Ho, and you think that trolling and flaming are not?
Like I said, the banning part is too extreme, system could be tested without...
I saw a mod like this run on a very busy forum (+1M visitors a month) for years without troubles and the only thing that was added to the posts were two very small buttons (+/-) and the rep total next to it... Sadly that forum has been closed so I can't show it here, but I'll ask my friend what mod he was using.
@Tommy: Personally I couldn’t care less about the financial aspects in your team, I know Walter has not always shared the right things about himself, I think his actions are a better ambassador for the team, I know he cares about lfs a lot and he’s very dedicated to what he does. I’ve seen many improvised leaders coming and going since I am on lfs, at first I thought Walter would have been one of them, he even had the all community thinking he was a moron, but he has been very resilient and his tenacity has overcome most challenges (in very funny ways sometimes….). For that I respect him!!
I hope you guys manage to make it a success story, those times are bad for lfs and many big teams are struggling, we need good and healthy competitors to have great races!...Get on it!!
No idea if this has been proposed before, but I’ve noticed that many forum members were posting quality stuff and that many were spending time to try helping others. I always have the feeling to reward those ppls with something more than ‘’good post bro’’ or ‘’+1’’, it seems like a waste of my time and a waste of space in the forum. So what would you all think about a reputation system?
I means something like two buttons added to each posts ‘’thumb up’’ and ‘’thumb down’’ which ppls can click when they appreciate the post (positively or negatively). Of course we all know that some ppls would abuse this system and give unlimited amount to their friends, so everyone could have a maximum of 3 points to give or take each day and a limit of 1 point per post to limit abuses . the posts could display its score (maybe on the buttons) and a column could be added to the members list to show reputations. Most of us are competitive ppls here and I am sure it would motivate many ppls to share more substantial stuff and others would be more careful while trolling around… And who knows, It could even help improve the quality of this forum!
On the side, to help admin work, we could even set a minimum of points allowed. e.g. if you get to -20 or -50 you get automatically banned for a week, but that’s maybe too extreme for now…
In the packet you've just downloaded you only need the file called ''autoruns'', right click it and run as admin, go to the ''Boot execute'' tab and uncheck the autochk bit..reboot to test you got the right one!
You’re all a bunch of butt kissers..it was slow, out of focus, it felt like the end of something and the music was so dramatic that my lfs player almost committed suicide…
LOL I am joking of course, beautifully done mate, I loved it!!
Since you want to use the 10H’s race rules and you allow us to discuss it, here are a couples of thoughts:
First I think endurance races above 6h should not use SC as it makes creative strategies pointless, no short stints to try building a gap to allow for the extra pit stop and no long stints to try saving one.. always the boring 1h stints…
Second, using time penalty during the race and SC is hash on the drivers, say that you have 10sec added time penalty and manage to build that gap to win the race, then 10min before the end of the race SC comes out, your effort is reduced to nothing. And also you are resulted to fight time as you have passed the driver 10sec before. As driver I prefer to take a longer DT penalty and get on with my race.
Also when you use multiclass or not and the SC is out, what is the point of letting everyone unlap themselves… In the 10h we’ve seen both GT2 and GT3 being allowed to do so and I couldn’t understand what was the point, without talking about the time it takes to do it…
SC should not be used as an instrument to keep the livestream watchers happy!
Strange to open sign ups so early before the event, I mean most of us don't know what we will do in RL in September and if we register now we could forget about it and plan something else...
We haven't changed the race day for GT1 Challenge which will have more seasons later, GT Masters is a bit different with longer races. Sadly it is hard to make everyone happy....
