True. Longer lasting idea would be free and unlicenced music (don't know how it's actually called in english) from racers and friends. If possible.

Pool 9. Not the best race, but best in both starting and podium position

Start was okay, did the first laps faster than expected. Manage to keep a pretty constant 3 seconds lead to nassa guys, untill made a mistake in t1 somewhere between laps 15 and 19. I took the wrong line at wrong speed and skidded, but for the first time managed to correct the slide succesfully That cost me couple second and Osoi was right behind me. The following laps were poor, lost totally the rhythm. Decided to let Osoi overtake since he clearly was faster at that time. There was 30 laps to go and anything could have happened, so I was not worried, yet. The three second gap remained untill I made the second driving mistake and embraced the barriers. Slight bend on rear left toe.

There was nothing left but to keep the second position and drive to finish. Which was pretty easy.

I have to say, that I love these SO sprint combos with mrt (and mrt in general). Almost like 30 minutes to 1 hour of skill driving challenge Mi likes.

I had hardware problems with my main computer and this backup-one can't run lfs, so now-show from me this time

Would have really liked to race this combo

The mid-section seems to be the most consistent for me, but it also seems that I can still shave off atleast a second by getting good first and third sectors in row. Yet again the same problem as always in quali-hotlapping: no time. This time because of holiday

Very nice combo.

I like Java. I found it easy to learn, but then again I'm quite object-oriented miself

For the work I do, I'm more than willing to sacrifice the decimals of a millisecond in processing time for easy multi-platformality. Java is just as effective as another languages - it's all in the optimization.

But I still think that the über-programming language is Prolog

Quote from Scoop :well if u have total n00bs at the front and pro's at the back then when they get to T1 there will be a HUGE crash because pro's drive fast and n00bs spin fast in front of them and like i said HUGE CRASH, but usualy they are very fun

Crashing pros aren't actually pros

Quote from anttt69 :Yes looks like a nice quali set though

Just for the record does anyone think that 1hr 15mins is too long for a OLFSL race? I mean I will probably be getting cramp & blurred vision by the time the race finishes.

How about we reduce it to 25 laps or about 1hr to save our eyes & numb bums?

Never! Longer the better Under an hour long races are dull, but necessary due lack of resources, I presume.

If you can't handle fox for at least 30 laps on as historic, then you just don't have what it takes

I personally hope that the invisible wall bug on the right side wall after the twister-chichane has been fixed. Sucks pretty bad, if losing control on chichane in a way that send fox into it...

Quote from Mrs FienDi :All decisions will still be made by OLFSL Staff, I'm just asking for the public opinion.

And that's good in my opinion (rats, now I gave mine.. ) It's just that opinions can be changed into politics so easily, that one has to be careful when to spread opinions

I refuse to vote. I don't want to participate in a democratic league, I want dictatorship. Reason is simple, democratic league won't work, because then even the slightest majority rules. That's not good thing, because majority of people are - and I mean all people, not just olfsl racers - stupid. I rather race in a strict league admined by small group of dictators than in a league under the dictatorship of majority.

I've used opportunities given by olfsl-staff to influence my pools' starting times because personal issues (and many thanks for that), but I'm totally ready to take the dnsh's if times don't fit. That's only up to priorisizing stuff.

I also want to say, about faster hotlapper driving in lower pools... I see it this way: almost every time I encounter this phenomenon where someone not qualified to race in their pool has still qualified in hotlapping into that pool. In my opinion that sucks big time. I'd rather race with equals who can race for 35 laps without causing mayhem, than with 's who can only drive one lap fast without any traffic.

So, no votes from me. I take what comes and move aside if it don't feel right.

Quote from Stellios :FXR and the corkscrew (as i call it) on aston historic. The uphill chicane.

Same one but with FOX. The same chicane going the other way (down) with MRT is pure pleasure too.

Pool 7
What can I say. Got knocked out and into last position, again. It must be me, 'cause I tend to get knocked out in every race. Drove steady laps and icreased right front suspension damage every two laps. Finally ate the first chichane too much and flipped. It happens.

I hate this, but I decided to go with FXO... Just can't keep the other two on track for more than two laps. fxo forgives much more, which I find important in 30-lapper. Gonna suck anyways...

Oh, I also want to say to my team that I'm really sorry about the extensive overtimework I've put on the mechanics because all the cars I've thrashed while practising this combo... The banana shape from first chichane is pretty nice though...

I'm gonna suck anyways, so I decided to go with RB4 Higher pools and more points would be nice of course, but it's just such a shame if the grid is filled with just one type of car...

Well, couldn't keep the "break" up and had to take a test These cars feel like 16 ton rocks with tires and propulsion. Driving is nothing but counter-steering and spinning :P

It was fun to brake in the previous events, 'cause then I just could slam the pedal without fear of locking wheels. Now then...

Pool 8, back row. Decided to take the first laps easy, to warm up the tires and avoid initial crashes. Those didn't happen. All went according to plans until it was time to tighten up the driving. Couldn't drive at all. I just kept making really rookie mistakes. Can't blame anything but my own lack of skills. Suckety-suck.

Gonna take few days totally off lfs and look for motivation.

Quote from BrandonAGr :It's clear BMX is spouting a typical my country is better than yours sentiment and I dont see any real intelligent discussion coming as a result of it, but I'm not one to get in the way of a growing flame war. +1 for locking this thread

I would say that I am proud to be an American and would rather live here than anywhere else, but of course I am a bit biased

And I'm proud to be Finnish and I like living here very much That's same with most of people anywhere. Home sweet home. All are biased

Of course that doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to travel and see other countries. And I warmly welcome you to visit Finland. Land of the monsters

Quote from BrandonAGr :This wasn't a political thread to begin with, just a post remembering those who have lost their lives defending their country.

Yeah, I know, but it just smelled gasoline for usual forumflamefire, so I decided to post my post about the pointlessness of taking it into politics.

Respect the dead by learning from their mistakes. That's what memorial days mean to me anyways.

Majority of netforums I frequently read have one rule: no religion or politics. I like that rule very much and I'd only hope this forum or atleast all but specific threads would have that.

The direction where this topic is heading leads to nowhere. The same thing have been "discussed" (read: argued) to the core over and over again, even in this forum.

This is, afterall, thread for General LFS discussion. There's no politics in LFS, there's just the frame for racing.

Quote from f1r3b4ll :owch, whats up with the wheel - ? it might mean you needing to tweak your settings on LFS or your setup on the car - the handling of the GTi can be skittish at first as i mentioned

No mate, I mean I just got the wheel in first place, so a bit of learnign period underway Little less than second behind my joystick-driven-pb and closing.. stability starts to find too

Seems like I'll suck at this event big time. Just got a wheel and haven't really gotten into it, yet. Problem is, that Windows won't recognize the joystick anymore, so it's either annoying tweaking with os or slow laps with wheel
