Make sure you are checking the WRs of the current season, as physics change in each.

How is that any game's fault? Being a paranoid is something you have to solve on your own

Yours look washed out and feels like my monitor just broke, or I left f.lux on with needlessly high settings through daytime. The originals are just perfect.

Never had problems you described here. About body roll: I dunno man, but the Civic felt like it has tons of body roll around the track in every turn, especially Lime Rock. I can even feel the Formula Renault having a bit of body roll, which might sound odd.

They managed to put the most PC demanding content to the demo, which is... not quite smart indeed, but turning your graphics down a bit should solve your problem. The rest of their content is a piece of cake, hardware requirement-wise, so they are probably on the logic, that if you can run this, you can run the rest perfectly. I did not have a single problem with the game though, except for one thing. Which was freezing after 16+ cars joining the race online, but that was caused by my 32bit system. Even upgraded PC since then.

Greatness. I did not have problems with logging in. Although I do not fancy this new trend of minimalistic websites, and this one is not an exclusion, I am probably more than happy about the progress to get over that and cheer for it.

Quote from Eclipsed :Same engine, same gearbox, most likely different clutch.

Yeah, used cars most probably have different clutches, or even if they are still original, the ammount of wear might differ, which makes for a totally different feel.

I never heard of the sport before, although I played with frisbee before. Checked up, and in Hungary we have free events every 2nd Saturday, and they also provide the equipment. Those sessions are especially for newbies Gotta try it asap.

If you like barehand driving and your hands tend to sweat, then you might consider somehing else than alcantara. I left some stains on the material throughout the summer, cause of the sweaty hand. Although, it comes out with a technique and an ammount of time, but still a fuss to have it clean.

In fact, try searching a spot on your desktop, focus on it then start shaking your head up and down. If you have no physical problems, nothing particular should happen, your eyes stay in a stalled position. Harder to execute the same thing with horizontal motions, not to mention the seizure caused by this. That effect acts non-real with the curbs, that's all. These are stuff you feel in your body and neck, rather than shaking your view.

Quote from JackCY :Seriously, please update the mouse input so that scroll wheel works at any speed of the game and that mouse sensitivity can be adjusted IN GAME.
Basic stuff for any game.

The simulation updates on 50 something Hz (don't know exactly), and not limiting the FPS to a specific ammount that doesn't clash with the simulation update timespan will make this happen, not only in LFS but in every other simulator and not only mouse inputs will have problem, but there will be a delay with analogue input. Nothing to do with LFS, keep fiddling around with your FPS until you hit the sweet spot. Also, using VSync in any simulation is asking for trouble, so there is no reason to point out 120Hz+ monitors, and you also didn't claim you had one, so why not just got with 100FPS anyway? The game won't have stutters.

I've fiddled around with every setting and the result is the same. LFS gives the same feeling to the wheel while turning (oscillation) as iRacing in a standing car. The FFB has a kind of clicking noise when turning the wheel, not in the other simulators though. ETS2 also had a similar effect on the wheel, without the burning smell though.

I contacted LFSTech today and got an answer with no solution, suggesting to open a topic but I found this and thought mine would be related. I actually have FFB on my wheel playing LFS, but the game just kills the motors. The fans are blowing hot air and smoky smell after 5 minutes of gameplay, whereas in other sims I can easily go for a 5 hour session without trouble, and even then the airflow feels cool. Note that even at 25% force, which is relatively low it still has a problem. Somebody met a similar problem? Any solutions?

LFS always liked to occilate the wheels. My G25 had the same problem at the center point, not anywhere else though and no problems in other simulators. My CSW has no occilation, in fact the FFB sucks so much in LFS with CSW that it's nearly impossible to string a lap together. I feel like I'm driving a 900 deg wheel without FFB, which doesn't quite suit anyone who wants to be fast, not to mention the crappy smell that comes from playing with LFS. I could literally drive 5 hours of iRacing any my wheel would blow cold air and make no smells at all, play LFS for 5 mins and I get hot air blown and smoky smell. Maybe that's something I would have to contact Scawen about.

Quote from CrAZySkyPimp :Apparently those RL MX-5 racers that said it was good before says it's total crap now. With DK running things, I'm not surprised, I've heard from a beta tester that when DK is not around things really starts to shape up, then he comes in and ruins everything, lol.

Not really. The real drivers said it was crap in last season, then they opened topics how this new build is a miracle and it's drivable again with real setups. The new MX5 with the new tires just feels pretty epic. I never thought it's a bad car though, or unpredictable. Whoever says that has some serious lack of competence in racing.

Otherwise, the price tag is not really as high as I thought it would be when I started and hearing it from someone's mouth who never actually played iR sounds silly. I wanted competitive racing for my money with various cars on tons of track, which I didn't get in LFS for a few years now and guess what? I got it.

Will have to wait a full season till that I reckon. But let's hope it will happen soon.

Quote from Scawen :If you read our licensing thing, it's really cheap, and negotiable (for lower use cases).

It appears that, apart from not discussing this with us, they have not displayed any information like our logo and website address, as stated on our information page.

See, when it's like that and someone is charging £1000 per week for the whole package, but not giving us any credit at all, we obviously need to investigate.

I see that your intention is not making millions out of that small licensing fee, but rather the fact that some people who jump in and are willing to throw some bucks out of the window for a few minutes of fun could potentially come here and do the same thing, using your service rather than playing around in a sloppy supermarket.

Yeah. Those HPP pedals and the SimXperience wheel looks grand and pricey. We had something like that here in a plaza close to me with Motion sim and oculus rift, I think it was running RBR. Didn't have much time to check it around. 5 pounds aren't that much for it, but of course it doesn't mean you can work around licensing.

So that means I could just take a trip there, be 2,5 seconds faster and get my free tickets? That sounds great, althought I guess you can't modify the setups

Quote from Matrixi :
This is something where I feel that LFS can show other developers what proper Rift support really means.

What I always liked about LFS is not using sloppy methods to put anything in the game. Other developers can take most of the features as a great example, to mention netcode and such...

Quote from Scawen :Hi Ben, do you know who is running this? We can't find any emails discussing commercial use of Live for Speed.

Our permission system is on this page at lfs.net:
http://www.lfs.net/?page=commercial_use

When people charge for the use of LFS they should be making a contribution to us. I guess we'll use the "contact us" form on the Ginetta site, unless anyone has some better info.

That's exactly the same thought that crossed my mind when I saw the 5 pound fee, having read the commercial use a few times just in case.

Not really keen to sweat there and living in the capital of Hungary, I guess I have options for that here aswell, and that's not exactly what I expect from a trip :P
