Quote from P5YcHoM4N :I do my part, I eat the damn cows.

As for the rest of that babel, how much of what you are using right now to type that wouldn't exist without all those pollution. Internet, Computers, Monitors (which we only have thanks to war), clothing, shoes, food, electric, clean drinking water, light bulbs, housing, furniture, should I go on. If you care so much stop using the items gained from it all, otherwise you're just a hypocrite.

Isn't it easy to blame others?

I do my part, thank you. And I also can deal with being a hypocrite to some. I can admit being a hypocrite and you're (plural) still an excessively polluting git.

Human actions don't matter? Ffs, try to think with reason. So what if nature causes more greenhouse gasses than us. More the reason to not add excessively into it. Besides, if cows produce more greenhouse gasses, then wouldn't it be reasonable to get rid of them?

Think.

People "need" meat and milk from cows. Cows need pasture and food. Most of worlds crop production goes into growing meat. In order to get room for pasture and fields, forests must be cut down. Forests however are quite essential in dealing with greenhouse gasses. More cows -> less forests -> less resources to cope with co2.

Think.

Think about natural resources. Producing warm water takes resources. Electricity is quite essential, and so is the powerline network that transfers it. Electricity doesn't come cheap. Most of worlds energy is produced using mineral-based resources, oil, coal and uranium for example. What then when we run out of them? No oil to maintain the networks, no uranium to produce more electricity. Industry uses huge loads of more energy than "common people", but what stops us to try and change the fact? Companies have no choice is enough people force them to. How much energy goes to waste simply by leaving all the lights on in a factory or in a superstore 24/7. How much energy goes to waste when everybody always picks a new plastic bag when shopping instead of reusing.

Think.

Think about pollution. Producing energy causes vast amount of very damaging pollution. Sure, we can dig holes and sink the waste into those, but what happens when we run out of solid ground to dig on? What happens when those barrels corrode and start to leak into natural water resources? Factories produce huge amount of waste. Consuming more creates a demand. Demand creates more factories and production, which again creates more pollution.

Cars pollute. You can't deny that. Using car to travel to work every day, using car every second day (yeah, right, more likely every day too) to go shopping, using car at weekends to go boozing and generally driving around. You only waste your hard earned money to gasoline and also create enough emission to spoil another fine day.

If you think global warming is a hoax, then fine. Just don't deny the problems with running out of resources. Don't deny the problems with pollution.

May our rivers run clean once again. Someday, somewhere.

Yeah, right.

Quote from fragile_dog :Nah, one aussie was good the rest sucked (max managed to beat like 100+ bad guys chasing him(well thats how manys in the gang it seems), hes well 'ard)

You gotta think outside the movies. The gang wouldn't have survived if they couldn't have fought for gasoline. Max was just too tough for them.

Maybe George promised that there would be huge amounts of roos to shoot in Iraq? Offering truckloads of their (ie. American) beer could not have been the lure, obviously.

Don't know that either, but it's obvious why you guys were dragged into the mess: everyone knows you're the best warriors to fight for oil!

Quote from al heeley :I guess thats cos a theory so complex that only the originator can understand it is not really much use to anyone else. It has to be transposed from a theory to a practical, understandable application for it to be anything other than mental/intellectual masturbation.

Best use any theory has, is to be inspirational to other theories. Some (or most) theories only apply practically when combined with other theories. Therefore it's quite useless to judge a theory without its full context.

Practical, understandable applications never meet any theory, because all theories base on estimates (at best) about the "real" world, the practicality's world.

Hare never catching the tortoise is a theory which helps to point out the effect of sequential (actually I don't know if its sequential, because I can't get that one word to my head right now) time. It also boggles the mind of an open-minded person.

Think outside the box or at least don't suffocate those who do.

First of all, you all just jumped on this thing because of the writer and his/hers past. If you don't like what he's writing, them ignore him/her.

Second, the theory he described is valid in a closed environment. You have to understand that time has been included in mathematics/physics for quite short period of time. Also this theory makes use of the concepts of finite and infinite. If the tortoise sets the frame of finite, then the rabbit can never pass it, or the arrow never hits the target.

Thirdly, why does every theory has to be so simple that "common people" could understand it, or more likely, to not to think it as bs. Be open-minded. Accept that there are shoit-loads of stuff you don't understand.

Fourthly, it saddens when teachers get the facts wrong. My experience is that teachers aren't usually any better than the average janes and joes.

Pool 5

Started from second last row, had an awful start when I mistooked my hand-brake button to clutch and stumbled forward during reds. Also I took little damage to suspensions when driving under some carnage in t1. About ten laps i managed with only one stupid spin, and then I made friends with the infamous as chichane wall. The void was calming.

I thought that this bug would have been fixed when we got the two new aston configurations and the make-up of aston. But no.. :P

Anyways, my race sucked but I'd like to point out one pretty important thing, to whom this concerns (unfortunately those won't necessarily read these forums..): watch when you re-join after spin! Especially in this track the T1 is easy place to spin, but it's guaranteed carnage if you rejoin when traffic is about to brake. My mrt's nose made friends with someone's side, because I couldn't brake any harder or otherwise avoid the crash, when I noticed that the car didn't stay put, but accelerated into the driving line right in the middle of the turn.

