Well either your video card is almost dead, or your hard drive is doing some really heavy loading while you're playing (which would explain the dips in fps). Dunno. Do you have another video card to try? I'm not sure it's just a single component causing these issues, it seems like a combination of factors are causing it to screw up. Did you have XP on that computer before? Did anything like this ever happen before?

It's the system for sure, the Radeon 3200 is very very limited in terms of performance.

Eventually, yes.

LOL why does the trailer have a fuel door? haha I smell a fake!

I'm not 100% sure about this but I would say less revs = less fuel being burned. I hope an expert can shed more light on this though, I would like to know as well.

I have a Radeon 3200 onboard as well on another computer in my house. The thing is not supposed to be used for games, it's performance is garbage. It is only meant to be used for desktop applications because it's a super low power video card and therefore very weak (at least it's better than Intel's crap onboard graphics cards). If you want a gaming video card, get a dedicated video card, like a Radeon 4870 or something, they are getting to be very cheap these days since the 5800s are out.

I wonder what kind of lifetime SSD drives have...I hear they only last 1-2 years before they die. How long have you had yours for? And has the performance decreased at all over that time?

Get it anyway, cause once you do you're halfway to an S2 license. From S1 to S2 is only another 12 pounds.

Well the headlights don't actually light up the road yet...

But I have one comment about the headlights...when I turn on my car's headlights (same headlight configuration as the XFG) the corner lights also turn on (the yellow ones), and they blink when a turn signal is activated, but are on whenever the headlights are on. Is it possible to have the same behaviour in the XFG? I think it would look nicer too.

Headlights and taillights? Now this I gotta try!

Fix the link and I'll tell you if it's good or not. But it seems that Newegg is having some problems of their own atm.

The problem is that such a seat would be expensive, and it would be so close to driving a real car that you would rather do the real thing rather than play a game which simulates the real thing.

Quote from legoflamb :With all this talk about pre-ordering, Why not just toss in 12 euros into your account and not use it for anything? It would be the same as pre-ordering. All you have to do is wait for S3 to come out and get a voucher. As simple as pie. Ive already done it. I could buy S3 twice.

We don't know the price of S3 yet, so there's no point in putting [probably the wrong amount of] money in your account just yet, unless you plan on using the other benefits like high-res skin downloads and such.

Hmm should we trust a demo racer who's posting suspicious-looking links? Any idiot knows that there is a perfectly good DDS plugin available on Nvidia's web site.

Doesn't this track kinda remond you of Kyoto? I mean obviously they're not the same, but there are some similarities.

so what if a new track was spotted? a certain car was spotted over a year ago, and the devs said they would release it, and we still have no new car. now apply that pattern to this track, and we probably won't see it before 2011...

Yes I have that same problem, but I don't use the Windows volume control to control my volume, I use the volume control knob on my speakers. That doesn't change the Windows volume slider, so it doesn't reset anything.

I also have a 5.1 sound system, and I also noticed the volume was not very loud from my rear speakers, so I found this panel and turned up the volume for those particular speakers. Try it out, see if it makes a difference.

I guess your card is dying a slow and painful death then, you should replace it.

It sounds like the video card may have gone bad, is there another video card you can try to see if it makes a difference?

also, run GPU-Z and look at the temps, maybe post a screenshot here.

I worked at IBM for the past year, and everyone uses a Thinkpad there. You have no idea the kind of torture those poor old T43s go through every day, and yet, they all worked, and rarely broke down. I'm talking about physical torture, but also just the torture of constantly loading stuff, like RSA (the fully featured version of Eclipse), and Websphere servers, and DB2, and Lotus Notes, all running on those old Thinkpads at the same time lol. They are quite amazing notebooks, after working there I wouldn't even consider buying anything other than a Thinkpad.

At least it looks pretty good. Some new cars have this "futuristic" look to them which I personally don't like, but this one I like, it looks nice, just like a sports car should look like.
