race. Races we have a actually a mix of expert, intermediate and begginer drivers, so categorization is not needed.

I think showing local time is always better, like the lfs calendar does.

For example, longest active league in LFS is fox Friday, am i right? Fox Friday became because fox junkies was dying...so onus went from having good racing every day to having a good race once a week.

The amount of work FM and friends put into keeping fox friday active as it is, is frankly ridiculous. Fras is on the server almost every day and he doesn't even race. We have coached through watching, advices and setups over 100 new drivers, with every new driver we have a goal of making them a good opponnent to have in a race. But the thing is, Fox Friday isn't really competitive..you can come and race one week, and you can miss next month, it doesn't matter if you're not top 3-4 drivers wanting to win championship that year.if you got time on Friday, you join server and drive. Its not comparable to leagues that are organized differently.

It all stems to lack of drivers. And tbh, its a problem that is 13 years old now

Quote from bishtop :Totally agree with you on that one. I've raced a fair bit on Assetto Corsa but it has never grabbed my full attention like LFS had.

I think LFS has many strengths, that the other sims will never have the same

See that's an opinion based on your experience. People do race as michal 1279 shown , 50 active racers started in the first event race, then it decreased as it progressed onto the subsequent races.

Id guess some don't like to continue if they believe they're not going to do or become the best.

Maybe it could work better if active teams have it so many members took part in event leagues from start to end and events had a racer standing and team standing(points).

The same happened years ago when id ran event races, at the start they would be packed but then after a few of races the numbers would dwindle.

Many race on ours and other demo servers, the struggle or aim is to get many to become licensed drivers, which is why we had held events for them to win licenses which kept the numbers up on demo events.

The problem with licensed events is they're already licensed, so its finding some incentive to keep them interested.

1st race of league is full because people are curious.

Nothing can help races after that, except increase of player base. We get what, 500 drivers per day in LFS? If we would get 5000, then the leagues would be full.

But we wont get to 5000, not with buggy kerbs that developers have been ignoring for years. Dont tell me, i know, its the physics problem. But is it impossible to patch the track up so it doesnt kill cars? I've done it with track layout editor..many others did it you, why can't devs do it?

Lets get one thing straight, i dont mind devs prioritizing cruise community over racing community. It is their product afterall. But if they ask, like scawen asked here.. I'm willing to answer. Live for speed is not a racing simulator. So thats why races aren't attended.

Sadly, it is very simple.

LFS is cruising simulator and not a racing simulator.

We talk about league like BF1 losing interest..wonder why? People cant drive the cars because phantom bugs kill their suspension.

But having Semaforo is more important than fixing (or atleast patching) the kerb bugs.

People don't go into lfs to race. Racing series that are existing are behemoths of old age. There are no racers...only cruisers, and no amount of broadcast or organization will change that.

You can berate me all you want, but once you look i to the mirror you will know I'm right.
