Was wondering about that too: even if i have the money, I won't buy one of these.

Yes, it's a bit expensive, specially if you consider that that's "only" the 301.

It's huuuge! I've once seen something about this beast in TV, but it was two or three years ago if I remember correctly.

I shall not be pussified to drive FWD, drift or cruise.

Long live XRT.

Long live RWD.

Long live massive turbos (XRT may not apply)!

Long live no traction control and obscene power to weight ratios!

I am also one of the few that actually races the XRT, even though my driving might be "ambitious but rubbish".

It sure is amazing to use one of these, but, unless you have some millions € on spare, it's foolishly expensive.
EDIT: the 301 is available at something like 24000$

Quote from J.B. :It's a big red circle. Nothing really that would prepare you for the consequences. In fact it's the same sign that would usually cost you a 20€ ticket not a totalled car and windscreen in your face.

Should there be a warning like "be careful, if you try to enter here by accelerating recklessly, despite all warnings which are clearly visible, the bollard will come up and that's it".

It's a pity.

How do those new DTM rules look like? I hope they're getting nearer to the original concept of "touring cars".

Quote from X-Ter :I'm planning a vacation in the UK, and I most probably will rent a car to move around in. Now... I wonder if the gear layouts in a normal cars (manual) is the same regardless of the fact that the seat is on the right hand side, or are they mirrored? I was sure they where the same, but a workmate said no way, it got to be mirrored.

So, is it?

It would be stupid to mirror the gear layout, you would have to redo all the linkage.

Our LHD Focus 1.8L Petrol (the 2.0 ST170 got 6 gears, as opposed to all other variants having 5 gears, though i'm not sure about diesels) has a
1 3 5
2 4 R
layout.

Quote from Kalev EST :For £1200 you could get a real used car instead of this invalid carriage.

There aren't enough used cars for every one who needs a cheap car.
TBH, i quite like it.

I went only 48kmh on a slight downhill near my house. If i had a longer gear ratio i could have gone faster...

Quote from ajp71 :I'm not sure, the E36 GT cars that I worked with for work experience used a litre for a typical lap (under 2 minutes) with the 3 litre straight 6 and 1.5 litres/lap with the M5 V8. Admittedly they were full race engines so you'd hope to get better fuel consumption from the road car but the V8 race car would probably be using about 5 litres a lap round the 'ring

I was talking about the 20,8km long nordschleife, not the GP track.

EDIT: Thanks, Buddha!

I only have one complain about this mod:
the fuel consumption.
It is quite low, you need less than a liter of fuel for a full nordschleife lap.

Quote from evilpimp :Plus it gives a change to people who have had bronze for a bit.
But off course with the good racers who will avoid the cashes theres gunna be the anoying people who you could find in Race 1 in there aswell.

But I still think it should be Bronze (Maybe its cuz I only have bronze:shrug

I think it gives a good diversity of cars for us Bronze licensed drivers

+1, it would render bronze much more useful.

Found it on a german RC car drift site, and thought: "another of these pathetic pseudo games with no real cars and awful physics".
Tried it, and after one day I bought the license.
