Quote from xfirestorm :As I thought.
Maybe change the comments of such settings to: Enable/disable sending driver/track/car/lap data to AIRW....

Or maybe:-
Quote :
# PROS: Do not send driver/track/car/lap data to AIRW - boolean
# Please set this item to FALSE if you're running a tweaked server.
# Note: only PROS version communicates with AIRW.

Quote from cargame.nl :Not cut maybe, but you can use the walls for some small benefits.

The path check helps in these situations? I would love to see barrier detection but as we know that is not something EQ can give us.

Quote from EQ Worry :My insufficient description of one item in one of the Airio configuration files had an undesired effect – for months it was much much easier to make "clean" lap on CG than on any other server using Airio default settings. Unfortunately these clean laps were sometimes obviously wrong (car completely off the track), so thats why the unpopular move.

I'm sorry to make people unhappy or even angry by deleting some of their precious data. On the other hand I'm happy to see these AIRW features are valued additions to LFS racing, because developing them took considerable amount of time and energy.

Ah, I did not realise that the unrealistic times were from CG.

The online laptime database was always a good motivation for me and it is dissapointing that you had to delete all of the records, for maybe a handfull of incorrect times (restricted cars..GT2 etc?).
No doubt the charts will start to fill with good times once again and people will soon forget about all of this.

There are many tracks where you find that line will invalidate the lap. I personally would agree and say yes that is off path because I like using the "2 wheels on track rule" and the track is defined by the white lines.
Of course there are a number of arguements against my opinion such as- it may not be invalidated in LFS hotlap mode, virtually any real racing you watch they will use the same areas...etc...here my opinion is that everyone is in the same boat so it is fair. Now that you have the command on to tell you when you invalidate a lap it is easy to learn the limits within a few laps or so.

The only problem area for me concerning the path data would be South City, as it would seem impossible to cut the track anyway?

You are only using layouts and you tried loading layouts with Airio as suggested?
A simple fix would be to use the 2.5.0 .exe if that worked before...or maybe just remove the path files....no one else seems to be complaining about 2.5.1 saving pb times.

Quote from BigPeBe :Nah engine sucks, carbs just allow air to go through and use the airflow and negative pressure to deliver fuel.

Sorry if this is getting OT.

If we are being pedantic- the engine does not suck. The high pressure air outside of the inlet expands into the low pressure area in the cylinder.

Quote from Psysim :I know this could be 'digging up an old post' but its the first time I have seen this thread, and only just seen my name nearly being dragged through the mud. Umm what ever it was, I wasn't involved, I can tell that without reading too much, but I don't use your server and never have. However, this thread my explain why I had to contact Scawen to get my FIXED ip removed from a block list on the master server. Please, don't drag my name through the mud, even if I have banned you or even been rude to you for some reason, its just not nice.

Yes, it is digging up an old thread....and for your information you were on the server around the time in question.
If you would care to check your LFSW race details for the date- 15 March 2009. You were not banned from our server.

Quote from JackSun :Well why not try the Redline way.

It is an old thread before such technological wizardry as a limited admin system...or at least before it was mainstream.

Quote from BARNABA :why not use a ranking system like this:

Airio has similar ideas available.

The translations are found in the msg folder, open the correct translation and edit it. Although I am unsure that Lithuanian translation is available yet (presuming the abbreviation to be LT) ?
Quote :Language pack is optional, without it Airio offers only EN. Install user languages by copying the MSG files into Airio folder and typing !rld in the running instance. The following other languages are almost done: EE, PT, LT, IT.

You need to add an ident key so that Airio will download the latest world records. You get an ident key on Lfs desktop, its found under "My Lfs Settings -> Pubstat access".

Enter the Identkey in Airio.cfg.txt :-
# LFSW PubStats key - string
# If IdentKey is empty no LFSW data will be downloaded/available. In
# FULL version you may define several keys by starting/concatenating
# '+' to speed up free data retrieval process. Note that the keys
# must belong to different people, e.g. team members.

