LOL, I pulled the handbrake at the lights and rev'ed my car up, and the sports car next to me took it as meaning I wanted a drag race and he took off on the third rev, even on a red light
I like to honk my horn if cars are blocking me on a red. Usually they only get pissed and swear at me, or stick up a finger, but one guy actually got out and try to punch me

Also I didn't realize you can interact with NPC with the right D-Pad button! Lots of fun lost :/

I'm also parking properly more often in this GTA....
Seem to care about the cars are lot more

In my proper garage, I have a GT-R knock off stashed there, bonus special car....?

Quote from Crashgate3 :Are the waves' shapes affected by the rocks - is a physics simulation, or is it just the textures of things like foam and swell?

The waves are actual rolling geometry and changes shape/deforms, but the spray and foam look like textures, but still natural looking.
There must be some form of adaptive tessellation going on - maybe

edit - you can compete in TRIATHLONS!

Quote from pipa :Anyone got some proper info how the garages work or how/when your car gets impounded?
Drove a rather expensive car it into a golf course lake and was wondering if i might see it again.

If you store the car in your proper garage, not the one in the safehouse, it should always be around. Respawn, although I remeber something about buying insurance...

Then again, the car I stored in the safehouse garage has stayed there, but not always.

Quote :Just put a upgrade on it and you can reclaim it at the impound if you lose it.

Here are some time of day change ones - you can see the clouds move, the sun/moon as well, lens flares, lights of cars driving over the bridge etc, and the tide and surf changes as well!

The beaches are seriously impressive, technically and artistically - waves, surf, caustics, refraction and the look. Even swimming pools have nice caustics.
You can just stand there, soak in the ambience and audio - relaxing, so it's a bit like Skyrim in this regard
I should take Chop "dog" for a walk here and play fetch with him

And the characters actually get and look wet

Quote from ACCAkut :why should this be the main reason? The game is Rated R, meaning in theory that boy can wait another 8 years till he's legally allowed to play it

from what I've seen its not that bad, a few cars (that R8 clone) really drive like on rails, but other still oversteer, understeer and spin if you drive them wrong.

They do handle differently, I've spun out with the muscle cars on fast turns
Also, almost flipped my car while turning hard, got it up on 2 wheels

Although the steepness of the inclines you can drive up are a bit wack

Love the warble on the gear changes

Quote from ColeusRattus :Short verdict on the driving physics:

1) The cars are much grippier, but then I always thought the GTA4 ones were a tad too slidy. Now they're a tad too grippy, but still fun to drive.

2) Crashes are way worse than in GTA IV. I guess they got rid of the soft body eformation of GTA IV for performance reasons, but due the almost complete lack of deforming (instead, parts fall off), the crashes feel like bumping matchbox cars. Also, there seems to be an issue with car weight. When hitting a car of the same or a higher weight, your own car seems to skid around it upon impact, with little to no impact on the car you hit.

Also, I got mostly two results from crashes: either the "skidding" around the obstacle with no real loss of traction or orientation, OR it's flipping all over the place with multiple revolutions around all three axis', but nothing in between.

Still, a great game. But after about 5 hours in I still think The Last of Us is the best PS3 game of this year, if not of all time, even though I do like Sandbox games and dislike survival horror...

Hmm I dunno, I just finished a 43 min single mission stint, according to the game, which ended up in long cop car chase, over a huge area, and some of the cop cars I jacked during one of the many firefights was absolutely totalled!
Lots of funny situations developed throughout. Wish there was a way you could save replays

I love this car that I jacked from a nice lady

Cars just have more heft and solidity to them - nice enough to want to keep and mod them etc
Kinda Mclaren SLR'ish

I have no issue with the car control, you just need more stick nuance in the initial stick travel. No problems once your used to it
But I keep bailing out of the car for some reason once in a while when I try to honk the horn
Same for the sprint/jump, sometime it allows you to do it and sometimes it doesn't depending on the context - makes no sense

