Great Layout guys!.
I upgraded it to have finish and checkpoints.
I think we should take some challange here with LX6 who take it fastest.

Layout with finish and my best time(few mins for fun) 1:30:29:

Quote from Skagen :Could there be a low pressure zone (say 0.95 bar instead of 1 bar) behind the car infront, dragging the other car along?

Most probably not and if there was something it would not affect the car dramatically (especially for road cars). And even I doubt that lfs is coded in the way it would be physically correct in the deep of these aspects.

Guys I think this is a case of collision physics in LFS. Its maybe the same problem like sometimes your tire sticks to the curb and you get over. Maybe this is happening because of the physics frequency or just not so good algorithm.

I think that algorithm isnt so well. There is always a delay so when the physics step came on the cars actually collided by a very small part of mesh so it got somehow connected. In other case if you are lagging more you get to the car in front by large part which puts you with some "equivalent" force back so you get unconnected. I think this bug is somehow specific.

Anyway I think this isnt the case its just connected to the whole collision problems.

I was driving mouse for 2 years mainly in fbm. IMO I got used to mouse very well and it was very hard to spun with mouse.
Then I bought wheel and it took me few months to really get into it. Now I still feel like I could go faster with mouse with few cars on some tracks but in overall I am driving more carefully and enjoying it more. Mouse was great, alot better than KB/Kn but wheel is wheel.

I think in some low powered classes mouse can be an advantage. But in GTRS some ss's you cant beat wheel drivers. Maybe with pedals but I am not sure as I cant imagine the position while playing that way.

Or just guys from Japan and Australia should come. The rest should stop downloading p**** and we would have a multiplier heaven.

And there is one big factor that the speed of light is determining also the ping to the server...

You can have a good connection but if the server is in Japan or in Australia for europe means that we will have 200-300 ping there.

e2mustang should we all live in one place?

Only way it could be improved is some better multiplier algorithm but not sure if its even possible... Most probably it could be only better but if Scawen do whatever he will never get it to works like IRL unfortunately.

That solves nothing.
PC is good enough for modern games so it should have no problems with lfs but as someone said it isnt really optimized for these PCs potential.

Not everyone can have a stable connection. And if there wont be on every place optic fiber connection there always be many people without stable connection.

It would be nice but there are these technical problems:

1. Even my PC which is getting like 350FPS single drive cant handle so well t1 when there are 20 cars +
2. Connection issues for sure
3. The mass of people who want to win at t1 will just cause a nice crash.

I would like to see that personally but at first, point 1 and 2 needs to be right.

New tires have some more grip but if you take a little slide you will gain much more heat and also you will skid much more. The overall car control is on the other level than just new tires. You can even see the brake point difference.
For some reason cars are a little bit faster with old tires but this has nothing to do with this thread as he was measuring car speed at specific RPM.

Today I was driving XRG and after 15 laps I should have changed brake point by 2 meters than new tire at good temperatures. As you said that grooves went off and the difference was really big and hard to learn new points. But also it was harder to reach the needed rear slip without skidding away too much with an xrg.

I am pretty sure that worn tires from my best experience in FBM gives you better traction properties. I saw many guys running their pbs and overall much more better lap times at these conditions...

I dont think so that small changes in grip affects top speed of a car. There is still nearly 0 slip in wide range of tire traction in straight line driving...

IMO he was doing a test with full rpm at exact gears and it should show difference. If not it isnt implemented as many other things yet.

Quote from Bmxtwins :Why are all you people staring at tires? Do they affect the physics? Personally I only care about how the car feels for the new tire physics.

For sure the tire physics is the most important element of car feeling and also the hardest to code. It needs to be very well done.

But on the other hand there are still some major issues in LFS which could be improved.

The graphic is just on unbelievable level. From these videos it looks like it will be pretty nice also on physics level. And on first place there are many devs working on it pretty much so maybe it will come to high level fast.

