MG is shit
I'm not a trader as such, I don't have enough money

The golf was sold because I needed the money, living on your overdraft sucks, the next Corsa B was shit but it wasn't my car, was just a car our garage had up for sale, so I got that untill it sold, then I got the MG...

The only good thing about the MG was it's gutsy 1.4 and it's stiff suspension, yea it was good fun thrashing about the back roads but for the money it was costing me I didn't find it 'that' much fun. Next year the insurance wanted £950, the road tax is £82 and I think it's going up after April next year.

The MG wasn't that gutsy though, only when you booted it like any other car would you notice a differnce, but i'd still get 35-40mpg just driving about the doors.

The new corsa however, 650 next year to insure and £49 next year to tax and in 2 months I done about 2k miles in the MG (Had a couple of long journeys though) and the corsa would of been £80 less on fuel, so it's savings all round.

Ontop of that, the corsa has remote central locking, the MG didn't even have central locking (Or it was broken, I never bothered to find out) and i'm sick to death of having to reach over EVERY time I get in the car to open the passenger door. When it's raining all I would hear is "Hurry up hurry up my hairs gettin wet!"

Another confession, it's red, looks a bit girly Though, they have 70bhp as standard but can be remapped to gain about another 30bhp (Or by using those tuning boxes) so i'll be looking into that soon.

Couldn't that increase fuel consumption, making it a pointless buy for the better fuel consumption
Thats better!

It's had paint renovator, super resin polish, and triple protection wax now, and my arms hurt lol, it was sooo bad to begin with, it literally looked like it was painted in a matt finish before.
Nice white 5 door Escort!

That does look really nice though. I think you should keep the wheels, BBS' are great.
I was gonna keep them at one point, but then i remembered that one of them is buckled a little bit on the inside of the rim and leaks air, hence the reason why it has a tube in it, plus the front 2 tyres are starting to get near the limit on the inside edges as well.
Quote from DTrott :Couldn't that increase fuel consumption, making it a pointless buy for the better fuel consumption

The chip would have to half the fuel consumption for it to be like the MG but generally tuning boxes can make your car even more fuel efficient because that extra power causes you to use less throttle while doing your day to day driving.

If you boot it around however i'm pretty sure you'll notice the MPG drop, but this applys to any car...

Looking fantastic Scrabby, how often do you work on the car? By the progress you're making, I'm guessing, every night? :P
1991 Mazda RX-7
I have tons of pics, but I'll just show two.

K&N intake/filter with custom air box
Racing Beat springs
KYB AGX shocks
Energy Suspension bushings (installation=:banghead
Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX tires (215/45/17)
Hawk HPS brake pads
full custom exhaust (header to mufflers, no catalytic converter) was on the car when I bought it, would not have been my first choice.
It's far too loud around town, but great fun at high rpm on back roads.
painted wheels
maintenance + restoration stuff.

There are a couple gauges on the a-piller. (oil temp and water temp)
Momo Steering wheel
Momo shift knob
short shifter to be installed when it arrives in a week or two.

I've actually done a lot to the interior. It's mostly stock now, but when I got it it was all white and black.

Creative and interesting, but not my style. I was able to paint a few parts, others I had to replace.

It's a lot of fun to drive. The handling/steering is excellent and it revs so easily (8000 silky smooth rpm woohoo) . I <3 rotary. However, no torque+linear power band = deceptively slow. (Not that it's actually fast, but it is faster than it feels. ) I'd like to get it to a track sometime. Maybe next year.

I wish LFS had a rotary car...
Maybe get the chance to get a e36 316i compact from a work mate.

It got quite much kilometers on it but looks very good from the outside and is a bit worn in the inside (but i dont care there isn´t stuff you can´t repair by yourselfe)

Also it got a gas system in it which i´m really interested in how it works and how it is to drive with it

The best thing: the lady got the m-pack

The price would be between 1k and 1.5k € i guess (i wouldn´t really pay more when you look at how much kilometers are on the car)

Looking forward to make my dream come true and own my first BMW
13b or 13bt?

**** i love your FC, White on black rims, perfect
good job on getting rid of the retarded white interior

rotor power ftw
Clean Fc dude nice job with the interior

header to mufflers sounds like N/A, no turbo in between

My red tint spray arrived in the post today, so off i went....

Sidecutters, chopped off the wiring at the base of sticky out foglight that i didnt like after i unscrewed it, and threw in the bin.

Then i chopped off the wires from the bulb holder for the reverse bulb as far from the holder as i could, a couple of spade connecters later and a quick test, wiring sorted.

So next, how to make the white bit red.... i didnt really want to spray the outside of the lense so i decided to try and pop the plastic bit out from the inside, but no, it wouldnt budge, then it dawned on me what to do...

Tint spray in the boot and spray it into the hole for the bulb through the back of the cluster, then wait and repeat a couple of times, it worked but was kind of see through still in places with the light on, so i tried to spray the clear bulb red, which worked, but then red started to blister and smoke began to come off the bulb so it was red, but not quite red enough.

So i ended up having to do a small amount of spraying on the outside of the lense and hey presto, jobs a good'un!

Before and after pics....

All i need to do now is fill the hole where the wire was, tidy up the rusty mess and remains of a eunus badges gluey gunk on the rear panel, and the slight overspray around the edge of the light, but overall, piece of cake.

I have also had a very good offer from a guy who comes into where i work, who was a proffesional sprayer for several years, he even sprayed for rolls royce at one point, and he has told me that if i buy the primer, paint and lacquer of my choice, and find a place indoors with electricity that can be used for a few days then he will fully prep and spray the entire car for me,and all he asks is that i buy him a pint sometime in return, which is excellent!

Can't you put a header on a turbo car? I've never owned a turbo car (or one with a piston-engine). I really don't know.

No they aren't. They are great fun and more reliable/less complicated than turbos (yes I'm biased :nod. A bit down on power, yes but still fun.
I don't like turbos in general. I just don't like the noise.
I'm confused as to what you were doing Dan?
My first car, 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, yes it has a fart cannon, but I don't care, call me ricer, call me stupid, its my first car and I love every millimeter of it.

Usually called an exhaust manifold. Or just manifold.

Congrats looks really clean! I wish something like this had been my first car lol

Took me a moment to see it too. He tinted the lens for the reverse light from white to red on the right side.

That wouldn't be legal here. How does someone know you have your car in reverse now? Also, though many aren't bright enough but they do help, how do you see anyone walking behind you in a dark parking lot when you are in reverse before you move?

Not a good idea.

He painted one reverse light red, and wired it into the fog light to get rid of the hideous outside cube fog light.

I think it's a very good idea, but I would of done it a little different. I would of put a chrome red bulb in there and left it white...
