Try going on a demo race server. 
Since Flatout UC is just Flatout 2 with shinier graphics, I'd say you should get Burnout Paradise. You can also wait for Split Second which is coming out in a months time.

Aww man. The premium models are probably Race cars, rally cars, new supercars (e.g. SLS AMG and 458 Italia) and possibly tuned cars. I wouldn't be suprised if that statement is true. It would take forever to accurately model 1000 cars for such a game.

Got the episodes for the PS3. Gonna finish TLAD story mode then move onto TBOGT. Bikes handle way better in TLAD. It is worth picking them over a car (if you find a decent one)
