Looks great! Now launch a DD2 mod (with the right cars), 20 cars start grid and one insane track.... damn!

Cryengine is effictive, meaning that with a powerfull system things should run fine and optimized.
The screenshots what can been seen on the website, is it actually something playable? Because it's awsome
Rigs of Rods 2.0

Gotta love this. Really excited about this!
Interesting
Hope that means it will be released within the next 24 hours too!
Hate to be a party pooper, but I think it's quite unlikely that they will release this (CryEngine + BeamNG) for the public for free. If they did that, I'm pretty sure they would have to get a license (expensive) from CryTek, or sign an agreement with them that allows free distribution (unlikely).

They are propably just trying to make themselves seen and heard by the big developers at this point, who could actually afford to license the CryEngine along with BeamNG for some proper game in the future.

These are just my theories, so don't take them too seriously.
You got a valid point, and I somehow agree, alltho I wish you are wrong

I think it's the other way around

"CryENGINE 3 is also free for non-commercial use; if you are distributing your game or application for free (and not charging for your work in producing it, whether directly or indirectly), no additional license is required."

As far as I know BeamNG can be integrated into any game engine, not only CryEngine 3.

So, if their game will be done in CryEngine 3, it will most likely be freeware, unless they will buy a license from Crytec.
I wanna test the game

Interesting. Thumbs up for Crytek for allowing non-commercial usage of their engine.

Kind of odd that there's hardly any indie game projects using it, as it is a very capable engine. Guess it falls down to the commercial side of things and having to license it.

Of course, never doubted this.
I can't believe what I've seen in this video :Eyecrazy: I'm speechless.

I'm throwing cash at the monitor but nothing is happening.

+1

What money, if it's gonna be free

At the moment the 100% realism is behind computer's performance, you'd need to model the car 100% accurate, all bolts and screws, pc's just wouldn't handle them in realtime rendering.
And they would also need to know the weight of every piece of the car.
Aaaaaaaa****! Pants ruined again!
boner achieved
sorry, I saw that the video was uploaded 07/07/12 and the last post in this topic was 06/07/12, so I didn't took time to open the last youtube link... didn't know that there was a non listed link uploaded one day before
Sorry for the bump, but I've read through an interesting thread on their forum: http://www.beamng.com/threads/ ... and-drift?p=7228#post7228

OP said:
Quote from OP :i my self love the handling of LFS and drifting on LFS, would be nice if the handling would be anyway similar.

And a developer answered with:
Quote from random developer :It feels a lot like LFS, just maybe with slightly number tires (though LFS tires are already pretty numb)

For those interested in screenshots of the development, check this thread out: http://www.beamng.com/threads/130-Screenshots!
