Well this certainly has been a good read this morning.

I've been married almost a year, dated her for 4 years prior, so she knew what she was getting into. She hates computers with a passion, but finds it pretty fascinating that I can get online and play games with people from all over the world. She complains sometimes about me being online too much. But, I figure she will get over it I mean, the only games I play are LFS and Enemy Territory, how much time can that take?

Seriously, I wouldn't trade her for the world, I'm very lucky.

# An option to run the network driver in promiscuous mode which would allow the systems hardware probe feature to be much more useful.

I myself decided to avoid all of the headaches associated with Wife 1.0 by sticking with Girlfriend 2.0. Even here, however, I found many problems.

Apparently you cannot install Girlfriend 2.0 on top of Girlfriend 1.0. You must uninstall Girlfriend 1.0 first. Other users say this is a long standing bug which I should have been aware of. Apparently the versions of Girlfriend have conflicts over shared use of the I/O port. You think they would have fixed such a stupid bug by now.

To make matters worse, the uninstall program for Girlfriend 1.0 doesn't work very well, leaving undesirable traces of the application in the system.

Another thing that stinks -- all versions of Girlfriend continually pop up little annoying messages about the advantages of upgrading to Wife 1.0.

BUG WARNING

Wife 1.0 has an undocumented bug. If you try to install Mistress 1.1 before uninstalling Wife 1.0, Wife 1.0 will delete MSMoney files before doing the uninstall itself. Then Mistress 1.1 will refuse to install, claiming insufficient resources.

BUG WORK-AROUNDS

To avoid the above bug, try installing Mistress 1.1 on a different system and never run any file transfer applications such as Laplink 6.0.

Also, beware of similar shareware applications that have been known to carry viruses that may affect Wife 1.0. Another solution would be to run Mistress 1.1 via a UseNet provider under an anonymous name. Here again, beware of the viruses which can accidentally be downloaded from the UseNet.

LMAO, this thread is funny. Getting to the topic at hand, I dont have one. Have not had one for about 7'ish years (or actually one that was worth calling a "girlfriend"), and it does not make me lose sleep at night.

@wheel4hummer; its good to have a just a relationship as a friend, but if its someone you really love after a while.. which you probably will since it is a friend relationship.. it rarely works out; usually because the friendship starts at an early age and after about 5 years or so, it starts to dissipate and you dont talk that much, shes always going out with other guys... your just kinda sitting there alone.. it sucks lol (this is how it is for me) but i will say, the more friends you have that are girls, the easier it will be for you later on; i will explain, if you are like me (even though i have 2 sisters i still have this problem but.. im dealing better each year) you are probably slightly scared of girls (you'd have to ask tinyk but i wouldn't be surprised if girls are too for a while) and the more friends you have that are girls, the easier it is just to be around them in general (which is a good thing.. i dont think you would want to marry someone you never talk to and always hide from); and heres the plus, the more friends that are girls that you have.. the more you will meet, its a great way to meet new girls

its more of an honor type deal.. you cant just go around kissing girls then laying them that night, it just doesnt work that way; if it does though.. your probably gonna lead a really empty life inside yourself, and thats never good, then you'll get depressed and all sorts of bad stuff

in all sense, the nicer and friendlier you are, the better off you are, and always talk.. (well.. not always, you always have to give room at times) atleast, always talk about your feelings to, if you dont do that, it seems like your hiding something and you dont want to hide stuff like that

@nutty, you really just have to keep your distance at times really, it may be hard, but .. its better than loosing it all, also just give it some time really, after a few years you'll look back and be like.. ahh we were soo young.. we made mistakes and all that mess