Okay but the second guy was arguing about the overtaking of a tight curved straight where I chose the inside and wasnt changing it. He was just driving his line and got me there on grass. It wasnt really needed to take it at the limit. Who fault would be that? Is it like he should have make me a space if he knew that I am going to overtake him?

It doesnt give so much sense because that would mean that they can race like they want and only we should brake and fight for positions between them. The same I dont think is fair to me to pass them everywhere. IMO there should be some compromise if it really isnt necessary for him to take it wide. I was just behind him and he could make me space instead of taking the wide line.

@derohk I had some race accidents and fails. Sorry for that.

@TehPawns3D. Wtf you just said??? Only you 2 guys were scrapped not damaged and was arguing for nothing all the time making my racing sux. You are the man who took the revenge on me and got warned by admins.

Meanwhile I have found this: http://www.cargame.nl/forum/post39722.html They arent talking the same as you Notanillusion.
Blue flag in multiclass racing

Hello guys,

I was racing today at cargame.nl with fzr And had two arguments with a guys on slower class.

1. At AS3 I was like 4. and at T1 there was a slower class racer in front. I got to him just before apex and I decided to take him from outside. He was driving it on the limit and wide so when I was at his rear wheel I slightly pushed him and he then got it to sand at middle of corner. IMO 50% is his failure as the push was slight. After race he was arguing with me that I crashed him and so on...

2. At special layout I was leading and coming out from corner and I was getting to 2 cars at the little curved straight. As at the time I was deciding there was space for 2 cars I chose to take inside line. The guy was racing it on the limit and got inside of that slight curved straight. So I overtook him on a grass within scrapping his side of car but nothing else happened. After race he was arguing that he can race his line and I am the one who is responsible.

In my opinion blue flag overtaking is work of the two. There was enough space for it and it wasnt really necessary to block my way as the speed difference was like 80km/h and really I cant disappear or change my decision few meters behind them. Why I should lose seconds at the little curved straight for that someone wanted to gain 0.01 and got it to the limit with a blue flag on his head.

What you guys think. Should we brake and let them drive at the limit and lose positions behind them? Is blue flag here just to let them know that there is faster car and they can race the line they want? Or blue flag means for them to be predictable and let us pass without blocking or so on?

Thank you for opinions.

IMO theres no way to help you. It comes out of experience. You just need to look alot of different replays, download setups that you think suit you. It will come with time.

Really nice. I would like to see some of those races. Hope you ll get it to the point you want. It can be really challanging especially if TC is banned like in real f1.

I think you need to be an expert bike driver to say you dont need ABS. You can know the braking limits but if you get to abnormal situation with a oil/sand on ground you can press front brake a little more than its traction limit and you are a death man. Instead in a car you will just feel the locked tyre / understeer. I also thought how easy it is as I know the limits but little sand in turn and I was lying on the ground.

Anyway. Im pretty sure that in some today cars is ABS shortening the braking lenght. Some can 15 times a second mechanically open valves. Braking the every single wheel with different torque at the traction limit.

I have just tested the most common type of crashes and its great Scawen! But still in some occasion barrier bounce you. My first experience with thin part of barrier send me to fly in speed of maybe 60kmh. And still there was an interaction with concrete barrier in kyoto that bounced me. Keep it going

Thanks for this update.

It looks like this is the end of funny flying times

Yeah I think thats not good if the game would go to many parts like S3 or S4... Maybe S2 and S1 are enough and just everyone except demo would pay something to download a new patch?

If im racing on some event I listen to music. It helps me to be calm. But on the other hand im losing concentration. Also depends on what type of music Im listening but mostly its funky or some alternative.

Nice to see that. But I hope it wont take so much as s2 is getting death. Only like 5 racing servers are really active. I want to ask if you are working some more on aerodynamics and crash model? In my opinion the lfs way of laggs and crash model is the worst part of lfs racing.
Im a laggy racer and had many problems of wheel by wheel racing or car behind a car where 1 racer fly away and the 2 havent even touched him.
