Are you saying that car has enough power to break traction in 3rd gear?? Through power alone?

Once again I didn't practice for this, and once again that caused me lots of problems. The setup I was using didn't fully suit my style of driving, especially under braking, where I like to balance the car under the throttle. However it was my own fault for not giving myself more preparation. My tyres were cooked after a couple of laps, and so there was no real need for me to waste my time fighting for the podium.

Congratulations to Hannu for the race and championship.

Quote from Hyperactive :I just had to remove the Nordschleife folder in the locations folder. Now it works, I hope.

Does the attached file work ok?

Yep worked fine for me. Nice lap. I don't know the ring anywhere near well enough to drive with so much commitment though.

Today we had a lecture from a William's F1 design engineer. One of the things he told us is that Honda's new car is even worse than last year's car.

Apparantly Jenson Button can be quoted saying "The f**kers have gone and made it worse!"

Even Wurz, who used to test for Williams, has told them it's utter crap as well.

No it's not really due to the FFB motor's, as he is talking about the part where you straighten the wheel back up after a slide.

I mean, yes, you have to help the FFB motor's countersteer fast enough, but you want to aim to start straightening the wheel back up ASAP before the car has actually straightened, if you are too late then what you described happens. It's more about getting a feel for the car than speed.

Hahahahaha, based on how Alien's post was written, and the time of day, and his feeling's for Kev, I would say that maybe a bit too much to drink?

Hehe still, everyone has there opinion. I would say that it is very frustrating how few worthy sims actually exist. There is so much room for improvement.

@Gabkicks, yeah I've spent ages setting it all up how I like. I'm using realfeel for one.

I had another go on the ring Niel's, and as long as you keep your corner entry speed lowish, you can balance the car quite nicely on the throttle.
Now all I have to do is learn this huge track...

Haha so now no one can join until Spanky gets back?

We didn't know how to restart, sorry.

I'm also "Still interested but cannot confirm yet". Can't really confirm as I don't even know if I'll be in England that date, but I think I will be.

Ok I admit it. But I bought the game shortly afterwards. The thing I don't get, is why should we support ISI, when they have come up with nothing but crap content.

Quote from Linsen :Does the E21 work properly with realfeel for you guys? Somehow it doesn't for me. I either get virtually no feedback at all or I get heavy spikes with virtually no feedback inbetween...

I find setting realfeel to this works good:

[BMW 320 E21]
MaxForceAtSteeringRack=1500.000000
SteeringDamper=2500.000000
FFBMixerRealFeelPercent=-100.000000
SmoothingLevel=0

Although I'm not sure if it was designed to work with realfeel, hence the -100 bit instead of 100, but it feels way better than default force feed crap.

Edit: Nvm, think I've sorted it.

Sorry to bump this thread, but although Niels' mod is very very good, I can't understand why (the corvette included) in rFactor you get nothing but understeer when you lift off the throttle..

Infact, in the C6 it's basically understeer all the time, unless you really provoke it, whereby you are given massive oversteer.

That new 9600GT does look like good value but it's overkill for me. :P

Back to the issues I mentioned above, I've sorted out the jerky video issue with more up to date drivers.

However as soon as I try overclocking my CPU again, the gfx card just crashes, and the whole PC dies.

I can't see how it would be a power issue, because I've managed to overclock my new gfx card (to 550/760), and with 3dmark05 running, there are no problems or letdowns...

- ASRock4CoreDual
- 1 Ide HDD

- XFX 7900GS 256mb
- 1 case fan

I'm only using the ones which came with the CD atm (91.47)

Right I've got the card fitted. But I'm having some issues with it under certain situations.

I have an ASRock4CoreDual motherboard, and an E1240 processor, which I normally have overclocked to 2.4 Ghz (300 mhz is max fsb for that motherboard). Now this ran fine with my old gfx card. With the new one, the gfx card seemed to crash after a few minutes in windows (screen went black, came back, then finally froze). I now have the processor overclocked back to 2.14 Ghz, and no more problems. I'm just wondering why this happens in the first place? Another thing, which happens even now, is that when I'm playing a HD video the mouse sometimes seems a little jerky.
