The online racing simulator
Quote from Gabkicks :why... army my outside tires off of the ground ?

you appear to have a bad case of car mirroring. The entire car appears as normal, except exactly backwards. Which explains why the outside wheels have lifted and why you are driving on the wrong side of the car
So apparently the custom wheels cycle around like the used cars at the used car dealer. I love this game so far... but sometimes PD really makes strange decisions...
Ai is quite sucky, im doing the Grand turismo world championship in professional events, most of the cars are around Super GT/DTM speed yet i can out race them in a 250hp Lotus elise with racing modification(a big thing im happy they brought back).

Hows the status on cheats or game saves?

I don't like to work on top of what I already had to pay in order to access the content.
Don't know how true this is but here goes:

Quote :- New patch coming Dec. 1st, which will enable damage in Arcade Mode.
- Damage model is currently enabled from Level 20
- Damage model upgrade will be included that will let car veer right or left, if there is damage to the front wheels.
- possibility to turn on/off engine damage and total loss.
- framerate performance should be better
- will not be the only patch until Christmas

Same for the custom wheels in GT Auto.
Ok, so initial impressions b/c everyone really cares what I think:

First the bad:
  • AI are terrible and stupid
  • Some of the challenges are really annoying
  • Graphics are inconsistent at best
  • Menus are a total UI cluster****... seems like a blind man designed this
  • Load times could certainly be better
  • Game's locked up on me several times transitioning from menu to menu
  • Occasionally been on the main menu and had no cursor
  • So let's say it's a bit buggy
Then the good:
  • Physics do seem to be improved though it's still no LFS or iR (really need to connect my wheel to tell properly)
  • Using a gamepad w/o any aids is kind of hellish, as it probably should be... massive understeer on anything FWD, overcorrection w/ anything RWD that starts to slide (note that this is in the Good column...)
  • Some of the graphics are truly gorgeous
  • Game feels epic, like there's tons to do and I'll be playing it for a good long while
  • Still as satisfying to play as it ever was
I bought a skyline :P

Found it in the Used car lot. A Nissan Skyline GTR R34 V-Spec II N1. It is pretty quick. I did have to do an engine rebuild though as it was shagged.

just like every other GT that preceded it? there was a lot of times i wanted to buy cars but couldn't because i was on the wrong "day".
Well, I bought my car.. 2001 Bora (Jetta).

I must say.. I like GT5 a lot with wheel. It's fun.

Like in GT4 as well, nothing wrong with this IMO. You don't find people selling their cars anytime your ready to buy it in the real world, especially the rare ones

GT4 used cars followed a repeating cycle. A very long cycle that is.

You can buy new cars anytime you want though

Quote :Currently the online services of Gran Turismo 5 (GT5) is experiencing some extreme online traffic congestion.

Because GT5 performs online access not only when participating in online races and using community features, but also when starting the game and during the various screen displays in GT Mode, unfortunately this online congestion is also affecting standard gameplay.

If you are experiencing the following symptoms, we recommend that you temporarily play GT5 without connecting the PlayStation 3 (PS3) to the network.

(A) If you are finding it takes several minutes before being able to perform any actions in the following screens:

- Before the start of the opening movie, immediately after launching the game
- At the top screen after the game has started
- In various screens within GT Mode

(B) Or, when it takes several minutes or more to gain a result when the following operations are performed:

- When entering the open lobby, if it takes several minutes or more before the room list is acquired and displayed.
- When clicking on an ID in the participant list of a room, if it takes several minutes or more before the menu appears.
- When writing on the message boards within "Community", if it is taking several minutes or more for your posts to appear.

* Also, some of the following features have been limited intentionally as a measure to temporarily alleviate some of the network traffic. Due to these limitations, you will find that:
- The viewing and update of the [Log] in the Community section of GT Mode has been temporarily disabled.
- Changes to the Profile may not update in some cases.
- Changes to the Friend List may not update in some cases.

Currently we are simultaneously working on several different solutions to improve the network status and alleviate the network congestion as soon as possible. We are expecting to be able to provide a proper online service again soon.

We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.

Reference Information
Temporary measures you can take for playing Offline

The following are procedures for preventing the PS3 from accessing the network when playing GT5.
Please note the steps introduced here are only temporary procedures you can take until the network conditions are improved.

(1) If GT5 is currently running, please quit the game.

(2) Go to [Settings] -> [Network Connections] -> [Internet Connection] and switch the selection to [Disabled]

(3) Start GT5.

Well I'm straight from GT1 and 2. Dont remember waiting for days to buy any given car.
I don't think GT1 and 2 had 2nd hand cars, but I could be wrong, it's been a while
kaz had announced that there will be many many updates coming up soon. i love this game! disappointed by incomplete systems but VERY happy!
i just go through w/ the 1st 2 top gear test track tests... the elise is so tail happy or maybe my foot was just too heavy from driving the samba bus minutes before. I am hunting around for a classic sports car to race and was tempted to buy an ACR viper and the Ferrari 512bb... but money is too tight atm.
Quote from CoolColJ :I don't think GT1 and 2 had 2nd hand cars, but I could be wrong, it's been a while

GT1 did iirc, not so sure about GT2 though
My copy finally turned up this afternoon.

I like:

The handling. Body movement is good, grip levels seem reasonable.
The course maker.
The kart.
The smoke/skidmarks.

I dislike:

The flickery shadows on the car.
The flickery and jaggedy shadows cast by the car.
The jaggedy outline of the car if there is smoke/spray/dust behind.
The gale-force rain spray at Monza, despite an absence of tree movement, or even sideways rain (clearly just a way to stop it lingering and making the jaggedy outline of cars look bad).
The absence of Seattle.
The absence of any sign of headlights in the interior mirror on a night track.
Ah now I remember, every GT game had used cars except GT3

Hey, maybe we can properly think out what the Reasonably Priced Car could be now.
Still either a Cervo or 500 (the new one)
Edit: I noticed, I thought the Castrol Supra is premium too?
