LFSCART Light Series 2021 - Skins

Per the regulations, you are required to run a skin with elements that we provide. For this season, we are providing a logo on the airbox area as an overlay (2048 square). Please overlay this image on your livery, and place the car number on the following locations:
  • Both rear wing endplates, clearly visible
  • On nose, to be read facing the front of the car
You must also have the driver's name and national flag on the sides of the cockpit.

The series logo and the NDR logo are provided for your convenience in the pack.

Driver naming in-game is to follow the NDR Sporting Code, using the format ## F. Last. Number, first initial, and last name should have one space between them. The car number must be in white (^7) or grey/default. The Driver's name may be in any colour, but remember that each colour change costs you two characters. You must use the name provided to us in the entry list.

No skin may contain material deemed offensive, pornographic, political, or other such cases. The Stewards have right to refuse any skin based on elements.

Please post your skins by 16:00 UTC on the Friday prior to the round, so we can generate a skinpack and a spotting board.

LFSCART Light Series 2021 - Announcement

Hello racers!

We are pleased to bring you another returning series to Live for Speed, the LFSCART Light Series!

The series has seen many formats in the past, but always great racing with the ever popular Formula XR (FOX). Last run in 2013, the season saw James Peace win the Driver's Championship, and Team Vires take the Team's Championship.

The schedule:
15th August: Blackwood Grand Prix (BL1)
29th August: Kyoto Ring North (KY2X_K21)
12th September; Rockingham Oval (RO3)
26th September: South City Town Course (SO5)
10th October: Westhill National (WE1)

Each race meeting on a road course will feature two races of 120km in length, the oval round will be one race of 240km. Race 2 at each round will see a grid reversal of anywhere from the top 8 to top 12, based on the Race 1 winner's finish time.

LFSCART Light is a team-oriented series, teams enter a maximum of 3 cars to the season, and assign drivers to those cars at each round.

Round 7 results official, and posted.

Points after 7 rounds now posted.

B2R Antonio wins the championship if he: Finishes 2nd or better, or ahead of Nova in any combination.

Nova wins the championship if he:

- Wins the race and Antonio finishes 3rd or worse, regardless of fastest lap,
- Finishes 2nd WITH FASTEST LAP and Antonio finishes 5th or worse,
- Finishes 3rd and Antonio finishes 7th or worse WITHOUT FASTEST LAP,
- Finishes 4th WITH FASTEST LAP and Antonio finishes 8th (9th without fastest lap to either driver)
- Finishes 5th WITH FASTEST LAP and Antonio finishes 10th or worse WITHOUT FASTEST LAP (Antonio must not score in this case if Nova does not get fastest lap)

No other case gets Nova the title.

Tiebreaker favours Antonio - Both have two wins, Antonio has three 2nd place finishes, Nova has no second place finishes. Nova can only win on a tie if he also wins the race.

Round 6 official results and points following posted.

With two rounds to go, and 42 points available, Antonio and Sean are in the proverbial driver's seat, but misfortune at the tight and twisty Hong Kong ePrix circuit for either could bring Ayoub, Texas, and Mandula right into the thick of it.

If Antonio was to win at Round 7, Sean would have to finish 3rd or better to keep the title fight alive into the finale at Lmaoring.

Penalties from Steward's Investigations and Procedural Decisions of Fact:

Quote :Lap 1, Turn 1
[MRc] Texas, RG^RedBoT

RG^RedBoT - WARNING - Causing avoidable contact

Quote :Lap 11, Turn 2/3
B2マ Antonio, Iron|Doni

Iron|Doni - 10-second Stop-Go Penalty - Causing an avoidable contact under Safety Car. This is converted to a 20-second time penalty post-race.

Quote :Lap 11/12
Caris_83, [MRc]xpablousky, [WCL] T.Soini

Caris_83 - Drive-Through Penalty - Overtaking under Safety Car

[MRc]xpablousky and [WCL] T.Soini were judged to be within their rights to overtake Caris_83 on the pit straight on Lap 11, as Caris_83 was well below 50 kph for several seconds on exit of the final corner. Both drivers hesitated before overtaking; therefore they were justified in their move.

Caris_83 did not have the right to retake his position in this case, therefore the penalty. As it is being applied post-race, it is converted to an 8 second time penalty.

Quote :Lap 25, Turns 10-11
[MRc] Texas, RG^Mandula

RG^Mandula - Drive-Through Penalty - Chat ("perm wtf was that")
[MRc] Texas - Drive-Through Penalty - Causing an avoidable incident

Both of these are converted to 8-second time penalties post race.

