Quote from Ian.H :I'll have to disagree here... no tracks I know in real life have crazy shadows appearing from nowhere and the most ridiculous clipping & popping I've ever seen.

As I've always said though, the texture work considering the low-res textures used has been utilised pretty well.. but due to so many errors / glitches on just about every track in the game, it removes any kind of "very realistic" enthusiasm for me. Fix these.. and Blackwood in particular would be very realistic IMO.. by far the best track in the game.

Back to the original topic, I'd agree that the UF appears to be one of the new cars with the least detail externally. The looks / design itself is fine, but the poly count in places could do with some additional polys I think.. not to change the styling in any way, just to refine some of the corners / edges. Likewise I think the interior is pretty much fine for the UF.. there wasn't much to an old Mini dash either Smile

Regards,

Ian

Play any other game, and LFS tracks look just as good. They are miles better than rFactor tracks.

Truely, TRUELY awesome. GO Norbi!!

I can just think, if Norbi becomes good in this, will LFS be seen by real racing teams as a genuine grassroot for RL motorsport?

Oh just awesome.

The tracks in LFS look very very realistic, but the cars are really lacking. I don't think that many more polygons are needed, but some better lighting and mapping effects.

To be fair, it's not as if the two cars look in any way at all similar is it?

A few minor sound updates I'll stick in here.

BF1_NEW.eng - *Slighty* more engine like sound, and better gear shift sounds.

FZ5_NEW.eng - More meaty "flatter" sound, but still refined.

FZ5_NEW2.eng - More race car like, slightly tweaked from earlier one in this thread.

FZR_NEW.eng - Less roar, but more meaty and more 911 like.

Quote from DEVIL 007 :I would built something on AMD2 X2.Something like X2 3800 or 4200+.
This one faster in games then E2140 for sure.

But you do realise the E2140 can be overclocked to 3.2 GHz with stock cooling. I'd go with the intel.

To be fair Leprekaun, saying things about your good ability (whether true or not) isn't going to get you support from the forums...

But anyway, anything you say now is just digging you deeper. Who cares what people say? If you know how good you are then that's what counts surely?

Edit: If you believe you are the best, that's good, as you will be better in LFS because of it, but it isn't going to get you many fans by saying it on the public forum.

*Ignores the bickering*

I don't think talent plays no part whatsoever, I think if you have less "talent" than someone else, you will need to concentrate/practice harder to challenge them.

However I don't think talent is as much a significant factor as people think, and lack of it can be overcome with concentration, belief and determination.

Quote from Austin31287 :250watts =( http://www.dabs.com/productvie ... e=All&NavigationKey=0 can buy if any gd

From the reviews they look very good for the price. But if you want reliability get something like Antec, 400W should be enough IMO, on amazon or something.

If you can't see it on the power unit, you may have to unscrew the outer case of the tower, then unscrew the power unit from the case. The label with the information will be on one side of the PSU.

Quote from Austin31287 :it is about 230vol

mobo http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ ... duct.php?prodid=MB-120-AB
C2D http://www.overclockers.co.uk/ ... duct.php?prodid=CP-151-IN

that wht i like =) is that ok or s**T wht hz is that C2D is Low 1.6 when mine is 2.8 explane plz

How many watts is the PSU not what voltage, something like 400 W would be enough.

And those parts are good, including that CPU, it says only 1.6 GHz but like someone said the architecture is better, and plus it can be happily overclocked to 3.2 GHz, which could be equivilent to 6 plus GHz P4.

Quote from Electrik Kar :I often think "I can't do that" about my own racing, and then every now and then I'll completely surprise myself. Sometimes not trying is almost as good a strategy as trying!

Lol, true that has happened to me also, but I was generalising.

Oh and BTW if some people give up trying to do something, it won't always be because they don't think they can do it, it can be because they have had enough of trying.

zeugnimod: Why think like that? You are human, whoever is also human, so why go around thinking you will NEVER beat them?

P.S. If talent does exist, I think it just means some people with less "talent" (possibly me? I don't know) need to try harder. But this is all a theory.

Quote from sinbad :There are people that play semi-pro (high-standard) golf all their life, and they'll never be the best. There are players starting out that will be as confident as anyone, but they won't make it. They just don't have "it".

Granted if you have more "talent", you can get better quicker, but "less-talented" people can still get there, it just may take longer and more effort. But the golfers you talk about will never get better because they think they won't / can't get any better. Put it this way, I've never thought to myself, "I can't do that" unless it was physically impossible for me to do so.

Edit: In the AutoX competition, after the first few days I couldn't get under 1:06.11 after many many laps. I rethought a day or so later, looked at how I could improve, and shaved another 2 seconds off. I'm no god, but neither is anyone else, which is why 20 odd people are quicker than me at the moment.

Leprekaun actually makes a good point. Talent is overrated IMO.

I disagree with him when he says ANYONE can be the best, but if you go around thinking that you will never beat "so and so" because they are simply better than you, that won't get you anywhere.

There is no driver who is the best and doesn't believe he/she could be. "Aliens" are only human just like you or me, and to beat them, you must believe that you can beat them.

As for everyone hits there own limit, that's wrong. If they think they can't go faster than they probably won't. However if they believe they still can, and look at what they are doing wrong etc, then they will go quicker. Of course it all takes practice and determination though.

Doesn't D stand for Duo? In which case he already has a dual core processor.

Quote from tristancliffe :Hamilton had nothing to 'unlearn', no F1 bad habits (or rather, different habits) to forget about.

Erm, Hamilton had everything to unlearn from a GP2 car, which is quite significantly different. I really don't understand your hate of both Hamilton AND Alonso.

+ 1 from me for the cockpit only view. I believe wheels only gives an unfair advantage.

HOWEVER, like others have said, the camera position needs some flexibility, I move it forward slightly so I can see more of the road from the windscreen.

Awesome qualifying! Couldn't believe how Kimi beat Alonso with that error on the last corner. Then Hamilton comes and destroys everyone! I have a feeling he is lightest on fuel though.

Quote from MyBoss :Well, not to be harsh, but there are many addons/mods (what you call it) to LFS to, wasn't it your sounds that Scawen put into the V patch?
And that guy that made hi res textures for the tracks.

Something can be done better, but it doesen't mean that the devs are useless

You've got the wrong end of the stick. :P

Quote :It shows how utterly useless the devs are... (the rFactor ones Scawen :razz

Edit: Unless you did mean the rFactor devs, I'm not sure, anyway if you do, well they have provided a good base for modders to work from, but they are still making money off other peoples effort (the rFactor devs). I always remember one of the rFactor devs say something like "you can only drift a car with an appropriate setup" which is just not true..

Quote from sweetreid :First was hit from the right side very hard, shifting his body to the right of the car, then hits the wall at a sharp angle at 150 mph. His head hit the steering wheel where the helmet is not very strong.

No, it shifted his body to the right, so his head missed the steering wheel, and therefore didn't stop until his skull cracked where the neck joins. He chose not to use the hans device, and payed the price. Why the hell anyone would choose not to use a safety device designed to reduce the risk of death is totally beyond me.

Quote from Wim Sjøholm :Why is that? Because they have made a simulator where the community can add content to it ?

Which means they can't be bothered to put in their own effort to make decent cars / tracks / sounds, when it is possible to do so.
