Whoa, uber bumapage.

I used to own a Ford, a 1995 Fiesta infact. Served me well, until it rusted into the ground. Drank oil like a b***h. Ended up in scrappy.

This 'tuned up' fiesta you speak of... specs? Can imagine its an RS Turbo?
Yer, a fiesta

Does the job, was the quickest car in sixthform (1.6 16v lol) which is all that matters when you're 17

Its in pretty good condition for a 13 year old ford though, engine is still sweet as a nut despite being ragged daily for 2 years, sorted all the rust last year, so yer. I'll probably keep it till it dies tbh, not worth selling, plus its got a good number of years left in it yet.
Quote from mrodgers :If I had a Ford today, I sure wouldn't admit to it, hehe. They aren't as bad as GM products though. Can you say "no feeling!" with GM.

That was posted by me, October 26, 2006....

Ok, I admit it now.... I own a Ford :hidesbehi...

Actually, it's the wife's. Tired of 15 year old vehicles, this was the only one that was affordable new. Bought it the end of January of this year at a huge discount ($29,000 vehicle that I paid $17,500 brand new). I certainly wouldn't have selected it for my own vehicle. It's actually a Mazda Tribute, but that is a Ford Escape with different front grill and rear glass. It's a small (very small) SUV for hauling the kids around. It's also, of course, only available in an auto tranny over here with the V6.

I inherited the wife's 150,000 mile Nissan Altima, also crappy automatic, that is having a bit of a problem at the moment :ambulance. Nothing big, one of the emissions components that could go out on any manufacturer's vehicle. The only problem is, it's taken me several weeks trying to get the darn thing out to replace it. Once it's replaced, I fully expect the Nissan to last the 5 years I'll be paying on the "Ford" until I can replace it with a new car of my own. The bad part is, I do fully expect to be visiting the dealer for some type of warrantee work on the darn "Ford". The Duratec V6 is suppose to be pretty darn good, but the transmission is known to have some serious problems. But VERY frequent transmission flushes is said to help out (like a flush and refill every stinkin 10,000 miles....)

So there! I said it! I own a stinkin piece of garbage Ford! :hide:
I had an Escort that didn't work, I tried and tried, but it wouldn't have it, so we got the beggar cube'd!

Gonna get another ford soon
Maybe a bit of old topic but...

...I have two and I love them! (would vote for that if that would be an option and the vote wouldn't be closed)
Two Sierras, I bought the first one when I was only 15 "for the future". From factory it was an boring 1.6 OHC but nowdays it has an 2.0 OHC EFi with few mods and almost ready Cosworth-look etc.

But "the future" did come too early, when I was 18 (oh I'm still) and did get my license on past winter, this "beaty" wasn't still having an license plates so with little money I bought my second Sierra, to have a nice winter toy. It was an boring 1.6, but in OK condition and in winter it was fun with the all 75 horsepower. I was still learning the secrets of car-handling and even managed to get it to "hang out" in the snowy ditch, front end looking to the way I was coming at, too slow hands I was having then. Ok I even did that twice on same day.:shhh: So it's maybe good I started winter practising with slow 1.6 than with tuned 2.0i. Well lol yes I modded the exhaust of 1.6 to make it sound like rallycar.

I practised with this car to the mid summer when my "real rallycar" did get plates to drive with. I think it sounds even more like a real.
(And is way more fun to drive). I'm trying to get rid of the 1.6, hopefully somebody buys it someday, even still I'm having some nice memories of it. Just right now I'm making some memories with the whaletail and hopefully get the project finished some day.

The future may bring some mk2 and mk1 Escorts etc, cause I'm a real RWD-Ford-Fanatic. I'm dreaming about owning a real Cosworth too, but it's going to get it's time to have the money.
Ah, rwd Ford lunatic ^^

Really nice to see some others without common sense here, I'm perhaps Volvo lunatic, but boxy 80's design and RWD is common naming for sure

I spam this thread with small video of my car sounds
I don't own a Ford and I plan on never doing so...