The stewards also looked at the following and decided to take No Further Action to each:

Quote :Lap 29, Turn 12
Iron|Doni, RG^RedBoT

RG^RedBoT late on the brakes, hits the back of Iron|Doni. RG^RedBoT spins. Self penalzing, NFA the call.

Quote :Lap 37, Turn 10
Iron|Doni

Iron|Doni clips the kerbs at Turn 9, causing him to travel inside the apex at Turn 10. There was no time gained, therefore the NFA call.

The following drivers are given a 5-point penalty for spectating from on course without race control permission:

Event Specifics

1. Alerting the Administration:
Use @sc to alert administration to look at your car or the section of track you were in when you use the @sc command. The command will tell the administration what location you're at.

2. Communications:
All drivers are required to be in the NDR TeamSpeak server: teamspeak.newdimensionracing.com - Race Control messages will be broadcast to anyone in a channel in the Pit Wall in TS. If you would like a subchannel for your team or friendly drivers, please let us know and we will create one.
Make sure you have your race number and/or your LFS username as your nickname on TeamSpeak

3. Broadcast
This race will be broadcasted by Sim Broadcasts: https://twitch.tv/simbroadcasts

They will be in the NDR TeamSpeak. You are invited to be interviewed on stream during the breaks between sessions. Please follow their terms listed at https://simbroadcasts.tv/voice - we will apply those to our Commentary Box area.

4. Driver Naming:
Be sure to be in your proper name format Number (grey or white), space, then First initial last name [eg. 00 J. Palmer]. The name may be in colour, but we prefer all white - consistency looks better, and is easier to read.

5. Tracker:
Timing will be available and running on http://tracker.newdimensionracing.com.

6. Wind Conditions:
Low wind for all sessions, except Pre-Qualifying.

7. Virtual Safety Car Test
There will be a test Virtual Safety Car deployment in the free practice session, starting about 5 minutes remaining in the session. All drivers are encouraged to participate in this test.

NOTE: VSC SPEEC IS 100 kph / 62 mph FOR THIS ROUND

8. Pit Entry and Pit Exit
On pit entry, all parts of the car must be to the left of the blend line along its entire length.
On pit exit, all parts of the car must be to the left of the blend line along its entire length.

9. Qualifying Procedure
Qualifying will be set to 22 minutes, with the pit exit closed for the first two minutes. Drivers may queue at pit exit. The course will open for laps with 20 minutes remaining, and remain open until the time has elapsed. The pit exit will close at the chequered flag. No driver should exit the pitlane without sufficient time to start a timed lap.

10. Race Start:
Each race will have one unscored formation lap, followed by a double-file rolling start.

The grid for the race will spawn on driver's right, in the pitlane. When the session timing starts, drivers are to pull away from their grid spots in grid order.

The SC will slow to 80 kph/49 mph after Turn 21, and stay at the head of the field. After Turn 21, the field should begin forming into dual-file formation. Polesitter will be asked their chosen side during the gridding process. The Safety Car will pull into the pitlane right before the pit wall. Drivers should hold pace until the green flag is given - overtaking is permitted on race start from the green flag.

In the event of an aborted start, there will be no message except a voice wave-off call in TeamSpeak. Drivers should maintain pace until Turn 1, and then return to single-file formation for another attempt. Two wave-offs are permitted before the race start will be a standard safety car restart. Race laps will start counting after the first start attempt, regardless of start or no start.

11. Safety Car:
On Restarts, the Safety Car will pull away from the field after Turn 17. It must not be overtaken before it crosses the 1st Safety Car line.

Overtaking is not permitted on all restarts until YOU have crossed the start-finish line.

12. Penalties This Round:

We are not using the standard LFS penalty system this round. The insim control application has a custom penalty system. If you are given a Stop-Go Penalty, you will need to stop in the penalty box at the start of pitlane, marked with red cones and red chalk. You must stop your car within this box and stay still for 10 seconds, or the system will declare too short and re-issue the penalty.

You have three passes of the start/finish line to serve a penalty. If you wish to defer the DT or SG penalty to take pit service, you may do so - that lap will not count against your three lap limit.

13. End of Race
After finishing the race, please slow WELL BELOW racing speeds after Turn 1 and proceed to pit lane. The top 3 shall report back to Start / Finish Line for podium pose.

Top three and anyone else wishing to be interviewed on the broadcast should join the Commentary Box Waiting Room, and one of the commentators will move you to the Commentary Box.

14. Miscellany:
Bump drafting is probibited in all sessions.

Do NOT under any circumstances Shift+P or Shift+S from on course during the race without authorization from Race Control.

You do NOT need permission to retire once you are in the pit lane.

If you suffer a lost connection or timeout from the server, you are permitted to rejoin the race, and we will add your completed laps to your car once you've rejoined.

Please post any procedural questions in this thread.

Good luck!
