Hello racers,

The following drivers are locked in to Round 6 of the championship, meaning they are already eligible for qualifying on Sunday:

Pauli Peltokangas (Botswanan Salama)
Joni Katila (jsrk)
Sean Lee (microspecv)
Niko Puntola (nikopdr)
Karolis Motiejuitis (Sobis)
Sandro Chanturia (S.Chanturia)
Dániel Balla (MandulAA)
Oscar Hardwick (oscarhardwick)
Gábor Gyüre (Viperakecske)
Michal Málek (michal 1279)

These drivers must still confirm their appearance by the deadline.

All other drivers are required to attend the Pre-Qualifying session, to be held at 14:00 UTC on 6 December 2020.

It will take place in the main TBO Challenge server. Should we have more than 40 drivers able and willing to partake in Pre-Qualifying, we will split the cars evenly between two servers, and run the sessions concurrently.

Drivers will have 20 minutes of track time. There is no limit to how many laps or pit exits you may make, those restrictions are only for the proper Qualifying session.

There are currently 28 spots available for transfer to the race meeting proper. This may change based on how many of the top 10 confirm and/or appear on the day. Drivers just outside the limit should remain on standby and be ready to join in if a spot opens up in the time leading up to Race 1. As with last round, if we do not have a number of confirmed drivers making Pre-Qualifying necessary, it will be cancelled.

Round 5 Official Results and Points after Round 5 posted.

5 drivers mathematically eligible for the Driver's Championship, Pauli with a significant lead, however. Joni and Sean are tied 304 points back, Niko is 326 back. A bad showing either race from Botsi could throw P1 wide open, but it'll be tight between the three mentioned, and Karolis could flip to P2 if the three ahead of him have a bad outing.

It's between Team S1DUS and World Class Lions for the Team's championship, but again, S1DUS heavily favoured in the math.

Lap AND MPR timecode of incident: Lap 4, mpr @ 8:40
Car(s) involved: 87, 88
Location of Incident: Turns 6-7
Brief Description of Incident:

I'd like to make an appeal of the penalty i was given here. It was a bit of a hopeless blocking manoveur, granted, but nobody in that situation lost more than a second of time. Car 88 could've easily got me at the exit of this turn if he tried to passed me without contact and just aiming for the exit. 88 also tried to push my car out of the racing line when entering the oval just a turn before this happened, would you really expect me to give him room to go past after this kind of contact? If someone bumps in corners like that, it's safe to expect to be bumped in the next turn, which is also why I did brake a bit more excessively and dive on the inside line. I do not want to continue racing like this, though.

There are some small similarities to an incident that has happened before (3 rounds ago, to be precise) that coincidentally also includes a car included in this incident. This was not penalized, nor warned. Sure, it's a completely different braking zone than what we had today, but there is a similarity of swerving, and blocking mid-turn. This went on without a warning, even though there are 4 moves to cut off draft or block the entry into turn (I would deem first 2 moves legal, blocking the right lane 1st time and returning back to the original racing line, but there is still 2 too many after those). I have a clip of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75DJyQYuNyY, you can find this from the Round 2 Feature Race mpr, timecode @ 7:20.

This round 2 incident in particular is one of the reasons why i think giving a drive-through for this was too harsh. I do admit what i did wasn't exactly the best way to deal with the situation in hand, but it certainly could've been worse. Nobody was spun around there, nobody was seriously hurt and racing carried on normally afterwards.

Appeals must follow the appeals process laid out in NDR Sporting Code Article Vi, Section 4.
