H1 VAE = HIV?

pretty hilarious
VAE is clearly an anagram of EVA, as in Eva Peron aka Evita, and as such is offensive to Argentina.
Throwing rocks at something, that got your feelings offended? Reminds me of the first USA episode, but that it only takes a number plate lately is pretty neat.

Takes much less work than painting your car. I like efficiency.
in certain places (near football stadiums) wearing the wrong coloured scarf may result in the same aggression
This looks like one of those 'wrong place/time' moments. Clearly the UK needs to consider the Argies views on the Faulklands as, based on this, the fact they got beaten in the war it still hurts and is an issue they want resolved. And they don't find it funny.....

"Who won the bloody war anyway ?"

Well, thats the German's, Italians, Misc European countries, Japanese, et al, all offended.
And the Argentinian's, mind you, we just beat them at Rugby too, so..........

Do I win a Jeremy for managing that ?

Or, Joke.com (2nd reference in 1 day !)

Hmm... I don't know. More logically I reckon its more a reference to their arch rivals Brasil. HI VAE - HIVE - Bees - Yellow - Brasil - Argentinian rivals!
Since when are TG review boring? You must be in the wrong thread.
This world is so screwed up. Being offended on that level over history... If somebody came up with a wrong joke about treaty of trianon, I wouldn't give a damn crap about it, and same goes for any other whining over the history.

Media is generating so much bullcrap over Top Gear lately that my brain just wants to melt and flow through my ears whenever I read these articles.

lol, that happens in the less civilized part of the USA (Redneck Country).

as Argentinian have to apologize for such a barbaric reaction about the car plates, I feel deeply ashamed about all of this. I hope TG crew and presenters keep in mind we are not all dim witted and violent and that they still have fans at this end of the world. Cheers
It's ok. It was the worst Top Gear special ever anyway! I would have protested myself if I'd known how much they'd repeatedly rely on "getting stuck" to create 2 hours of rubbish.
Not a single post on latest episodes? I love them, the Peugeout section was too good.
I have to say that series 22 are more interesting that previous 3 or 4... somehow it feels like they are back on track
The Peugeot film was the best thing ever. Rofl
Haha, god damnit Peugeot part was awesome Big grin
Wonder what the Peugeot leaders thinks of a "comercial" like that!
Some of the Peugoet had me laughing out loud which I haven't done with Top Gear for a very long time.
I was shocked by the celebrity lap time. But Will Smith getting beat, hilarious.
Here's the real story on Top Gear's trip to Australia. That is, here's the damage bill that was never announced on the program.

However, Autoevolution.com reported the damage to the Bentley was so severe that it lost 50 per cent of its value.

In addition, Fairfax Media has learned that both the $170,000 plus Nissan GT-R driven by May and the $300,000 plus BMW M6 Gran Coupe driven by Clarkson were also in need of a full paint respray and other cosmetic overhauls. Nissan even went to the length of pulling almost every part off its GT-R to ensure it was completely rid of the invasive red outback dust.

All three car makers sent a crew of their own technicians to the Northern Territory to ensure the cars stood up to the punishment of the three experienced hosts.

Does it surprise you that driving through the outback sandblasts the paint?
Not particularly, I'm just suggesting that these cars are actually completely impractical in real world conditions.

At least, in the real world down here !

Even the 'cheapest' Datsun had to be fully stripped down and rebuilt to be used again after their road trip.
Probably why Hilux's are so popular as they actually cope with our usage. And leave enough money left to buy 2 3 bedroom houses in my area......

And that's only with the Datsuns cost, the Bentley would give you 6 houses, a Hilux, and fuel for a year or 2..............

Then there's Aussie Stigs ute, the Holden SS V8 Manual, these are insane devices, and you can get 6 of these plus most of a house for the Bentleys cost.

Or 16 Great Wall double cabs with tow bars and canopies.

That's like nearly half a race field in one of our local racing series.

Probably why we race utes.

Of course the cars are going to get hammered and of course they are completely impractical for driving across the outback, it is just the usual daft Top Gear challenge done for the comedy. They weren't trying to sell a GTR or Bentley as the best vehicle for rounding up cattle Wink All three companies no doubt expected their cars to be trashed however what it would have cost to put the press cars right is tiny in comparison to the cost of getting your car that much airtime on one of the worlds most popular Car programs.
Looks like Clarkson is in trouble again...

Quote from BBC :Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC "following a fracas" with a producer.

The corporation said the presenter had been suspended "pending an investigation".

"No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday," it said.
