when do you post it?

i mean it isn't that i don't want it but my dds folder just exploded in terms of size, compared to the orig... :P

anyone thought about far cry and shader model 3? (i know dx8 used atm, but the technique...)
i mean the example of the stone normal/bump maps that is actually the same on all stones but looks different everytime...

Sth. like this would make huge textures a bit odd since you could tile the normal/bump much higher? (meaning more tilings per 2048 pixel) and it would still look unrepeating...

1+ for random track generator (wrc ish) (not intended for competition, just relaxed cruising)

cause always round the tree gets boring and i like my fxr... but want new roads (not new textures)

<<< puts on flamesuite, and runs... :P

the purpose of a set (sort off)

after reviewing your mpr, i tried a few laps, first thing IMO is get rid off autoshift, do it yourself, second sharpen the brakes...
third be patient and learn other one's lines.

the force is strong with you...

@ XCNuse:

don't want to be rude but why don't you just block messages.

<<< me would like an block ALL ****** messages option like the shift-R (even status, conn, box exit, etc...)

otherwise welcome to babylon...

@ mrodgers (or any other native english-like speaking people):

sure english is an easy language compared to russian (and that you can understand in many different ways), but what is it with you native english speaking peoples arrogance to be always understood when in foreign countrys?

I don't want to offend/accuse anyone here but it occured a few times lately.

Quote from Forbin :You might be surprised. I would bet that most people in my part of the country have never even seen a gun in person.

I'm not, i have far relatives there.

And after beeing asked by some funny american asking for our Fuerer and how he is doing, i started thinking...

But the first time i saw a gun (in my hands) wasn't at school (early grades) where we met our police officer in person.
Nor on the street were police was chasing someone. (didn't saw a gun here too)

NO

It was during my service, at age 20 around were i fired a gun (3 diff types).
So I'm not into guns, but into machinery (non lethal) and thats why i already forgot the specs of these weapons i was trained on.
(don't know if i can use them properly after that time)

So maybee it's the fact that we need proper training, a clear record and beeing memeber of some Firearm-sport-club (poor description, sorry) to legally own a gun, that has kept me away from "dangerous machinery" and therefore saved my life.

I enjoyed shooting, (bloody loud), enjoed the responsibility with it, but i'm glad that firearms aren't that visible here in germany...

Why are you so pi**** by the empty phrases? (welcome/goodbye)
I think it's common sense and adult training to greet someone entering/leaving the room.
Fo me it's normal to recognise and greet new guests, as it's sometimes hard to type when in a battle, it's just easier to push the welcome button.

And don't tell me you don't use the smiley buttons, or the apologize button.
When the time has come and I had enough of lfs i use the POWER button...

Quote from Bramski :This will be all over the UK before you know it. Driving around in 3rd gear, cos lets face it, you'll never see 4th gear at 20mph, will see us using a lot more petrol, more petrol equals more tax equals more money for the government. Not to mention the money they will rake in from speeders as some people and cars just can't function properly on a road at 20mph.

Motorists in the UK are being held to ransom, if it's not one thing it's the other. If I didn't have a wife and kid to cart around (and I wasn't so lazy) I would buy a bike, or even worse, walk.

true in this scenario...

but what about the new security features of the new operating systems to come, where treads aren't alowed to read the memory of other threads.
then this problem will be sovled itself, (or am i wrong again?) if these features aren't insecure or soon exploited.

no purpose?

well then tell me whats the purpose to measure a lap time then?
why do we have fun in lfs?
for the driving? the improving skill? the respect in beeing an alien? (sort of)...

sorry to laugh at you but the whole world compares in different values...

money, respect, power just to call a few.
racing sport very much IS about beeing faster than others.

otherwise this sort of sport wouldn't work...

why?

add a username to a encrypted skin and the skin is protected...
that way it can't be decrypted that easily by the copiers, and therefore be protected.

To change your skin you'll need the original file (unencrypted file) then hand it over to lfs wich does the securing-process.

that hard?

i think your idea of break-out racing is a bit odd.
/igorant mode on

i always thought that your material + your mental discipline (reaction time) makes the whole thing work.
Instead i read about "get closest but NOT over a certain threshold"...

Quote from DEVIL 007 :Hi all,
so here is my promise.I took a bit longer getting back to home from my job though.
Its probably not final result as I would like to experiment with some more variations to the texture but I would like to really here some feedback from you guys.Bad or good doesnt matter ofcourse.

hum, looking really good in comparsion with the originals. but...

1 the kerbs look too fine tiled (white blue), didn't see a track with that fine tiling yet.
2 the texture mapping around the track could use more textures.
how many are actually swapped around one track?

i know you can't do anything about the 2 thing... but i occured to me that the textures always show too much repeating-artifacts when driving around...

anyway good work...

The programm i used was Cinema 4d R9.

and it used your textures twice. (converted via dds-converter)

1 for the normal map
2 for the "height" of the relief.

3 take a simple plain and use the 2 textures in their destined channels then c4d gray-scales the texture and generates a height-map using dark=low and bright=high areas.

4 apply a dynamic polygon subdivision to pay respect to the detail of the texture.

With the same allignment of the 2 textures you get the rendered pictures you saw.

After the recompression of the tiff->jpg (via photoshop) the job was done...
