Well thats the way i've always understood it.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong. If you didn't want your skin to be edited the you would surely put No editing on the skin.

Did you even read the whole post?
What program are you using? If you want a template i'll just save a blank skinfile for you with the black mask slapped on top so you can only see the skinable areas. It might help if your using paint but if your using a program that supports .psd files then like G said ^^download the Skin kits!
i use photoshop and have never used gimp, loads of people use gimp for skins and have no problems.
As for the Cmx viewer: when you make a skin save the skinfile in lfsviewer/data/skins/(prefix of appropriate car e.g XFR)_(your skin name here)
and then just keep saving over and over and over again and clicking reload to check out your progress!

At first when i read your post i just wanted to scream at you and pull out my hair because imo if you don't have permission you shouldn't even start to edit a skin BUT i dont see anywhere on the skin that says "skin made by" or "no editing" so i suppose your free to do what you want!

Trying to blend those flames from front to bonnet and sides is never gonna be an easy task, even for some of the most talented skinnerz around. Honestly i think you'd be better off working those flames onto the bonnet another way. Dont get me wrong, it would look sh1t hot if you did it but thats a lot of work (might be possible with a graphics tablet....).

Unfortunately for you you have a habit of making a lot of requests and pestering people into making skins for you which is quite annoying. If you weren't so annoying you might find that people are a lot more helpful. (sorry for my honesty).
I'd have a go at that if it was for someone that i thought actually wanted the skin and would use it but i know that next week there will be a new thread made by you requesting something else!

so atm the only signs of a skin being made for you at the moment is the one that i have started? If this is right i will carry on with the skin for you. if you already have a skin i don't wanna waste my time!!!!

no i mean that if someone else is doing you a skin then let them carry on. i'll make soomething else out of this one!!
its hard to say because you never really know untill you try it but i would follow the curve of the pod a bit more so that it comes to a point at the front of the pod and make it so that the black section is thicker. Imagine the base of the skin being black and make it so that it looks like there is a red line around the pod and then a similar or thinner white line inside the red one... thnks its gonna be trial and error with it though!
The flames look good but maybe a bit random??? If you know what i mean

I'd just like to say that when people put NO EDITING on a skin it means NO EDITING. Not go and stretch and squash the shit out of a skin for one car so it suits another and then ask if its ok. People (i included) spend hours on skins and its not so that someone else can just go and violate it. Please if your even contemplating editing someone elses skin give them a heads up and just see what they think before you start to abuse their work or just simply show some respect and leave them the way they were meant to look!