What, you don't like to earn place in heaven? I might get Ford some day for sure
If I did ever get a Ford, it would be on old 80's one. Capri, Cortina, MkI, MkII Escort and so on.
i dont own a ford even when im old enough to drive one ill steer well clear of them cause i dis like them , except for there vans , ford transit FTW !!!
Quote from tisy0 :All you people are stupid,

Ford is one of the best company's out there and possibly the best..
..

Yes. And Aserbaidschan has the best infastructur in the world.

Ford: found on rubbish dispenser (so far for german Fords)
My dads got two fords. A RWD Sierra Sapphire cosworth and an escort cosworth. Both highly modified, both tasty looking, both guaranteed to scare the s*** outta you
Drove a 99 Ford Mondeo with 1.8 this week for few days. Wasn't all that bad, but I thought that all the switches and the interior were rubbish. It also seems to lost its value rather fast compared to Japanese cars. And the interior was rubbish.
Is it me, or do most people who never owned a Ford hate them. And the ones who have owned one, hate it after they had only one. People who had more than one seem to like it 'till death.

It's just you. Since I turned 19, I've had a 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura, 1983 Ford Escort, 1985 Ford Escort, and now have a 2006 Mazda Tribute, which is just a rebadged Ford Escape. I don't like Ford. Their quality is horrible compared to other manufacturers, but then again, my Tribute was about half the cost new as any comparable vehicle from Honda, Toyota, Nissan, or Volkswagon.

$30,000 sticker price on my Tribute that I paid $17,000 for (brand new) with a monthly payment around the same as I would have for a 5 year old used vehicle. A friend in comparison had a $32,000 sticker on his Toyota and he's paying twice the monthly payment at over $500 per month. That's more than my housepayment...
Uhmm plan on getting an LX Coupe some time soon. (Foxbody Mustang)

Then we go divide it between American build ford's and European builds

Well yea, I just don't maybe have the right part in brain to have common sense when coming to cars. But yea 80's car desing just rocks, and 70's and 60's too... When going to 90's it started to be all rubbish. Well okay 4wd Cossies were sexy but still... I would love to own some fast Volvo someday, like 142 or something, one good sleeper when getting all out of the engine.

And BTW I don't really think about the quality, when your driving car that is at least 20 years old it doesn't really mean anything, how it was from factory. When your having the car like me, as a hobby and fun it doesn't really mean anything is it easy to keep, it's always hard when you drive it like, like fun car should be driven. I'm Ford-fanatic but still I love all those low-quality cars from 80's to 60's, I'm dreaming of having an old Opel Manta someday etc... It's in the heart, not in the sense when it comes to cars with me.
Ford Focus ST170

And please on the jokes... funny how the newer fords coming out are better then alot of the cars out now.

The only funny thing is that statement

They still have horrible, cheapy, mass produced interiors. The first Focus is actually a nice looking car. Still too Ford-y for me to own one.
And I'm dreaming from Alfa GTV6 from 1986 year, maybe not most reasonable car to get but it has something

About quality, my smaller Volvo has been on parking lot 4 months now, oil spilled over cam belt, it is like that with enough old cars, when car comes to certain age, it becomes Opel

Okie agreed on the interior front, they suck on it but i'm not really a interior guy. I'm more for handling and engine.

But now you have SONY MP3 headunit in alot of the better fords (TDCI ford focus, ST etc) which looks abit nicer.
Oops! Poll reactivated. The shame. :Kick_Can_
Thought it would be appropiate for me to post here, considering my user name.

Well I have 1 now, and have had approx 13 different cars in the last 3 yrs. These steam from the 1.6 petrol focus estate, to a Mondeo Titanium X, and the Cmax 2.0l Ghia, and the Mondeo ST 220.

I like them, expecially the ones with all the bells and whistles.

Oh, yes, I do work for Ford hehe
Quote from The General Lee :The only funny thing is that statement

According to Evo magazine the new Mondeo handles better than nearly all current Audis other than the RS4.