I am really not offended but there is a lot of rubbish said about WD40 on the net.
As an example from the link you gave :-
Quote :Do not use WD-40, or a similar product. I understand that this will dry out the seals, and further and more frequent cleaning and lubing of the pots will become standard procedure.

There are no seals in the potentiometer! As I said before they will need to be done again as WD40 is not a cure but it will not make cleaning any more or less frequent.

Quote from Leprekaun :Hi there. I wanted to clean my pedals today and I read a post from someone that I could use WD40 to clean the pots. After having read on a few other websites, I realise that this was a huge mistake so can anyone tell me what pots I would specifically need for a G25 and where would be a good place to get them (preferably Irish, UK or European dealer). My pedals are working perfectly now but just when they start playing up, I'd like to replace the pots then. Thank you.

What did you read that made you think it is a huge mistake?
WD40 will not harm any of the parts/pots on the pedals, I assure you.
Will the pedals start to spike again eventually? Yes of course, WD40 can not stop the inherent problems of potentiometers. I have used WD40 on my pedals 3 times now over nearly 3 years of using my G25 and they have not turned to jelly/dust yet.

Remove the pedal plates then remove all the silver screws from underneath, carefully take the 2 pieces apart (there is a wire routed in the top half)....then using either WD40 or a contact cleaner squirt in the little gap on the side of the potentiometers....it helps to have some absorbent tissue. Work the pedals and give it a few more squirts then you should be done.
Alternatively you can dismantle the pedals and remove the pots and take them apart...but tbh unless they are full of junk you wont need to.

Quote from DCke :Thx a lot B2R Anthoop for the help and the support u given , hes one of the good guys on LFS

regards DCke

No problem, glad I could help.

For anyone else the problem was that we had to select a car that was in the rotation string in order for rotation to work.

I hope it turns out to be true, I would like to see David Croft in his place. I do not think that Coulthard would work as I think you need a commentator type to work with the racing experience of Brundle....but lets be honest anyone would be better than Legard.

If you are using Airio, then edit the srv.txt with:-

# Track rotation scheme happening on every display of race end screen.
# "track[|laps/-mins[|car+car+]] > track..." in the scheme - string
# Instead of laps, minutes can be set as a negative value, the race is
# then for specified number of minutes plus one lap for the leader.
# Track name may be followed by underscore and layout name.
RotateTracks=KY1|4|UF1>KY1|4|XFG+XRG+MRT

# Number of races after which to rotate tracks by ending race - integer
# Number of minutes after which to rotate tracks by ending race - integer
RotateRaces=5

Asked at the press conference if the Met would consider banning future marches, Sir Paul replied: “That’s one of the options we have got. Banning is a very difficult step to take, these are very balanced judgments.
“We can’t ban a demonstration but we can ban a march, subject to approval by the Home Secretary.”
But he went on: “When you have got people willing to break the law in this way, what is the likelihood of them obeying an order not to march or complying with conditions on a demonstration?
“Sometimes putting that power in could just be inflaming the situation further.”

To me it sounds as though he just answered a question, he offered the options and then went on to point out that it would be futile and only make matters worse.

Yes I noticed that on GP Bikes also, lets hope this kart game will be a success and he continues with the bike one too.

Anyways, new pb for me today:-
43.598
13.928
15.742
13.927
116.8 km/h

Quote from baSh0r :43,466 // 13.685 & 15.888 & 13.893

pretty good lap, that were 2 pb splits for me (all except for mid sector, tpb is 15.826 there)

There might be a 42 possible but it's getting quite thin

Wow, that is very impressive.
I am down to a 43.886, after watching Daves video above I think I need to work on my setup...if I ride the kerb like that I am in a world of trouble.
Great game though, real nice feel...must be madness to have others on the track too.

Quote from DaveWS :This is awesome! The fundamentals feel fantastic, and the castor setting makes loads of difference to the karts handling. Hands down the best kart sim yet.

Agreed, I really like it.
I have done maybe 40 or so laps and am in the 45 second bracket, need to do a bit more adjusting of the wheel settings but it definately shows promise.