Classic, but not nice.

Problem is, that a barrier will just make the car into a sky rocket, which can also cause havoc.

Quote from lerts :what did you think when that dream you had happened afterwards?

Thought it was nice coincidence. Just think about all the dreams you had that didn't happen afterwards. You only remember the cases where random events were connected. Besides, memory fades, changes and lies.

Quote from Hankstar :...about deja vu...

I'm quite convinced that I live the same life over and over again, in a never-ending cycle. Doomed or blessed, dunno about that yet. As I've been getting older, my deja-vu's have been more frequent, so that must mean that I start to remember the last identical lives. If I could only figure out a way to change the flow of events (yeah, like that hasn't been the case with previous cycles).

World is all about me!

Two people won't collide while passing with eye contact, because it would be rude. Quite few have the need or guts to look someone in the eyes and collide into them.

Quote from MAD3.0LT :i say we shoot everyone that thinks motor sport is bad (exept Hot girls) and shoot everyone that is fat and to lazy to walk their ass 2 mins to the shop and then we can enjoy our motor sport and rail hot chicks!

Ermm, actually the hot chicks that don't like motorsports don't also like you liking motorsports, so you actually can't have them both.

It's easy to blame something else. The point is that if we don't start from somewhere we aren't going anywhere. Banning environmentally hazardous motorsports is relatively small step compared to changing peoples driving habits; both in evironmental effect and easiness. Therefore it has to be done. True progression comes from small steps. Giant leaps seldomly work. Same goes to saving in electricity: it's no big deal to turn off lights when they are not really needed. When more people do this, then they become more and more aware of the massive amounts of energy wasting that goes on in industry. More awareness -> more pressure for industry to change habits.

I say ban the evil motor racing. I don't need it. I got my LFS.

Quote from kx_mole :Only at the end was a close situation when Julppu, Phabio and me was fighting for 3rd position. Julppu was the leader of this train, but He slipped in T1, Phabio passed him, but Julppu car was turning right, before me, and there was a possibility of collission. I decided not to break but keep full throttle to avoid His car (I thought if I break, I slip into His car, and anyway there was no chance to stop with breaks). Fortunatelly it was a successfull maneuver... but so close (as I checked the replay) ...phew. I think Solar was commenting this: "oof" .

Yeah, it was a tight spot
I started 7th and finished 5th. First ten-ish laps were good but then the front tires began to overheat and the slight loss of grip resulted in lost rhythm. I was hanging with the first two positioneers pretty well up until that point. Then came the challengers. This combo gives very little changes to overtake unless some serious mistakes are made.

Indeed I had a fantastic stalling fight with Phabio, atleast it seemed like eternity. Then the one bigger mistake. Stupid me tried to avoid giving slipstream to Phabio at the main straight, and by doing that I had to take a much tighter line to t1. Classic mistake. Wide I went and tried to do every possible thing to avoid crashing into barriers. Indeed there was some closeness in the air at that moment...

This combo was pretty nice to qualify but the racing was bit too train-like. UF1 suits better the paved tracks and rallycross needs bit more power so that more overtaking opportunities arise. LX6 rallycross ftw!

Oh, what a tuner. Me happy Qualified into 11th and finished 6th.

If I remember correctly (it was a long and eventful race and I'm currently bit sleepy :tilt, I was knocked to my side in early laps and had to let everyone pass me. No biggie, since I made a pretty decent recovery (plus no damage from the sideswipe) gaining nice positions. Had a really entertaining fight, tried to smoke the guy/gal infront into mistakes (cleanly of course) and finally managed to squeeze past. Unfortunately the next fellow miscalculated t1 and ended up hitting my roof. "Some" damage to suspension. Decided not to pit, since the car didn't feel too bad. In fact I drove much better times with damaged car than what I've managed to do in previous sessions today. So, the rest 10-15 laps were just high 24's without a threat from behind and very small changes to gain places.

Don't know if these tune-ups require these reports, but decided to write mine, since a) me happy :boing:, b) this was my first full race after 14 weeks, and c) I propably manage to participate into the remaining events.

Thanks and cya.

Quote from anttt69 :+1 vote for 30mins races , I always fade towards the end of these mammoth 50min races its just to long to concentrate for the whole time.

I mean how long does to take to separate the wheat from the chaff? Half an hour should be an ideal race length & would be long enough to establish a fair running order. I also find that as the race drags on it becomes well, boring for want of a better word.

What do you think?

I think that longer the races bring better experience. Short stints can be raced in pick-ups all the time. 50 mins is a good minimum duration of a single race, because it rewards consistency. More the merrier ofcourse, so few 2-hour event could be nice.

Quote from deggis :Couldn't really care less... I'll still probably going to watch it just because I'm curious how the Finnish Broadcasting Company will make or break it.

They already broke it. They've been catering the quests with all the regular things: sauna, boot throwing, wife carrying, santa, lapland, but no mosquitoes.

I personally hate it when every official representation about finland is with those things.

Finland has no hope in the actual contest, but that was a planned thing, as usual.

Africa is a mess. First euros messed it up with our time of colonization (and/or imperialism) and then the usa joined in. But hey, free resources for anyone who can control the poor.
