Round 7 - Pre Race Discussion

Again, 3 days countdown to the final round and no comments from you guys, come on, the champhionship is really tight

Will Mr. J.McIntyre and his XRT dominate Aston's long straights?
Will the FXOs and Mr. R.Blauwhoff regain control of the podium?
Will the FLP team get those RB4 again up there?

Great race to see what can happen, both candidates needs the points.

LFSLA will make a big effort to get some good points in this round, we found the FXO in really good shape last time we raced here in our local champ .

Gogogo!

Yeap, really nice server, it's like a very good flashback of CTRA old times

Tracks rotation could be shortened IMO

Well... I really don't want to extend my thoughts anymore, thing is that finding the right words isn't very easy, specially when I want to be rather specific while explaining and english is not my native language. I give up

There was no need to be rude pal... IMO I think this can be done togive an approx. idea of the FF job during a lap/race/etc.

Quote from GabbO :What would it help if the wheel is turning from itself? The wheels react like this cause you force them to be in that certain place they are, not letting them naturally straighten out in a corner for example. If you don't apply the same forces yourself, the forces you get are pretty much meaningless.

I don't know, when you drive online/live, the FF reacts to the path you make in realtime, but when you see a replay the soft already has the path driven before, and therefore the FF effect

Well, a really bad race for me for sure, made a lot of mistakes during both races, and as a result I didn't finish neither of them

In the 1st one I started really late, and that helped to stuck a big pile of cars before the chicane, after that it took me 5 laps to hit the tyres and flip the car upside down.

Main race, I started just for fun as was starting from my house but anyway, I found myself up kinda fast, but then sucked again entering the main straight. After that, recovered a few spots, but then made a good noob mistake crashing into the chicane entering the last lap, I guess I got very anxious to take J.McIntyre position and that was the result

Good race for the RB4, really probed that this is a good combo for them

Ok, the idea is to get an optional FF option for replays, I think it would be a good extra feature.

Anyway, I can't think in any soft offering anything like this
Koa128
S2 licensed
Hm no.

When I race, and I save a MPR, I watch later and yes, I see other cars with little struts and connection issues/lag, but never me. LFS has all the inputs I did during the race since I'm saving straigth to the MPR, the other drivers inputs enter the MPR data through packages, hence the "not-so-smooth" issue you mention, but the local player won't see any
Koa128

Quote from Forbin :MPR's are not smooth enough for this.

But the MPR files you save from your race (your own LFS session), it's absolutely smooth I don't want to "feel" other cars FF, just my own.

And it's not %100 learning purpose, it's just to show off for newcomers to the game and people who don't ever play a FF wheel game

+1 for this idea, simple and effective
Koa128

Quote from J@tko :And also, if you've downloaded the WR replay, then you can get a feel for what they do too. +1

Hmm, I didn't see that possibility... I don't know if WR guys would like to share that kind of info to others. I don't mind sharing that, but that's only me and others are totally rightfull not to accept this.

So, MPR would be more than enough (at first instance) to fullfill the idea of FF enabled during replays as an addional feature of LFS.
Replays - Force Feedback
Koa128

Hi there guys, I've been thinking in many ways to improve the LFS experience, and I would like your opinions in this one.

The idea is to improve the teaching/showing of LFS in-track feedback to some beginners. You know, there's always a friend of yours, a brother, a girlfriend or whatever, who want to play and see whats about LFS, so the idea is to simply enable Force Feedback during MPR.

As a result, imagine how simple can it be to show how a car feels under heavy braking, during cornering, or even when in contact with other car during a race. This would make teaching much more easy or interesting for beginners

I would like to know your opinions about this.

Tks

I think the XRT could make a good race with really good set, many turns in Fe Green are better to drive with big oversteer, we'll see.

About my race, I've tested a few laps and even tried HL, but the front tyres... It will be nice to see how can we manage to keep them cool

I'll be starting some test during this week, last race my tyres were way too hot during the final laps in So Chicane, and I'm afraid Fe Green can do same harm in my Road Super's

Anyway, LFSLA will get there with some more test laps and hopefully a far decent setup to keep up the pace and the fight
Round 6 - Pre Race Discussion

Well... the IMA challenge needs some more discussion and comments from its drivers so I start the thread for the next race, battling through the high curbs of Fern Bay Green

Tell everybody, which are your candidates?

What do you expect from you in this race?

Are RB4 really better here in Fern Bay, or it's just a fairy tale?

Hopefully, we are going to be more in the starting grid, which means more battles, more show and more driving skills to hope a podium finish.

Great work with last round broadcast, I have just checked the OD version and it was really good, both the quality of the vid and the comentators, really good stuff in here. Congrats to the organization

I'll try to help you guys with my surname, was really funny to hear as you pronounced it , I didn't have too much time to post in the help-comentators-pronunciation thread, but I'll do as soon as I can.

I was one of yesterday "newcomers" and well... We went right into the track without looking who was 1st in the champ, nor 2nd, etc. And perhaps that made the race even more interesting, now I see Blauwhoff is running for the title and perhaps the race fight should have been a little bit different, since I was there just for fun and 'cos I love TBO's

The point is, admins/organization/etc should decide if they prefer tight fights for positions or perhaps yes, make newcomers start from the back to not disturb between the top clasiffied drivers.

I just wanna race

Great racing in South City, it's always about the pace and the tyres rather than a hotlap, isn't it?

In Round 9 I had a though battles with Blauwhoff and Virtanen, really tight and close for the 3 of us. Leyton was running in a different server, no way of caching him there.

Round 10, I thougth it was a good idea to wait a few laps for any mistake rather than really push the car, worked fine and could be just behind McIntyre in a few laps. I couldn't get him, I felt like the set wasn't just too good to keep his pace, so I tried to hold that 3rd position, but in the final laps Blauwhoff pushed really hard and was right in my back. Lucky me there weren't more laps, otherwise I wouldn't be in that podium.

To sum it up, I had a really good time racing with you guys, really gentlemen drivers and very professionals. Leyton doesn't speak english at all, but let me tell you he was pleased to fight good drivers today.

And... tks to the organization, really nice stream, everything right on time and very well presented, very very professional. Great work!
