Well in my constant struggle to increase fps in online gaming i just discovered something new...but don't exactly know how to go about implementing it......for racers like me and a few above with outdated systems...i dont think it is necessary that the game be all that pretty looking....other than low res. and LOD settings...it is also highly unnecessary for some .dds files like the trees,bushes,ads,banners,caravan etc to load....what i cld best do here is delete these files....but then i get many many of these annoying msgs,,,"cld not load filename.dds"....is there no way i cld disable these...???? The other thing i could do is replace these with plain grey or white pictures...but that kinda feels weird.

ok now...cal. lock is off...and steering lock is lower in the setup...but some funny problem still there...ie....it turns one way...and stays turned fully....doesnt return....

yes it can be caliberated in the cp and i have donre that...andd it does have drivers...which i did install.....anddd it does respond in the game...andddd...here are the screenies..

yea it is very special...a very good frnd of mine got it for me....

I just got a new wheel..and installed it succesfully...now i am having tough time caliberating it...though the acc./brake pedals,the shifter and the handbrake work fine...i just dont know how to caliberate the wheel for steering....if it works,,its too sensitive....also i really dont understand the wheel compensation ratio...recaliberate axis...remove dead zones...lock caliberation....and all...can anyone plz help....also i have heard of DX tweak...wld tht be of nyhelp...where can i get it???

and ya the ff works fine too....

return rate - .10
dont use slow steer and fast steer...

Okay..so the new patch is out...and its kinda different now...lap times have gotten slower....and atleast as far as i think...KB racers are gonna suck big time now.....it is really hard....my lap times have dropped by 1-2 secs...nyways i just wanted all KB racers to post any suggestions or setups or any info. that cld be of nyhelp to fellow KB racers....and also tips from pros wld be really nice.

Well its really funny...i really dont understand why sooo many ppl have sooo many problems with ferrari.....they are a good team..and they have showed that several times....schumacher is a brilliant driver...schumi and ferrari were just doing too good....but now things are different...and thats how it is meant to be.....u know rise and fall....if it wasnt that way....F1 wouldnt be interesting....

Now for ur answer....well i dont wanna sound rude here...but what evidence do u have that they are cheats ??? dont get me wrong...but here u sound just like many others who makes comments without any reason or logic behind them....

And ya...if u were by any chance talking about the front wing on the ferrari flexing at higher speeds....then let me make it very clear..its all bullshit...if we look at it that way....then every team has something different from the other in their cars...the cars only look similar...but only on very close observation u find that they all have i high level of detail distinguishing them from others to improve aerodynamics..and lots more....and besides if it were a genuine flaw..the why do u think the FIA aint doing nything about it despite the constant compalints by opponent teams...?????

Even though i aint a mouse user...was jus wondering...if we could use the MS X axis for steering and MS Y for gas/braking ????

Well i woluld put put it this way...its simple...its all about how good u are at what u do...with what u use.I use keys now...and i am better than many ppl using wheel and mouse...but no doubt that wheel is the best from of control...a lot of things cannot be easily done on kbs (likee trail braking) unless u are one hell of a kb racer...it all comes with car control..get ur setup right..play around with a few setups of ur liking..and ge them perfect 4 u...

u'll find the pots and gameport connector (male) at any electronics/computer hardware store......u'll have to solder wires from the pots to the connector pins....

i havent tried radioshack...maybe u'll find it there

i have not tried making use of usb for home made wheels/pedals ....since u need usb connectivity...u cld finish off the entire thing with a gameport male pin..as in the pic i posted above...and then use a converter to plug it in the USB.......just as "vain" explains

not very sure of which pot u shld go for....all i know is sliding pots may not last long....think u shld go 4 rotary ones......i currently use a KB..planning to make myself wheel and a set of pedals.....see if this cld help u..

PS - have u heard of a gameport to usb converter...u may wanna give it a go.
