Yea monster trucks are a bit silly, at least these things are proper race bred vehicals.

Just reading up on it, some interesting facts, limited to 100mph, and they have to wiegh over 5500kg :X. Plus that high cockpit will give a totally different view to the course. Just totally differrent to anything we have at the moment :P.

Greboth, I really don't recommend moving to sky broadband :/ Cable seems alot better then adsl, and theres less issues, and free upgrades . They're upgrading the 10mb service to 20mb sometime in the summer i think . And with all that speed and unlimited downloads, just download the tv shows you're missing :P.

Depends on my mood, if im in caribbean cruise ill stick something chilled on, like nightmares on wax (nod your head music ). If im proper racing its either no music, or reptative drum and base, nothing too interesting, but still fast (moving shadows 4.1 album is great for this). Don't like anything that distracts me, reptative music helps me zone out, and the speed well.... :P

I found out about it through planetside, was a demo'er in that (well trial) saw a post on the forums, ranted about flatout (orginal) downloaded the demo... two days later i got s2, Im slow, and can cause crashs sometimes, but god damn i just love the feeling, specially when beating my pb's, or winning due to the rest of the field being hotlappers (fast but only on one or two laps). Im consistant, don't crash often, but have a problem breaking my old/slow lines

Whats needed is a community who wants quality. Look at unreal tourny, how many mods are made for that game (christ i made one :/) And how many are succesful? Not many, but the ones that are are pretty damn good (if you've never played clone bandits for ut2k4 then I highly recomend it, just so much fun )

Easy way of stopping mods from ruining lfs imo is the UT way, when you want to run a mod, you run the lfs exe with some command line parameter (well another icon really) and you can only see other servers with that mod. Stops it crossing over into the pure lfs world, and stops all the conflicts etc, you got the latest version of a mod you'll see servers (if its a quality mod).

Dunno how that would work with tracks. But for full mods (not single cars) then i feel it would work quite well. And let people who just want lfs with no crap that option .

I would say the general strength of the community seems a bit weaker than it used to be, when it's small you become a big bunch of mates, sadly that feeling can only go when there's thousands of members chatting away. Nah, not a training video, a recruitment video maybe . And as for influences, ive not watched pitch black in some time so memory a little fuzzy :P. But whilst the film may have influenced a few things, the book (halfway through it now :X) seems to have influenced a hell of alot of scifi over the past 40 years.

Ive always thought this about global warming, never truely beliving that its all totally man made. Fact is its happened plenty of times in the past (from what they can tell through ice cores and the like). I still believe we're doing alot of damage to the planet, just not fully causing it to heat up. And I hate how the govement is using it to justify charging us more money (in the uk at least) and how companies are doing pr stunts to say they're green when in reality they aren't.

dude... you're just going to lose in s2 races period. You need to take the lfs career mode, realise you're crap... get better beating your pb's get nearer the mid pack, learn to overtake and be over taken. learn to get faster then these peeps, then join a league to get some real compution (im at the second stage, beating my PB's)

I'm always slightly disappointed when reading ass. They could do so much with the mag, but just seem to stretch it out (althrough 5th column was slightly interesting).

As for that snide comment, I feel its not that the lfs community want to keep out outsiders (quite the oppisite in most cases), its just that with such a central place for all players to chat it can seem quite close knit, and a bit intimidating. But it really doesn't take much to realise that outsiders are very welcome, unless they're demanding stuff (IE write articals for us now!!!!) or just take the piss. Or of course if you rile up the wrong people .

OT I know but I feel top gear has lost its way a little... I like the stunts, but they are taking up more and more time from the show. And I really think the interviews are just too long and too boring with non entiety celebs (well the occasional good one). They need to go back to driving stupidly fast cars, and doing road tests with all 3 of them in some random part of the country, always enjoy them bits.

As for getting s2.... Hope to see you online :P and see how fast your "unnatural" driving is

but insane consuming and spending of resources makes too much money for big companies :X. And trees don't actually convert that much co2, most of it is consumed by alge in the seas/lakes etc. Althrough thats starting to die off as well :/.

edit: Its all well and good being energy effecent and green at home, but that isn't the problem. Its massive factories (like honda?) Pumping out tons of harmful gasses, and dodgy chemicals. Everyone in the world could go green, but it won't make one spot of difference intill the big companies start properly sorting thier act out (instead of planting trees for PR).

Wierd problem, don't have this issue with me dfp, and not seen anyone else mention it either. Have you tried a reinstall of lfs/logitech drivers? only thing i can suggest.
