Quote from Puskin :it will still remain s**t, they made no game updates in almost a year, i haven't played for more than half a year and even now nothing new was added, i was still waiting for some better car body damage to look more real but i guess it will be done in 10 years or never

So I'm guessing that crash servers are your main location. Totally legit use of LFS, I'd say. The fact that in 7 years you couldn't get yourself to contribute a purchase to the scene says a lot about that attitude. You are basically saying that it's shit because it's shit.

I think it's due to the fact that when I was driving Nords in rFactor, I usually crashed around that point of the track and simply went back to pits and all over again. It's indeed not hard to memorize a track, it's just the thing that I didn't do more than 4 laps on the circuit since then doesn't help. Maybe if I drove 10-15 more it would get into my brain a lot easier. Now I'm just tapping blindly out of the memory without driving it.

Looks like everyone suffers the same memory problem then. I also have problems memorizing some parts after the Karussel. Especially the tightening turns and those with a little downhill after them. I just can't seem to remember which come after which.

Now you are comparing a human eye to a camera objective? That's being wise there.

Something is wrong, I just can't seem to join with the freejoin thingy. The server appears to me as a booking server without booking proccess.

You know LFS had updates with language packs in the recent years, that nobody really seeked. You are messing up updates with content. People want content of which Assetto Corsa had more of in the lifespawn of 2 months than LFS had in 10 years and don't come with the hundreds of comboes this game has because that's bullshit. Most of them don't make sense and th rest is not used. Leagues and public races are using the same boring stuff for years with nothing unique but well, most of the tracks from the same location are nearly equal, just look at Aston. I just had enough racing the same cars on nearly the same tracks for more than 10 years now including my demo part. It's too late now though, 1 car and 1 track won't change the world. It's something you have to do regularly to be effective. I don't want to go personal now, like most of you did.

Are you sure you installed the right drivers for Windows 7? Try looking up Sony eSupport and type your model number to get the proper drivers. I'm pretty sure if it worked on Vista it should work on 7 too.

The weird thing is leagues are working all against me, I mean it. When I was busy all week and only had the weekend to do some action, all of the leagues within my interest were during the week, now that I'd rather race on weekdays everyone moved their leagues to the weekends (see STD league). I was especially not fond of leagues that are taking up the whole weekend for just one event. I'm missing the old OWRL that's for sure, but my initial reaction was the lack of CTRA. And that is what I call all day/night racing experience within LFS. You really could jump in at any point of the day and have cleanish grids of 20. That is a lot more to miss. I already am ashamed of myself for throwing away my Single Seater skills just because all of the leagues ran GTRs and their restricted versions.

Would I want to miss out on a fully scanned Nords? Definiately not.

Quote from J@tko :Waste of $15.

Best sum I ever heard of it. Now I'll go race the CSpec around it while tears are dropping on my face thinking of that very line. Although, not because it's badly done, simply because it's a crappy track.

So you are suggesting that I can fire up my GTR2 and/or LFS any night and jump into a balanced grid of 30 cars? I think I didn't experience that in LFS for years now, not even in league races. Also in most of the Simbin games, I tend to find the kids online, simply because it's too forgiving for a kamikaze action. I can only wish Assetto Corsa hurries up with fixing their netcode and the joining system so even pickup racing can be enjoyable at some point. It will never reach the standards of the iRacing matchmaking in a popular series though.

Quote from R3DMAN :Its your job to deal with them, its not their job to deal with you.

I know it's in iRacing's rulebook, which in few of the parts I disagree with, especially this, though I kept my anger inside for the moment. I'm not famous for using voice chat or text chat in Official Race/Qual sessions at all. I dealt with them, I kept my first place, it's still frustrating that a blue flagger can decide the podium by being in the way and don't even have to feel bad about it. On National you really have to be on the edge most of the time and in the CSpec, that's not the easiest deal. The backmarkers are famous for throwing you out of your rhythm and ruining 2 laps by only blocking you for a single corner. I don't think it's my job to deal with and teach drivers on how to recover their cars onto the track (not ideal line) after they slipped off in a hairpin-ish turn. That is not acceptable for me and not even the User code, I think.

Next time we are connecting the server with some torrents running on med priority in the background then, I guess ^^

Oh well, blue flaggers.. They're such morons. I was leading the top SOF of the week in RUF Cup and blue flaggers really pissed me off. Those races are 25 minutes long with tight top of the field, which means the top 3 is fighting within 1 second the whole race and I can recall at least 3 blocks in Silverstone T1 by blue flaggers and one who almost took me out after losing control and coming back in T2 of the National layout. That would've made me angry for sure.

Why would I want to turn it off? It's making my laptimes more consistent and it's not discouraged by the game mechanics, to there is no point turning it off.

I agree, you get a half-decent support and consistent service for you money. I don't see how anyone is fancy by getting iRacing. You've never thought about the fact that some racers would love to compete online regularly, right?

I want online racing without children, and a number of reachable short-terms goals to achieve. Show me a better one then according to my preference.

Quote from troy :In other news, looks like Kegetys found a way around the "pre booking" with some modifications anybody can join a server no matter what session is on.

Kegetys always finds a way around stuff, I just don't know how. That dude is a genius.

Quote from Franky.S :the amount of retards on the servers is incredible. its almost impossible to find anyone decent to race with or any competitive servers and when you do, there is usually one or two retards that ruin it for everyone else. I didnt expect this many kiddies to be playing tbh..

To be honest I didn't expect anything more. This is a simulator distributed on Steam, what do you think?

@dawe, I also fear the fact that they are the same guys who made NKP and looks like they didn't learn much from past mistakes and as I can recall I still prefer NKP's physics over this one so I consider this a step backwards. We'll see how they feed up from the community response and either abandon, rewrite the whole thing or leave it as it is.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Some things are just so re*arded sorry, alpha or not, LFS is Alpha also, the year is 2014.. I have no idea how many laps there is, when does the quali end, what position i am at the moment? Like, pretty basic stuff..

Dude, the applications tell everything. Should've learnt to use them since November, you know they have a reason. Turn them on, they're useful. I'd say it's not as bad as I expected, firing the game up after reading this topic. The whine over it is a bit overreaction. There are tons of flaws, but it's the first time I enjoyed AC in months, so I guess it's not that bad. I don't see how LFS' Alpha status comes here... LFS was alpha for what? Nearly 10 years now. This game's life spawn is about 1/10 of that so far. That discussion is as wrong as it can get.

Quote from Bmxtwins :Martin D Christensen has officially made himself the most retarded person in iRacing.

He hangs back on the start 5 car lengths, cuts me off at the S/F line and then full on slams the brakes 100m early causing me to hit him. I then move right to go around him thinking his brakes failed, and he just full on blocks me and causes me and about 7 cars to die.

Unbelievable. Will upload the replay when I get a chance.

Nobody really cares here. You should rather protest about it than wasting time on posting here about it.

Well, people don't respect otherse in practice or qual sessions at all and that is bugging me. I was on a WR lap @ Silverstone RUF Cup and the guy who was on an outlap just hangs in front of me at approx. 5 sec off pace then gets mad if I bumpercheck him from behind.
