Pro-karts are alright for a laugh imo, even with rotax max tyres on the thing it still just doesn't feel great. Just doesn't have the same kick as a 2 stroke.
Basically a slick with a few little cuts in them.
Just back from Boyndie in pain but was a great days racing
. 1st heat it was still damp, finished tbh a disappointing 3rd. Made a mistake and got sucked into the wet part of the track letting my Dad and the person who has done 100s of laps around the track past. From then I just picked away very small chunks from the leaders. My Dad took the victory in the end with a pass at the very last corner.
Managed to regain a few places and finish 3rd taking the person who has done 100s of laps on the very final corner. Was so surprised to catch him so quickly, he had nearly half a straight on and within 2 laps I was on his case.

. Only thing is it really makes me want to get back into it

.
Eventually managed to get £1500.

. Can't find the picture of the aftermath of my Dad's big engine blowup. Just picture in your head T1 of a demo LFS server and you'll get the picture. My Dad was sitting 2nd with about another 10karts behind him, piston broke went through the casings and throw water, oil and petrol on the circuit all at probably the heaviest braking point in the circuit. What a mess, I'd never seen anything like it. Can't remember how many karts missed the restart due to damage
and my Dad said something cheeky to him, can't remember exactly. Eventually my Dad told him that I raced in Cadets and that he shouldn't feel to embarased.
My biggest worry is having someone who is on the minimum age taking part as he has just had to give up karting due to money issues. He has been practing in a kart since 6, started racing at the minimum age of 8 and is very small. He'll just kick everyones ass unless we give him a weight penatly
(sparked off my whole step into karting). tbh no indoor karting track I've been to with them little singe engines have ever required much braking if any at all. Since they are little 4 strokes smoothness is the key to keep the momentum up, slide and you'll just start bogging down and lose out. Those karts indoors are very weight dependent though, you can easily gain a good bit of time being light so some young kids will kick ass of any decent adult.

I'm going to Aberdeen College to do an HND and then hopefully specialise into year 2 of Animation at Uni or if I fail to get into animation, graphic design.
His latest statement was that his graphics card is too new ...
