Quote from BlueFlame :Nobody is born with cancer (in fact everybody is, technically), but even somebody with cancer can live a normal life.

Not really.
Quote from BlueFlame :I don't know anybody with down syndrome, but I don't laugh or make fun of people that are different to me.
Cancer affects everybody, you don't have to be genetically mutated or abnormal to get it. So like I said, laughing at a light hearted cancer joke (about a horse) is laughing with the whole human population.

I disagree. Cancer is a bit more serious than a flu, you know.
Quote from BlueFlame :If you have a direct or indirect experience with something, then you have a right to have any opinion about it. If you have no direct or indirect experience about something, then it's definately wrong to laugh or make fun.

You just made that up. It's up to me to decide whether I joke about it or not.
Quote from BlueFlame :But being dutch, cancer is the worst thing to say, so making fun with cancer is cardinal sin, but making fun of handicapped people isn't?

So now you're an 'expert' on Dutch too eh? Kanker isn't the worst thing to say in the Netherlands. In fact, nowadays it can be compared to way '****' is used in English. A 'kankermarokkaan' would translate to '****ing Moroccan'.
Quote from BlueFlame :I don't laugh at down syndrome because I am glad I don't have it, and because I pray that my children aren't handicapped, because then people like you can't laugh at them.
I laugh at cancer, because the chances are, I will get it later on in my life so the joke is on me not that it bothers me, I will die when I die, but even if I knew for sure I was to get cancer, my life won't suffer because of it, but my life would suffer if I was born as a handicapped human.

That's quite egocentric. Laughing at and about cancer might not be as severe as laughing at down syndrome, because they might affect you differently? You should think from other people's perspective. You might think it's ok to joke about one, but not about another, yet others might think otherwise. Therefore, I don't make a difference between them.

I'll laugh at whatever I want. I don't value subjects differently based on how they related to me. I feel empathy to both, but that won't stop me from joking.

Quote from wheel4hummer :I disagree with drive-by wire in general. I just don't see anything that has been gained from it. Same with push button start. Just put the damn key in the ignition and turn, how is that so difficult.

Because a start button makes it look sporty, hurrr.

Quote from mrodgers :I've been saying for years that the drive-by-wire stuff isn't going to be good.

You're right, in my opinion. I once drove a Toyota Auris. It also had drive by wire. The throttle pedal was unresponsive and laggy. I could push the pedal to the floor and lift it completely, before the engine would respond .

Heh. I'm considering buying one when I sell my moped. Uni's my biggest expense atm, but when I've saved enough I might buy a 440

Quote from BlueFlame :The first part isn't what I am saying, but the second part is. Everybody knows somebody that died of cancer (assuming you know what cancer is and are in a place where it is of conscious knowledge).

And I know a person with a down syndrome. You can't laugh at people with the down syndrome, yet cancer is okay?

You, sir, have some unexplainable double standards

Attachment: person with down syndrome, playing a funny character. Just laugh along with him. Be happy, and don't make a fuss about people laughing about possible 'offensive' subjects. .

What the others said. Besides, you can't 'meisure' how offensive certain usernames are. Some people feel offended much more easily than others. Therefore, I'd say: just leave it as it is.

Quote from BlueFlame :People flame me for being left wing most of the time and then laugh at people with disabilities... it's very strange..

If avoiding accusations were a sport, I'd send you to the olympics.

You accuse people, and when they reply, you ignore it.

If I were you I'd buy a Volvo 440. It's cheap, there's room for you and your mates, it isn't slow and it doesn't look old-fashioned either.

Quote from BlueFlame :Making fun of down syndrome is now acceptable? Oh no wait, this is the internet, where you don't have to face up to what you say.

Boo hoo. We can make fun of everyone, except for the holy down syndrome?.

You're not telling me what I can make fun of and what not. I'll make fun of whatever I want.

Most people don't make such a fuss about it, really. There's not much to face for me anyway, because most people can tell a joke from a serious comment.

It's not a plane, but it's not a normal boat either. It can fly up to 100m high, and it'll do over 400km/h in a straight line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUTWWsh6iGA

Hey Blueflame. You said you knew something. Sadly, you were wrong. You could've done research before you made a statement, but you didn't. Even when others proved you wrong, you didn't believe them. And when you finally did confess you were wrong, you indirectly stated it wasn't your fault. You're one thick guy..

Quote from Blueflame :My maths failed, but I'm man enough to make the mistake and not google everything to prove I am right

You should've been man enough to not make any mistakes. Also, when experts correct you, don't think they're wrong.

I'll leave the technical discussion to the experts, unless I can add something to the discussion. You should too.