Don't like the planted cars though - I was towing a car, and then had it unhooked from an impact. So I tried to backup and push a car out of the way to hook it back up, but the other car was planted even with my torquey big ass truck pushing :/

I have visited the strip club with 2 characters so far, the black guy has 3 of the hotter chicks in his phone as contacts after having a one night stand with each, and now I can call them up anytime for a free good time
They also text him sexy photos after each time
I also had the married character bang the hot blonde stripper as well, and he too has her on the phone - damn slut

---

PS3 disc version only need around 8GB or so

Graphics are a little jagged AA wise, and the polygon tits means I can't fap to the strip dancers :/
High res PC version and mod needed!

Voices are too loud and cars/environment sound is not loud enough, wish I could tweak that!
The Ferrari rip off I just drove has superb gear change and throttle blip sounds

disappointed I could not shoot hoops on the BBall courts

Quote from Rappa Z :Went and paid in full at the store earlier today. Now I get priority (separate line cutting everyone, even preorders) when I go back at midnight.

Not that it matters, because it will take 6 hours to install.

10-15 mins or so to install actually

Looking at the paper map it comes with, it's like TDU in scale!

Will keep me hooked till the PC version, which I'll also get on Steam most likely
Quote :Before going to bed I will give this advice to presumptive buyers: avoid the PSN version. I am sure that reviewers/digital foundry were served nice bluray copies that utilize streaming from the hard drive and the disc drive at the same time, but the psn version clearly has pop in. Street lights and road signs pop in all the time. But also smaller buildings and other random stuff. Considering the digital nature of the game, there is no quick fix like the "avoid installing disc 2" thing on 360. Rockstar might fix this down the road, but who knows, maybe the PC version is out by then. Get yourself a disc based copy of the game or wait for PC.

Quote from DeKo :All I would say is, if you're getting this game on PS3, buy it from the PS Store and download it. The noise of my Blu-Ray drive constantly reading is making me go insane.

But the price on the PSN is insane :/

When is the PC version coming out?

Maybe it's just me but GTA 4 had crappy handling cars :auto:

I actually think it's good that they don't all slide around all over the place and end up getting wrecked before I arrive at my destination...

Quote from Mysho :I like the every bit, one thing I don't like is, that it's online only. That basically means you can easily get your game destroyed by kid who connected your game and tried to kill or spoil your game "for the lulz"... If this won't be happening all the time then I really have to buy the console... Last of Us, GTA, Gran Turismo, Watch Dogs... Too great to ignore it.

It'll be on PC

Quote from Boris Lozac :Where did you get this idea, when was that EVER possible? You had this kind of 'maps' in GT4 too, and speaking of which, seriously man this looks like PS2 graphics to me.
And someone said i get easily excited lol

Kaz already confirmed Ronda as a course maker locale, 100x100km map area.

I mean detail in terms of the overall scale of the location compared to the real region

The writing is there and they removed the covers on the roof

very nice driving roads there....

Quote from Boris Lozac :You, must be joking?

Man it must have a taken a serious amount of work!
Especially if they really tried to get everything accurate to the real city. I mean look at the writing on the building at bottom right, which you would never really see/notice on the road...
And the fact you can drive on those roads on the bottom left etc

from this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV1abWVXGn4

Quote :The city of Ronda, Spain has been re-confirmed as a Course Maker location in GT6.

The Course Maker in GT6 is “fundamentally different” from GT5.

Users will be able to “lay out their [custom] tracks freely” in an area of over 100 square kilometers. (Note: the exact quote from the translator is “100 kilometers by 100 kilometers”. However, this would be 10,000 square kilometers, an unreasonably large size and most likely a mistranslation.)

Quote from Boris Lozac :The fanboyism is strong with this one..

Kaz says 100 square KM area, so one would assume the background roads are driveable

about as close you'll get to a free roam "track" in GT6

Even those roads in the background look driveable
